Very bad experience with Auto Europe. They outsourced the rental to Sixt, no ability to pickup after hours, could not get the car that we reserved (automatic).

DONT BOOK WITH THIS BUNCH OF AMATEURS

they acknowledge their website has a major defect which means you are left stranded without a car leaving you out of pocket and then refuse point blank to compensate you even though it is their error

I have been using billigermietwagen.de for many years and through them AutoEurope most of the time, and until now I never had any problems.
Now, booking a rental car with AutoEurope for Scotland, I ended up being refused at the airport in Edinburgh Airport and losing my original payment.
Back in Germany, I did ask AutoEuope for help in the matter but never even had an answer from them. It seems that it is anothor of those companies that take your money and then totally forget about you and whatever support or help you might need at some point.
This was the last time I used AutoEurope.

Shambolic when there is a problem …the designated hire car agent was nowhere to be seen at Lisbon Airport, the collection time was 22:00 and with flight delay we were at the meeting point for 22:30.
After many calls and hours of trying I could only speak to someone in the US whom said they had no authorisation to touch the booking. It cost €100.00 Taxi. This morning I have firstly simply been transferred to the local car hire company, who also seem not to know how to put this matter right, and then after chasing Auto Europe am told they cannot (will not?) help...seemingly oblivious to my point that my agreement is with Auto Europe and they but my request out to the market. It is now 10:15 the following morning and we are no further forward.
Never Again will I use Auto Europe.....
