Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 60 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Customers frequently faced issues with payment systems, finding them unreliable or unable to process transactions, often leading to unexpected charges. Many felt the resulting fines were excessive and unfair, citing unclear parking signage or restrictions at various locations. Reviewers also found the appeals process difficult, with many rejections, and struggled to contact staff for support, often encountering automated systems. However, some customers reported not receiving initial notices, leading to higher charges, and faced difficulties resolving these issues.

Absolute scammers

Absolute scammers. I unknowingly parked in a car park in Maidstone for longer than the permitted time. A few weeks later, I received a letter saying ‘final notice’ and that I owed £100 fine. This was the first correspondence I ever received, even though the letter stated that previous letter only requested £60. I tried to log an appeal, but it stated that I had a missed the allocated timeslot. Instead, I sent a letter to the given postal address to raise a complaint, I never heard anything back. The week after that I received a bill for £160 from a debt collection agency. I now cannot get any information out of anybody, and the debt collection agency don’t want anything to do with it. G24 are legally not allowed to share my personal information with a third party without my permission whilst in this appeal phase, even though they have gone ahead and shared it with debt collectors.

Scammers

We went to Wickes in Grimsby to look at kitchens. Anyway we ended up speaking to a kitchen designer which took longer than expected. a couple of weeks later we got a penalty notice through the door. So obviously we went on there website and logged an appealed against the penalty. And We never heard anymore from them. Then a month later we received another letter saying, because we ignored the first letter it's now doubled and we must pay the penalty charge. But this time I couldn't appeal against it. So I sent them an email explaining yet again what happened and the fact I lodged an appeal. I received an automated email back off them and heard nothing from them again. Then a month or so later I got a debt collector pestering me, texting and emailing me regarding a "debt". I rang them inquiry about "this debt" they said that it's the debt for the parking notice. So I asked them how did you get my personal data? They said from g24. I told them they had no right to give my personal data! and why are you even calling? It has nothing to do with you! I reminded them that this is not a debt! It only becomes a debt if it goes to court and I'm found liable. Then and only then it will become a debt. so again I've sent an email to both companies telling them to stop harassing me or I'll seek legal advice. If they do decide to take me to court. I'll counter claim for loss of earnings for the day I'm in court and the undue stress and harassment they have caused.
Oh and one more thing. Wickes I'd be having words with this company. Because of all this, I took my business elsewhere. So your now you lost out of a sale of £12,000 Well done g24.

Only given a star otherwise I couldn't…

Only given a star otherwise I couldn't leave a review. Used kenfig car park on 13th May when I found the only ticket machine vandalised and the screen smashed. Wish I'd taken a photo. Anyway, of course I've received a parking charge and, of course, in answer to my written response the company are saying that the machine was in perfect working order on that date so they'll be pursuing the charge. So, in addition to everything that everyone has said so far they're also content to lie about the facts.

Shocking company

Shocking company. Don’t even deserve a star!!! Have emailed twice to ask how I pay my parking fee of £1 explaining that the pay machine had been vandalised and there is no where on their website with a link to pay. Guessed I wouldn’t have a response so I’m expecting a fine any day, which will go straight in the bin.

Birstall - Everlast gym
I went for an open day at the gym. I drove into the car park without noticing the white boards that are pretty much invisible and impossible to read given the structure of the car park. Noone said to me at the gym that I should put my car registration in a tablet which allows for 4 hours parking. So I walked in being totally unaware of the parking arrangement. I stayed for 2 hours 12 minutes. Late April I received a letter to let me know that I was 12 minutes over the limit, so they request me to pay £100. That is £8.33 per minutes!!! I talked to the gym and was advised to object on the grounds that I was in the gym - 4 hours applies - and they will confirm that. I also took pictures of the signs on the ground as I walked to the gym from where I parked my car. Objection is not accepted, pay £8.33 per minutes, £100 in total. If you pay quickly, then £60 which is £5 per minute. Had the signs been visible, I would have made sure that I don't stay over. I think that's clear enough. Cost of living crises, I can't afford £8.33 per minute car park charges!

