Excellent Service all round!

I was regularly updated on my vehicle, the systems were very easy to use and all staff were very friendly, most notably Jade. I want to thank all the repair staff for their efforts in returning my car looking very clean and professional whilst also fixing the damage to my vehicle. Thank you very much all!

9th Aug 2025

9th Aug 2025 – scraped car on side of house – scratched two panels on back passenger side left hand side of car and scratched plastic trim. Mazda CX-30 – Mazda red paint is very hard to do as it is multi-layered.
Reported accident to Tesco insurance who handed it off to FMG to organize repairs.
11th August – AR Hub Crawley texted to say they their team had been contacted by FMG to arrange a booking date for our repair.
11th Aug-24th Sept 2025 – car was ‘repaired’ once by AR Hub Crawley (after just over a week) and returned in the wet to get acceptance on work done – work was not to a high standard ‘Orange peel’ effect. Asked mechanic if they could actually fix it to the rest of the car as Mazda paint is ‘hard to do’ and they assured us it was something they could fix – took the car away and another week later was brought back – looked exactly the same i.e. orange peel. Did not accept work but garage owner said it was the ‘best they could do and would not take the car back’. We mentioned we would get an independent assessment of the work and the garage said they would do the same.
10th Sept – call to FMG (7 mins)
25th Sept 2025 - Davis Group’s independent engineer to assesses car and finds unacceptable work by AR Hub (but doesn’t notice broken trim underneath car as a thorough inspection of full car not done but only where paint work is).
Oct 2025 – FMG did not contact us to offer another repairer to fix the work so we found one who could do Mazda red paint repairs. Over an hour away but has track record of Mazda repairs.
Follow-up with FMG to get approval on repair works. Lack of communication between any of the relevant parties and chasing resolution (I think at this point they are hoping we will ‘go away’!)
14th Nov – call to FMG (24 mins)
18th Nov – 2 calls to FMG (18 mins), (10 mins)
24th Nov – Call to FMG (17 mins)
26th Nov – Call to FMG (25 mins)
17th Dec – Call to FMG (8 mins)
Nov-Jan – many calls to new repairer to give details and get advice (and they are also in contact with FMG) and they said in the entire of their 3 decade career, never had such difficulties getting repairs approved!
22nd Jan 2026 – Call to FMG (16 mins) – told manager would call but instead got email that the company were having a meeting to discuss the case.
23rd Jan 2026 – Call to FMG (16 mins) – email with update to case – call to repairer mentions FMG have approved 1 hour (?!) for buffing and polishing the orange peel effect of paint (which 3 other sprayers have mentioned is not possible but we will try it). No mention of what is going to happen about mismatch of paint colour – I suppose you can buff paint to change colour! Or any mention of fixing broken plastic panels on the underneath of back left side.
Repairer is over an hour away and no mention of what should happen if polishing and buffing paintwork does not work and judging by speediness of FMG, it won’t be in the same day to approve any work so in the meantime supposed to drive a car around with damage obvious?! STILL NO RESOLUTION OVER 5 MONTHS!

Great service…

Got my car back today from the Exeter garage near airport after going in through my insurance due to an accident and it looks good as new I couldn't be happier as I absolutely love my car. The people I dealt with were friendly and communication was great from start to finish.

My car was repaired at the Ilkeston…

My car was repaired at the Ilkeston branch and I am extremely happy with the first class repair that was done.
The reception staff were really helpful and very pleasant.
The assessor that dealt with my vehicle explained everything that had been done.
I would highly recommend this garage

This was my first experience of having…

This was my first experience of having an accident. My Tesco car insurer uses FMG Ilkeston as one of its garages for repairs. The whole procedure from the start with the breakdown collection of my car to the FMG garage in Ilkeston went straight forward and the regular communication between the garage and myself by email kept me informed every step of the way My car is now back from the garage and all the work has been done . Looks good .

Excellent service and repairs following…

Excellent service and repairs following an accident and insurance claim. FMG Hull were the insurers approved garage and I received updated throughout from a friendly/helpful service team. Very happy with my vehicle repairs too.

The service was good

The service was good, and the repairs were of a high-quality, unfortunately, the courtesy car was not sufficient for my needs as they only have very small cars. Other than that, a good friendly service would have no problems using these again.

Recommended

Repairs completed to a high standard. FMG contacted me at every stage of the repair to update me. Vehicle returned and very happy with the repairs. Would certainly recommend to others.

Super efficient

Super efficient . Staff are proactive and friendly. Jade called with regular updates and I had clear information on what was happening. Excellent !

Great Communication & High Quality Work

I am very happy with FMG and would love to use them again myself if they took on private work.

My car was sent to FMG by my insurer after a damaged front end. I hadnt heard of them, but they had positive reviews online so that was reassuring. I am very particular about my cars, especially as this one has 3 stage pearl paint, which is notoriously difficult to match.

From the start their service was excellent. They collected the car, provided a courtesy car, and called after inspecting the damage. The technician clearly knew what he was talking about and even raised the 3-stage pearl paint himself, which immediately put me at ease.

Their communication was great throughout. Although the repair took around three months due to some parts coming from Japan, I was sent text updates every few days, which really was a nice touch.

When the car was ready to be collected there was snow on the ground. And when I said I would have to delay until after the snow cleared (because it is a rear wheel drive sports car) they then offered to trailer it to my house. The whole car had been cleaned once repaired which again was a really nice touch, showing that they care about the customer.

The quality of the work was fantastic. The paint match is spot on, despite the bumper also being a very complex three-colour finish. On closer inspection even the small details impressed me, such as them drilling out an old snapped headlight bolt that could easily have been left.

The work comes with a one year warranty, and if I ever need any bodywork done again (although fingers crossed I wont!), FMG will be my first choice.
