Trading for me is not something suited for unless your serious about investing large amounts .I gave it a try on both shares in companies and etc. Although the trading platform is ok trading in stocks and shares at my age of 70 is NOT a good idea unless u have substantial capital to risk and loose

Simple, straight forward and zero charges on your Stocks & Shares ISA

Very easy to use the app with enough information to make decisions, albeit it's probably more suited to the simpler side of investment, but that suits me perfectly.

Glossy product, but terrible customer service. I transferred over my SIPP, ISA to Freetrade and it's been a litany of errors since:
* Errors in SIPP pre-sale illustration; issues with SIPP transfers; delayed crediting of transferred proceeds; delayed in specie transfer; transfers marked as complete that are not; wrong answers from AI bot
- Raised a complaint about all of these, inaccurate answers in the response from the team. Sent a follow up email on 29 June asking for clarification (almost 6 weeks ago), despite follow ups via in-app chat, and the promised 3 working days automated reply, I've still heard nothing
* errors in my pension annual statement - flagged to team, burden on me to provide proof, they're now working to resolve and said it will be re-issued "within the next couple of months once the fix is complete" - no proactivity to monitor, ticket closed despite me asking to keep it open, and final reply in chat being "we are not sure when Platform 1 plans to send out the corrected document"
- again, burden is now on me to check-in and see if the revised statement is issued, and then make a new ticket at what point (who knows), if not done?
What you want from a platform is reliability and trust, especially when you put all your ISA and SIPP into it - what I have from Freetrade is incomplete answers, breakdowns in communication, no trust, no faith. Massively regret moving over.

My Freetrade experience has been great so far. The customer service is super responsive and polite. They handled my queries promptly and properly. The app and webpage is straightforward without confusing metrics or so many advanced tools that could put off inexperienced Investors like me, I am new to investing and currently hold a SIPP in which invest in single shares and ETF portfolio, the app Is straightforward and easy to use which is something I need. I got an account for my child with hargreaves lansdown and I can say their app and webpage are good but more confusing adding some complex metrics that aren't needed for users like me and other bit and pieces that requires investing like a proper job. By this I mean spending a lot of time. While freetrade is quicker, easier, cheaper and user friendly. With this I am not saying Freetrade is basic, it is not! In my opinion I find it way easier than any other, while still being able to invest with informed decision. My portfolio is growing and charges are between super low to none. They do offer memberships for heavy more professional investors in which you have access to other benefits such as enhanced metrics, no fees on US share market etc, I am considering upgrading but since I am just investing in a SIPP I just want to maximise what I invest, while short term investors maybe could use these tools to maximise their sales. Well, that's it for me, I can only say that I am having a positive experience in regards to this platform and their services, so thank you very much and I look forward to retire with your platform even though I have another 30 years to wait 😂

I was looking to move to another provider as I had become a bit disappointed with HLs pricing guide. So upon choosing free trade my 60k investment was moved over and it was a pretty seamless transition. Having also recommended a friend to move over to free trade he duely transferred his 40k. Since then (April) I have not had any 'free shares' which was advertised, very poor when I have put 100k in there company. Going to see what the next few months are like then I may move. Free trade need to up there game .

Great service so far. I find the app easy to use, and there is a wide selection of etf's and stocks. There are even mutual funds and bonds available to invest in, which are not available on other low-cost brokers. Before Freetrade the only way to gain exposure to mutual funds would be via an older more traditional broker.
The platform costs are really low and there is customer support via the app. Only thing is the fx fees are quite high on the free tier, in comparison to other competing low-cost brokers. That said the fx fees are lower on the paid tiers.
Overall ive had a very positive experience with Freetrade.

For the last few months I've been using Freetrade for my investing, and I have to say, it's one of those rare apps that actually does what it says on the tin!
I'm no City high-flyer in a sharp suit shouting "Buy! Sell!" down a telephone. I'm just an ordinary Yorkshire bloke who likes things to be straightforward, honest and reliable—and Freetrade ticks all those boxes.
The app itself is as easy to use as putting the kettle on. Everything is laid out clearly, buying and selling is simple, and you don't spend half your life hunting through menus wondering where they've hidden everything.
Whoever designed it deserves a decent brew and a biscuit.
What really impressed me, though, is the ease of use.
Then there's the customer service. In a world where many companies seem to think "support" means talking to a chatbot that has all the personality of a damp teabag, Freetrade's team have been friendly, knowledgeable and genuinely helpful whenever I've needed them. Quick replies, sensible answers and no messing about—just how customer service ought to be.
All in all, Freetrade has made investing enjoyable, understandable and, dare I say it, almost relaxing. That's not something I ever thought I'd say about the stock market!
If you're looking for an investing app that's easy to use, full of useful information and backed up by cracking customer service, I'd happily recommend giving Freetrade a go.
It's earned five stars from me. As we say up here in Yorkshire... if it isn't broken, don't fix it. Freetrade clearly got it right first time.

S&S transfer taking over 30 days. Long time customer. Freetrade customer service, complaint ownership, and response times all wholly unacceptable. I was given different advice by ill-informed/poorly trained Freetrade CS reps via the embedded chat on the app with them finally instructing me to manually sell down equities at the start of the transfer process to expedite moving the funds to the new cash isa. This I duly did and since regretted. The delays and unresponsive CS team has cost me £hundreds in lost earnings as well as numerous phone calls and follow-ups on the app that have failed to resolve the matter. The receiving (cash isa) party has also requested the authorised transfer on more than one occasion with no response. Freetrade’s behaviour suggests either operational dysfunction or that they are dragging their feet to delay money being moved off platform. This experience has prompted me to consider closing my account entirely and withdrawing all funds and business. They even delayed again last week by asking me to reconfirm transfer (wholly unnecessary) and still did not respond when I reconfirmed and filed a complaint. Given over 30 days have elapsed since the transfer was formally requested via cash isa FS provider, I’m raising a complaint as a breach of Ombudsman and industry standard guidelines for completing this type of transfer. I’ve always found Freetrade to be a good app and platform. But the CS is “very” barebones in my experience. Think carefully before signing up if this is the kind of service you value or might need.

In three years with freetrade, I have never experienced any issues with buying or selling, funding or withdrawing. The costs are minimal and the customer service is excellent. A good template for other companies to follow.

It gives you the opportunity to trade with modest amounts. I also like the large choice of stocks and funds with varying risks

The transfer-in of my Stocks and Shares ISA was trouble free and quick. The Freetrade team kept me informed of the transfer progress through all the stages, which was pleasing and I appreciate their input.
The benefits of being with Freetrade will in many ways pay and I see them as The investor's friend: leading the way.
Many thanks.

I looked at FreeTrade but decided their business model wasn't aligned with my objectives.
I think FT will be under pressure to convert users who are using free services into paying customers. One method that might be employed is to move functionality from the free accounts to paid accounts.

Super clear layout. Easy to add money. Easy to trade.
Clear layout. And free! What's not to like
