It states on the tub its ORIGINAL but also new improved taste/flavour CAN'T BE BOTH. I complained online directly to them as i bought 2 tubs in TESCO as it was good on price, binned em both, looks far far paler, tastes awful and most of all it destroys the bread it doesnt bloody spread!!!!!, They sent me a 4 quid voucher which Ive also binned, I'm now happy with an ALDI own brand, go back to the original recipe, they did this using cheaper oils a few years ago, and i stopped then.
Flora is dead
I've been using Flora since it was born decades ago. I loved the green tub original. But what on earth have they done to it ? It has lost its sweet taste. The texture is like muck. It's impossible to spread. It won't even stay on the knife as you try to lift it up to spread it. How the producers can decide that this new version is better, is beyond my comprehension. I have moved on to other brands now. I never ever buy Flora now. And l will never buy it again. Disgusting 🤮🤮🤮🤮
Why?
After using Flora for over 10years I unknowingly bought a tub of the new recipe. After trying to use it I thought it was just a bad batch. However, after a second purchase, the same result. A very poor texture that's virtually impossible to spread as it just years the bread. Trying it on toast,it doesn't melt into the toast and leaves an unappealing, greasy film on top. Oh, and the flavour is really unsavoury. Two tubs in the bin, food waste. Looking for an alternative. Strange how companies announce new and improved with a fanfare, but quietly slipped in the changes. Did Flora know it was this bad?
The new Flora
I have used Flora for years and been really happy with it. However, the new recipe is revolting and I cannot eat it. I won't be buying any more
Herd mentality
I Am not complaining about your product,I am complaining about your advert in Asda magazine calling people like me a( non vegan )"classic herd mentality" who on earth thought that was a good remark..you sound like the "woke" brigade that can only say nasty remarks.
The new Flora isn't good
The new Flora isn't good. I've switched to Clover which is the nearest I could find to the old Flora.
New recipe Flora is dreadful
New recipe Flora is dreadful, both as a spread and for baking. Taste and texture awful. Why have they changed? It was ok before. Looking for alternative now.
Disappointed. Good things don't last.
Have used both Original and Light for the past two years, and loved the creaminess and taste. Such a shame the recipe has been changed. It is tasteless now and hard as concrete to spread. Working my way through other brands now.
Big big mistake!
As per the other recent reviews I am dismayed with the new recipe Flora. Been using it for more years than I care to mention but this will be the last tub. Totally unspreadable and a really unappealing taste (TBH it’s like spreading lard on your bread). Ah well - all good things come to an end….and there will be much better alternatives out there!
Not flora original
I was using flora margarine for about a year. Not now that the manufacturer has changed the recipe. The taste and colour is different. You now added coconut fat. Still you label it as flora original. I'm yet another customer you have lost.
The new recipe is horrible and doesn't…
The new recipe is horrible and doesn't melt on toast or jacket potatoes it doesn't spread on bread. I will not be purchasing it again. YUCK 🤮. Update I have tried all different options and the best is clover so clover now has my business
Tasteless cheap product
I have read and agree with all the other reviews. Does not spread, tasteless and no longer as healthy to eat as it was. Been buying this for years. I am another customer you have lost.
Unhappy with new flora recipe
Used flora for years but now got a new recipe tub. Can't spread it and taste is different. Very sad as it's now not easy to use for sandwiches as it just rips the bread. Haven't used for baking yet.
Guess out family will be looking for a new spread.
What’s happened to Flora natural…
What’s happened to Flora natural margarine, been using it for years……now about to change brands due to lack of taste and harder to spread, and NO my fridge has not got colder !! Surely still displaying “ original “ must come under trade descriptions!
Oh dear....
I've been a fan of Flora original for what seems like decades but it's obvious from the latest purchase (and previous reviews) that a lot has changed - ingredients, texture and colour but, most importantly, taste. I do acknowledge that a vegan option and natural ingredients (as well as the reduction in the use of palm oil) are important factors but for me, if anyone is remotely interested, it's a switch to Aldi 'olive'.
What on earth has happened to Flora????
My husband has used (and praised) Flora for many many years. Today he took a "new look" tub from the fridge and when he tried to spread the Flora declared there was something wrong. It was so much harder and would not spread easily. He is not a happy man! Why oh why do manufacturers change things so drastically and obviously not for the better. Another lost customer!
FLORA ORIGINAL
I have been using Flora for years, it's the only butter that I can eat. It's horrible, hard and won't spread on bread. Looks like a really cheap marg spread and the taste is awful too. Why they have to change things I don't know but certainly won't be buying again.
Why change?????
I've been using Flora Original for many years.
All of a sudden they change the recipe, it's now hard and tasteless. No Omega 3.
WHY OH WHY looking at other reviews they have lost a lot of customers, all for the rush to vegan status.
Oh well I'm another lost customer.
It’s so unfortunate that Flora has…
It’s so unfortunate that Flora has changed its recipe. It’s now completely unspreadable and no longer buttery. It’s a real pity as I’ve bought Flora for many years but will now have to use an alternative butter.
The product receipe has changed
The product receipe has changed. It does not contain omega 6 which is protective for your cardiac health. It now contains coconut oil which is high is saturate fat. You can also taste the coconut which is not pleasant. It is also hard ,and more difficult to spread.
This product is not the Original.Flora. a huge unpleasant change. Will not be buying anymore.
