Normally ok, but seems to go down every storm we have. It stays down for over 24 hrs. All our neighbours on the same nbn fttp have still got internet, so it’s just flip that goes down.

Hopeless technical support
Hopeless technical support. Waited over 2 hours and left many call back requests, nothing. Dont go there. Will be changing to another provider.
Terrible experience- had to hotspot from phone
Terrible experience. They never delivered on their speed (even when I was sat next to the modem). I constantly had to hotspot from my phone since internet couldn't even support zoom. After 6 months of that & numerous calls to techs I asked to make an official complaint & they ghosted me. 0/10
AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE
AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE - WHAT A JOKE!
This company is a joke - After paying them, 2 days later, still no internet, and when I look at my account online, it still says I owe them money. This tells me their accounting system SUCKS!
I spoke to Erika who PROMISED me it would only take 1-2 hours to apply my payment to my account so they could then activate my internet connection, and she also promised to call me to advise on what is happening, well that was 48 hours ago, and no phone call and in fact they have now ADDED $25.00 to an old bill for the previous month, so now Not only do i have no internet, not only does their accounting system say I owe them money (even though I have paid) , NOW the outstanding amount has grown by $25.00
Apart from speaking with ERIKA, I sent 48 hours ago a support ticket to try and fix this issue, SURPRISE SURPRISE - NO ANSWERS!
This company is a JOKE, they have ZERO IDEA of customer support, and I am still without an internet connection. REFUND ME NOW !!
FOR FLIP NBN Australia
FOR FLIP NBN Australia.
Flip? FLOP! Worst NBN provider ever! Purchased a modem which showed up days late but was charged from the sign up date. Service was slow at best (and quite often not at all) and after contacting Flip about the slow speed, turns out it was my fault! A 'bridge Tap' apparently. So I spent $300 for a "Jims Aerials' to tell me its not a Bridge Tap! I was only renting for 1 year and cancelled Flip at my earliest convenience but was charged again for time I had no access to the network!!! The customer service person said "dont pay until they drop the last monthly fee" I did this, and Flip called in the debt collectors for a measly $70. If you want to save a couple of bucks, be treated like a criminal for not wanting to pay for something you didnt receive... go for it. I personally moved to Tangerine FTTP and they have been exactly what I expect. Professional and no drop outs!!! well worth the extra dollars!!!
Left without service for a week with no warning
Wanted to connect internet to my new address. Checked online, confirmed that they could service the address, and signed up. Received confirmation that a modem was being sent and internet would be connected in 7 days. The week passes and no internet. I call to see what's happening. Turns out they can't service my address after all and they didn't send the modem but didn't bother telling me, leaving me with no internet for a week. Now I'll be without internet for another week while I wait for another company. 2 weeks with no internet when I would normally be working from home. Absolutely appalling.
Update: 2 weeks later, I've already joined another ISP when I inexplicably lose service. Call my new ISP. Apparently Flip randomly decided to try connecting me again and issued a request to port my service across without my permission, weeks after I'd already moved on.
Woeful customer service and they rip you off when you cancel
I cancelled my contract with flip due to the end of the promotion period. I got an invoice from this company for the full month that I had cancelled even tho the contract was cancelled for mid of the month. After telling the lady I wasn’t paying half that for a service I didn’t get she said I needed to cancel my service before the 1st of any month or you get charged the full bill. This wasn’t stipulated when I spoke to the person when I cancelled over the phone. She agreed to waive half of the fee however came back with only a couple of dollars off saying that because it’s my 7th month I’ll be charged the normal rate. I contested as my contract originally began on the 16th Oct and I ended it on exactly on the 16th April. I said I’ll take it to the ombudsman and she responded with “Is that all today” and proceeded to hang up. The internet service in general was also appalling. It kept dropping out and the speed was below par. I wouldn’t suggest anyone to go with this provider.
Horrible service, customer care shocking and no internet!
Coming from iiNet, I chose Flip for the price point for the downloads/uploads speed.
I have had nothing but issues with them.
Customer care team speak over you, don't give detailed responses - it's like you're talking an AI computer. It's really, really bad. This goes across the board - talking to their offshore team and Australian reps (the Aussie's were worse tbh). Wait times were absolutely ridiculous and they'd hung up on me mid sentence a few times. No notes were ever on their system to confirm it was my 4th, 5th, 6th ect phone call. I have been with other companies that were low cost and they were fine. So I don't believe you get what you pay for, because I have had experiences before that were positive and lower in cost.
I had multiple tickets and investigations done on our internet service. All of them came back 'fine', they blamed network outages (when there were none). But the internet constantly kept going out for long and short periods. I have only been with them for 3 months, but it was terrible!
