Your Delivery Service STINKS!

This is a review of two halves.

Importantly I ordered Quick Step LVT Flooring for my kitchen which is currently being installed. The price was great and the order went smoothly enough. Absolutely no problems there. That's the end of the good bit.

I ordered for delivery yesterday (Friday) as I needed my builder and another person to be in when the delivery arrived. (I am disabled following surgery). I was promised a call or text with a 2 hour time slot on the day. It didn't happen and I even emailed you with my phone number again asking for the slot. There was no response or reply.

I called Flooring Discount and was told they were again having issues with the logistics company they use. I was told this has been a problem for some time. I explained the need and was told that they would contact the delivery company and get back to me shortly. I called back an hour later as nobody had contacted me and was told that my order was at 'Depot 142' and it was unlikely I would get it that day.

I googled Depot 142 and 'Logistics' and identified the Company who had my items and I called them. They said a driver had gone off because of a family problem. The call taker said there were 16 other unhappy customers and claimed that she couldn't have called to let me know as she was too busy and there were over a hundred customers they had let down. (One driver does not have over a hundred deliveries in a day!)

The flooring supplier had told me that it cost £75 them to deliver my flooring. I paid for that. It didn't actually cost them anything as it was incorporated in the cost of my flooring.

I was promised a service that I didn't get.

The flooring was delivered today and left on the pavement in the rain. I had to call a friend to carry it in for me. I had received no promised call or text (again).

Both Flooring Direct and the Logistic Company told me that the driver would, on this occasion, carry the 7 boxes of flooring into my house. The driver refused saying it was not his job. He actually left it in front of my car so in any event I could not have gone out.

Flooring Direct - the Logistics Company also told me that they had emailed you yesterday morning, explaining your orders would not be delivered but when I called you told me that you did not know why the delivery had not taken place.

You need to get your act in order. I felt fobbed off.

You offer a great price but your service is absolutely rubbish. You must take responsibility for the delivery service you use and it doesn't help for your staff to tell me yesterday that you are always having problems with them. I know you said you have tried other Logistics Companies and they are bad as well but that doesn't wash.

I told both you and the Logistics Company that I am a Journalist and am writing a piece about my whole house renovation. I will be including this.

(By the way, all my phone calls are automatically recorded if you feel the need to challenge my version of events and I will be leaving Feedback on the Logistics Company too.)

Absolutely awful

Absolutely awful! I placed an order with this company to have my flooring delivered a few days before I went away on holiday. It was not delivered on time and I was told it would come while I was away. I agreed for my mum to be there to unlock the door as she is severely disabled so is incapable of lifting anything. I was told it would be slid inside the house for me. This was not done, it was left on a pallet outside completely blocking the walk way. I had to pay someone to come and take the flooring inside. After coming home from my holiday I made at least 10 phone calls, all of them unanswered! When I finally spoke to the sales team who I had dealt with originally I was told to email the office which I have done twice and I am still yet to recieve any kind of communication from this company! Absolutely terrible service!

Horrendous horrendous company

Horrendous horrendous company. Danny thinks he knows everything about flooring. Heaven forbid that a customer can have something wrong with their flooring.

Unwillingness to help. Terrible fraudulent company. Buyer be wary of purchasing from this horrific company. Danny loves to give it all that. A typical lying salesman.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!
You will live to regret it.

We will be contacting our bank, to let them know that we received damaged hood. And that flooring direct are unwilling to send new flooring out to cover this.

Many other companies sell the same product, look around. If you reach Danny then you will have a problem.

Excellent Supplier

I purchased some Quickstep flooring from another well known supplier, after previously using them, but when it didn't arrive on the specific delivery date I was told that they had run out of stock and it would take 4 weeks to arrive. I had did a few Google searches and came across Flooring Direct.
I could see that they had the flooring in stock and after speaking to them directly, our flooring was successfully delivered 3 working days later. The team were excellent, great communication, fantastic price and reliable!
I would definitely recommend Flooring Direct and will be using them again in the future.

Illegal costs when returning goods.

Consumers have rights when purchasing goods online under The Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulation 2013. These rights allow you to return goods within 14 days of receipt of those goods. The supplier of the goods are NOT allowed to charge you any fee for reimbursement on return.

The reason I mention this is that this company along with many other flooring companies try to charge a restocking fee which range from 20 - 30%. This is illegal - it is in breach of the regulations. This company tried to claim the cost of the original delivery charges (which were free but ended up not being when returning) and stating they were going to charge a 20% restocking fee. On top of this they provided no assistance in returning the goods stating the goods had to be returned on the original pallet and shrink wrapped.

As the original delivery company did not leave the pallet this meant a cost of £100 to get it collected, shrink wrap it, put it on a pallet and return it.

I don't think this company is any different from a number of online flooring companies but stand up for your rights and if you are having problems get Citizen's Advice involved.

I received a full refund (not including the cost of return) - but it took a lot or arguing and knowledge of my rights.

Reply from Flooring Discount

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We sincerely apologise for any frustration and inconvenience you experienced during your recent purchase and return process.

We genuinely appreciate your understanding that the practice of charging a restocking fee is not unique to our company. This fee is a cost we incur from our service providers, and it is applied to ensure we can continue offering our products at the most competitive prices. Without this fee, we would be forced to raise our overall prices, which would affect all our customers.

We understand that the logistics involved in returning items, including the requirement to use the original pallet and shrink wrap, can be cumbersome and costly. We are continually reviewing our processes to find ways to improve our service and make it more customer-friendly.

Your feedback is invaluable to us, and we are committed to addressing the issues you've raised to enhance our customer experience. If there is anything further we can do to assist you, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and once again, we apologise for the inconvenience caused.

Kind regards,
Flooring Discount
