Folksy UK review

As a seller the Folksy UK site is easy to use. I have recently had my first sale the feedback from the customer was great. The only downside for me is that Folksy has suggested that I need to promote my items on social media. I am not a user of Instagram, Pinterest or social media platforms to do this I would need to be shown what to do, as that’s the way I learn. There is nothing in place for this. The question is will I make enough sales to cover my costs and fees?

Great UK based platform

I love to support UK businesses, and what greater way than selling on a UK platform. It's always good to get support from a person when you have an issue, and Folksy provide a friendly community.

Handmade sellers choose Folksy

I'm a seller and Folksy is wonderful! Simple to use, looks great and real humans, that are easy to get hold of, if there is a problem.
I am also thrilled to see that the items for sale really are handmade and not mass produced.
Thank you Folksy.

Nice Gifts

As a customer, I cannot fault this company, although it's largely the sellers that make it great. I bought 2 gifts and both items were beautiful! As a seller, however, I am disappointed. Sales are virtually non-existent and the only item I've sold barely covered the listing fees, which has left me out of pocket. Consequently, I am looking for a new platform to sell my handmade sun catchers.

Happy Seller!

As a seller, I can’t praise Folksy enough. Very easy to create and maintain a shop, great communication.
The main reason I chose Folksy is the use of PayPal, I don’t have online banking, so this was essential.

The perfect ethos

Ideal ethos that aligns with my small business of hand made, illustrated ceramic pieces. It was very clear how to start selling and communication was and is always prompt, clear and friendly

Buyers beware

I have been emailing Folksy for several weeks now after a purchase wasn’t sent to me. I firstly emailed the seller with no response, then contacted Folksy who have repeatedly advised me to wait 48 hours for the seller to respond. They even sent an email asking for a review of my purchase!!! So, approximately 5 weeks on I have no glass birds and am down £24.25. Appalling service.

Still finding my feet

I'm quite new to Folksy and still finding my way around the platform. The Folksy forums are really helpful though. I find it easy to upload my items and the dashboard is really useful. I am yet to discover how I thank a customer for a review but I'll keep looking!

A Sellers perspective

As a seller, the seller pages are very easy to use to input new items and edit them.
Giving sellers an opportunity to raise their profile, even if it means paying a little more would be helpful.

Great feedback, thank you. We have started to scope out ways in which we can support sellers to increase their profile and gain more visibility as we appreciate this is something some sellers need, especially when their stating out.