Switched back to iiNet as their service is SO much better!
Phantom Technical Support
The problem with Flip, and other "cheap-skate" providers is they don't have a technical support. To them it's wasted money. Network troubleshooting 101 is completely beyond their capabilities.
I was seeing excessive packet loss connecting to an outgoing mail server and sent in a fault ticket asking if they could check the same on their side. They sent back a reply suggesting a browser/DNS issue; a cut-n-paste from their website that I had already read before sending the ticket. I suspect "Djion" was nothing more than an email app. They clearly hadn't bothered to read the ticket.
I've realized, as others have that Flip support is of no help and would be the reason why so many non-technical customers, who have to rely on this sham-service for help, get so frustrated and feel the need to vent.
I can also understand why Flip don't bother sending those "How did we do?" emails anymore.
Waited for so long on the phone
Waited for so long on the phone. It's so obvious that the call centre workers blatantly ignore your call. Worst customer service/call centre.
Great customer service
Great customer service. Internet speeds vary, but we have discovered that is primarily a NBN (we are quite a distance from the node) or device issue rather than a Flip issue. We used our own compatible modem and they were helpful with assisting us with setup. It was also really easy to transfer our account when we moved house.
Intermittent
Intermittent, no good for watching movies, unreliable service. Its cheap so you get what you pay for.
The flip internet connection is very…
The flip internet connection is very bad and poor always cuts out and also speed is unstable
IN EVERY WAY THE WORST COMPANY EVER!!!
First of all they send you a used and literally filthy modem for $50!! Then they said that it is included in their Terms and Conditions that they will send you a used modem, which is a lie, I read it through already! Then the internet speed is ridiculously slow. They also overcharged me by $27.3 and they wanted to refund me only $25.. so they not only overcharge me but even got the refund amount wrong! Then the refund never comes! They say it should reflect in my next invoice that presumably also will be botched up! Then they claim that they will send a refund for the dirty used modem which only will be $20 instead of the $50 I paid. Still no refund comes through!! The technical support average waiting time is 45 minutes at best, or you are lucky if they ever pick up at all! While the sales team and the customer service refers to them every single time you may have a problem! Just save yourself the stress and lengthy waiting hours and don't sign up for them! THE WORST COMPANY EVER!!!
Price bait stink internet
I thought it was 15$ a month which would make up for the slow and shaky connection, but 15$ a week adding up to $60 a month you could find much better options near that price range don’t be fooled by the price bait. The internet is slow as and half the time I have to use my own mobile data because of poor connection. Don’t recommend
Recommend avoid if you can
The internets slow as, but i didnt mind at all cause of the low cost. that said it wasn't up until they randomly cancelled my internet out of the blue. the next day i called them up thinking it was my modem having problems cause i was 20$ in credit the day it happened. After a 40 min wait on the phone with a terrible customer service dude that sounded like he was reading off a script he gave us 3 different excuses on why our internet was cancelled and failed to help resolve the issue without extortion. the only solution to there problem was a re-connection bullsit fee of 25$ we had to pay. we also always keep it paid off every week which doesn't make much sence.
I would recommend avoiding using FLIP at any cost of able. we plan on changing soon enough
Just joined Flip and very impressed…
Just joined Flip and very impressed with the connection to their network. We had a modem already and within 24 hours of placing the order we were up and running with no technical experience required - just had to turn the modem on.
Speeds are about 30/10 which is enough for 3 people in our household, we moved from a 4G connection which is similar speeds and provides enough speed for us to watch Netflix and stream videos etc.
I can imagine it would struggle with gaming and heavier network usage which is the only reason I haven't given a 5 star rating. But for a basic service, with a competitive price point this is perfect for us!
Cheap Yes but what a stressful experience.
I am a new customer from the day my account was set up I had 2 account numbers so my payments were going into the wrong acc and was sent a overdue payment which was paid to a different acc had to call the technical team to fix this and the modem I brought from them was faulty couldn't connect and had to wait a further 5days for a new one which I received and was charged for those weeks without wifi untill I rung and had it reversed what a pain in the butt then I sent the prepaid modem back and they again charged me 25$ for that which was not explained to me at all that I would be billed for the delivery even though they had sent me a broken modem and had to wait a week for a new one without internet that I had paid for grrr so I rung again and still had to pay for it but they could only credit it back on the next bill I honestly wish I had not signed back up but I hope they tidy their bullish!t up. Very stressful.
NOT RECOMMENDED
NOT RECOMMENDED. Total rip off. You almost have to pay for everything For the service which is not WORKING!
