Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 822 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers found the service disappointing, with staff often described as unhelpful, cold, and rude, and onboard services extremely limited, requiring payment for basic items like headphones and meals. The booking process and customer service were frequently criticized, with reports of cancelled flights, lack of communication, and difficulty reaching a human representative, often leading to additional costs and stress. The pricing structure was also a major concern, as many felt that despite initial low fares, the numerous extra charges for baggage, seating, and in-flight amenities made the overall cost comparable to or even higher than other airlines. However, some customers also noted punctual departures and, in a few instances, praised the friendly and helpful staff, particularly when flying in premium class where amenities and service were better.

Shockingly Poor Service and Zero Accountability

My recent experience with Norse Atlantic Airways was nothing short of appalling. This was a P&O‑operated charter, but Norse were the operating carrier — and they made it painfully clear why they should not be trusted with customer service, passenger welfare, or even basic professionalism.

After a significant flight delay, I attempted to submit a compensation claim. Norse’s “customer service” consists of a useless chatbot that loops endlessly and an automated email promising that an agent will be in touch “shortly”. No one ever responds. No follow‑up. No human contact. No accountability. It feels deliberately obstructive, as though they are hoping customers will simply give up.

The onboard experience was just as bad. The cabin crew on the return flight were completely unprofessional. One stewardess literally threw hot wraps at passengers while shouting “hot hot”, as if safety and courtesy were optional extras. It was chaotic, careless, and frankly dangerous. This is not a minor service issue — it’s a basic failure in training and passenger care.

Norse may try to hide behind the fact that this was a charter, but they were the operating airline. They are responsible for the delay, responsible for the compensation process, and responsible for the behaviour of their crew. On every one of those fronts, they failed.

I would strongly advise anyone considering flying with Norse to think twice. An airline that ignores customers, avoids its legal obligations, and allows such poor standards onboard should not be operating. This experience has completely destroyed any confidence I had in them

Do NOT use them.

Cancelled our flights, still waiting for the mandatory EU compensation and refunds half a year later. Never had a single response from them

Absolutely disgraceful the way this…

Absolutely disgraceful the way this company treat their customers. I booked a four night trip for my son’s 21st birthday
We booked 6 months in advance. After 2 months they changed out flight dates.
We had to change plans and try to sort with the hotel and transfers which was a nightmare.
Three weeks before they were due to fly they cancelled both departure and return flights changing the dates completely ( again)and also cutting their stay by one night leaving meaning they only had two days.
The hotel could not offer the room twin room we had pre booked at short notice and they had to squeeze into a small double.
No apology or compensation offered.
The most stressful experience .

Norse premium London to Cape Town…

I flew London to cape town in Norse premium. Was very impressed to be honest. The seat is huge for a premium economy product with an excellent recline. This really made a difference to feeling fresh after 11 hours. Service was very good too, main meal and light meal plus regular drinks. Few more drinks offered eg tea and coffee between main service would be nice. Staff were super friendly. The food was ok but more of an economy standard meal. Decent variety of drinks including wine. We boarded the aircraft within a minute and checked in in under 5. Upgrade to premium economy was £360 extra which I thought offered decent value. Low cost upgrade would be some nicer toiletries in the bathroom.

We were booked on a flight to…Bridgetown Barbados

We were booked on a flight to Bridgetown Barbados by P&O in January 26. It’s an experience I never want to repeat. We where held on the tarmac for over 6 hour’s before we where told the reason for the delay, and then only told that a problem with the aircraft needed signing off, and no one in the US could do this. We then had to make our own way to the airport hotel. No food or drink was offered whilst we where on the tarmac. We eventually had a meal at 21.00 at the hotel.
We then had to be back at the airport for 5am. Again we where held on the tarmac for a further 4 hours, reason, the in flight food hadn’t been delivered! Eventually we did take off! I would refuse to be carried by Norse Atlantic ever again. We have only had acknowledgement emails from them since our arrival back in January.

Awful airline

Awful airline - I'm surprised they don't charge you to breathe!

