They have the worst customer service I've ever experienced

They have the worst customer service I've ever experienced.
I've been calling them for 4 days to try to renew a paid domain and their employees tell you they'll call you back but they never do, not to mention the wait time to be answered on their line.
They don't answer to emails.
They made me give up on my domain and create another one.

Do never buy anything from this company, it's the worst thing you'll do.

Awful experience

Awful experience. Customer service is rude and completely unhelpful. Fully regret using their service, wish we moved to NameSilo sooner. We had a ticket which took months for a response, and even then they never solved it. They didn't allow us to register domains for our legitimate purposed either.

What a total let down freenom has…

What a total let down freenom has become. I used them for at least two years solid. Then referred someone to freenom, and now I'm embarrassed. Freenom needs to have its site banned effective immediately! They paid for a domain and it said "pending." Near the bottom it said "paid." Later I checked behind it to see if I could pay for the domain. At first it wasn't available....within less than 10 minutes, it was showing available to to purchase. I called 877 872 9246 which was listed as the number to contact freenom, turns out to be a third party company, yet they had no clue of who or what is freenom. Obviously freenom has turned out to be a scam. Shame on you freenom

Most HORRIBLE registrar

Sorry, it is impossible to give ZERO STARS - which is what they deserve.

Started with "no problems" registering a free domain for a project... perfect (I host my own DNS - worked fine)

Next I transferred a few customer domains for the low price... worked too...

THEN the ess-8tch-eye-tea hit the FAN...
request to transfer 3 more domains to them...
IBAN payment rejected by their bank (no messages)
Ticket opened - changed to paypal... so far so good...
ONE out of three DID transfer but NOT listed in my control panel... ticket opened - NO REPLY
Requesting transfer and access to domain... NO REPLY
(after 10 days of NO ANSWER & NO ACTION)
1 domain expired
I got NEW EPP codes and transferred to a 3rd registrar... (in progress now - had to pay EXTRA for the expired domain now)

THEN they changed ALL my "free" domain to "FRAUD" just like described by the others here in Trustpilot... because I nicely requested a refund???

HORRIBLE registrar, no answer, money still STOLEN... now opening dispute at PayPal and filled a full complaint at ICANN (my first in 20 years!)

DO NOT TOUCH WITH A 10ft pole....

AND NOTE: No answer to eMail OR tickets... JUST NONE!!!!

PS: WARNING! Another "sneaky feature" - when you request to transfer "away" from them they send you a link in eMail which, unlike 'normal registrar' is pre-filled with the "reject" keyword... NO option to "accept" - But easy to 'fail' your transfer if you are not suspicious of this FRAUDSTER!

99% fraud

99% fraud. Like "trojan horse", good until they see the opportunity to scam you.
I had a 3-character domain name, including the TLD part, since 2017, which I was renewing until 2020. In 2020, I "failed" to renew it because of their shady payment system ("Verotel"), or when discovered their scam, transfer it to any other registry.
Why did I fail to even transfer, instead of raising multiple support tickets? Because the EPP or "Transfer Authorization code" Freenom provided had invalid character(s) in it which the recipient registry wasn't able to process, or Freenom intentionally rejecting it while the request were being made to their system.
You may ask what's in it for Freenom. Well just after a week of the "expiration", they listed my domain available for USD *000.00 which I was able to get for $ 9.99

There is NO Free Domain

Ive watched a video presentation of creating a domain at Freenom and was excited to start my first domain. I followed all the guide and picked the one that says FREE. It says email sent for verification, but no email was sent. I did several times but it was just the same as the previous ones, no email sent. The free thing they said is no longer free. And reading most of the reviews in here made me decide not to try this freenom to avoid future headache.

Read more of the reviews below to get rid of future trouble.

To FREENOM, quit scamming people! You should read all the reviews in here by all the people who trusted you and believed in your good service.

Good until a problem occurs

I was very satisfied with Freenom until
from one day to another my Domain just disappeared from my account. I tried to contact them via E-Mail and Phone, no response. Then one day later I opened a ticket and called them several times. It took almost two weeks to resolve the issue. If you're a paying customer this company isn't a scam but their support is horrible. If your website is important to you it's better to pay a bit more.

It's not a scam, just an awful and rude domain registrar

They charged me for transfer and hosting a domain of my property and after I paid they cancelled the transfer and kept the money. They never answered my ticket asking the reason why they had cancelled the domain transfer and requesting my money back. Don't use their services!!!

Update: Five days after they aswered the ticket saying I'm not the kind of client they like to serve and asking me to transfer my domains away from Freenom. Fortunately they give me my money back.

So, they are not a scam, just an awful and rude domain registrar

In my experience I've paid for few transferred domains but... This is the last message received from the "support" staff. They decide to cancel me all my free domains because they decide that are not related with my business. Support is rude and took decision without talking with guest directly. My domains was exactly the name of my company and my registered brands, but, as written in their unuseful "Terms", at their sole discretion they could cancel your online presence by deciding a new violation "on the fly".

No, we will not review our position. Perhaps it's time for you to review the content policies that you agreed to when you registered a free domain.
We decide what a violation is, not you.

We've told you exactly what the violation was.
Registering dozens of domains for just two real websites is domain squatting, which we don't allow.

We will not restore any of these domains, and will not discuss this matter any further.

If you'd like us to cancel and refund your transfer, please let us know.

Kind regards,
Freenom Support

Hi there,
We're not going to argue about this.
If you can't register domains, you can't register domains.