Parked at Kenfig nature reserve to walk…

Parked at Kenfig nature reserve to walk the dog.
Tried to pay at the machine but it had been vandalised, the QR code which had been stuck up was flagged as fraudulent by my phone, and also said that you had to leave before paying!
After returning to the car we drove to the main carpark by the wardens building to try and pay there, as there were no spaces i dropped the wife off and drove around the car park (out then back in).
The warden told my wife you can pay online within 48 hours so we came home to pay only to find out that i had been charged for each drive through the car park.
There are no terms and conditions listed anywhere on their website or the parking machines. I have emailed them offering to pay the correct fee but i won't hold my breathe judging by the reviews.

These people are thieves

These people are thieves, My PCN was cancelled on 17 march 2023, and apparently refund issued (allowing 28days?). It is now more than 2 months still no refund. there is no phone number , no complaint chanel (since I immediately challenged and it was accepted) I have set 2 reminder via registered post, what do I do now? Either they are just plain crooks or they have ceased business?

Bunch of clowns

I was fined for parking where I work…and have a parking permit. They refused my appeal immediately, gave me an incorrect PCN number so I was unable appeal independently, ignore my requests for a correct PCN number and now, I’m happy to report, are having a hell of a time getting any of these debt collection agencies to stick around to collect their money after I explain they can’t follow the code of conduct they are suppose to abide by.

Good luck finding another one, G24.

I have just paid a £60 fine for 13…

I have just paid a £60 fine for 13 minutes parking whilst I bought some football socks, a football, and a drinks bottle for my son 10 minutes before closing at sports direct. I will not use this sports direct again as a result, nor the shops around it. It was my first time in the area so rather than a welcome to commerce I am now discouraged and shall not return out of sheer spite. I spite thee! I do not consider the signage to have been clear in the slightest, or I quite simply would have paid - I am not to a couple of quid.
By having such an inflexible and poorly executed business model G24 has deterred me from using this space and the shops around the area - I will not go there again. This detracts from the car park itself, which will lose value as no-one will use it, and local businesses. G24, I can solve this problem for you: have a sliding scale of fines according to how busy the car park is expected to be and the time someone stays for, ensuring people are fined proportionately. A comparative study to confirm the cost benefit of this would help to. My fee for this awesome advice? 60 quid.

CRUEL AND HEARTLESS company

CRUEL AND HEARTLESS company. I received a fine on the day I was told my father had days to live and was returning home for palliative care. I had to pick up supplies for this and was 14 minutes over the parking time. They sent the fine to my old address. Due to my bereavement, I did not get this letter until after the 28 window to pay. I sent a letter explaining the full situation, about my father dying, having to pick up supplies, the fact that I had no concept of time at the time because MY FATHER WAS DYING, and they rejected my appeal and made me pay the HIGHER fine of £90. They wouldn't even consider a lower price. Absolutely cruel and heartless behaviour. I hope everyone at G24 feels proud of the work they do.

Carrying out work at the address they operate

It’s becoming impossible for service engineers to carry out work at the addresses in city’s up and down the uk and many use these companies some do not even work for the land owners but have instead zoned areas as under their own control. I just pay them and pass on costs when I can but many service workers are leaving the industry because of these fines/invoices. I feel sorry for the apprentices it’s literally like a days wages. Why would you work for this sort of business

New card only payment terminals in Rochdale - epic fail...

Clearpark have removed the old payment terminals at Rochdale Shopping Centre and replaced them with new card only payment terminals. Not only do they only have one connection to the Internet (required by the new terminals in order to accept payments) but they don't have a means to accept payments over the phone. It's crazy that I have been forced to create an account in order to pay a parking charge of £1.20 with a company that I have no intention of ever dealing with again. Maybe someone should remind them that for something as mission critical as this, they should have more than one Internet connection - with low cost 4G backup circuits readily available, there really is no excuse for installing a system that falls over when the Internet is down.

Avoid Wigan Red Robin Car Park

In Wigan G24 car parks are destroying urban shopping experiences by dictating how long you can and can't spend shopping or going to a sporting event. For a 90 minute match you have 120 minutes total or £100 fine. For shopping you have four hours or 180 minutes (yes, they can't even tell you how many minutes are in one hour). They film you in, film you out and fine you. But hey, didn't you read their "prominent signs" in 11 point type beneath a massive Zone B or such? Well no, actually, because this is deliberate unhelpfulness designed to maximise fine income.

No initial notice - Just a final demand

No initial letter/notice that would have let me pay the reduced amount or appeal, just the final demand. Seems a common theme. If enough people highlight what they're up to, consumer channels will investigate and bring them down.