Awful airline.
We booked with Norse to get home from Thailand during the Iran war polava.
Cost us £2300 for two tickets direct to London Gatwick.
The flight was nearly 6 hours delayed.
Charged us for everything, even the cheap headphones for the in-flight screens during a 13-hour flight.
Drink and snack prices were ridiculous and charged in Dollars, so our bank charged us as well for the conversion.
I have tried to claim for the delayed flight, but to no avail, no phone number to contact the airline customer services, just a chatbot that tells you they have no record of your claim!
Ask to talk to an agent, and you get a reply saying it can take up to 5 days for an agent to respond!
Put a claim in, and the email response says it can take up to 10 weeks for a response.

The worst airline ever if I could give a zero I would. They promised me a refund never got the full amount. They changed my flight and sent me an email and when you’re out of the country, you don’t always check your emails please please please do not book with Norse.

Flight N0501 athens to New York

I had a flight from athens to New York, flight no. N0501. I just want to say, Great Customer Service from all staff in Athens. Jason is very friendly and helpful, such a good vibes and the girl who handles the excess baggages. Keep up the good work.

One of the worst support experiences I’ve had

I travel frequently all year between Europe and the United States for work, and unfortunately this has been one of the most disappointing customer service experiences I have had with any airline.
My issue was not only the refund decision itself, but the complete lack of accessible support when I needed assistance. The online chat was not helpful, no clear phone support was available, and responses by email took an excessive amount of time. After waiting many days, I only received standard template replies with no real attempt to understand the situation. When an airline sells international tickets, customer support should match that responsibility. In this case, it did not.
Based on this experience, I would not feel confident booking again.

Surprised this Airline is not boycotted…

Surprised this Airline is not boycotted yet or banned. What a joke, when I had to cancel my flight last year due to a medical reason, I requested a refund, that time they responded straight away and offered me credit to book in future for any destination up to a certain time frame. I have queries about a new booking and cant get hold of anyone via the chat bot (which takes you round in circles)and when an agent emails, he keeps asking me to provide details of my query so I have to keep explaining the same thing over again. It has been 2 months now and my account doesn't show any credit and hence why I'm getting in touch and they keep discontinuing certain destinations that I can choose flying out from London such as - Miami and LA and due to the war situation I do not want to go to USA at the moment. They don't have any bookings for Thailand until September which doesn't align with my timings and the redemption date of the voucher is coming up soon and I can't plan anything. Although they are low budget, they operate like a scam - this airline should be taken down immediately!

Avoid Norse Atlantic Airways

Avoid Norse Atlantic Airways at all costs.

I booked a round-trip flight (Athens–New York–Athens) for three passengers. After following their instructions and confirming a schedule change on the return flight, the airline silently cancelled the outbound flight with zero notification, zero explanation, and zero assistance.

No email. No alternative offered. Nothing.

To make matters worse, their customer service platform was completely unusable, effectively blocking any attempt to manage the booking or resolve the issue. Customer support was generic, and ultimately useless.

The only way to recover the money was through a chargeback via the bank. The airline did not proactively resolve anything.

This is not just poor service, it’s a complete breakdown of basic airline responsibility. If something goes wrong, you may be left entirely on your own.

Great experience with Norse flying to…

Great experience with Norse flying to USA competitive pricing. Flight was on time. They were very strict with baggage weights but to be expected.
Plentiful food and drink on the flight and a great entertainment system with a good selection of films, flight was on time.

They did overbook our flight despite us selecting seats which I can never understand and sent an email 24 hours before offering a discount if we could change to an alternative, this did make us slightly nervous that we would have issues at checking in and with no phone contact it’s certainly a worry just to get an email the day before. So we arrived early just to ensure we got on with no issues

If I could leave zero stars I would

If I could leave zero stars I would, they charge u for everything if they could charge you to breathe air they would, they advertise these low prices but by the end you end up paying more than just going with a normal airline.. I would never fly them again and do not recommend.
