Does Not Work At All

At first, the phone worked fine. Then, MMS messages would show up as "Download Message", resulting in them arriving out of order. Then, we couldn't download the messages at all. Then, some SMS and phone calls stopped showing up entirely. Then, the location stopped working and they would not fix it. Do not buy this phone for a child under any circumstance.

BEFORE YOU BUY A GABB PHONE OR WATCH. READ THESE AND CONSIDER WHAT COULD HAPPEN.
1. Your child could end up breaking the phone or watch within the first 10 days.
2. The phone or watch you get for your child could quit working, never work, or could be defective (like the piece of crap devices they are).
3. The device will never get delivered and Gabb makes you overpay. Some people say 3x as much for a new device.
4. Your child could receive spam calls from outside the Gabb wireless firewall.
ALSO HERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT GABB DEVICES THAT MANY PEOPLE HAVE PROBLEMS WITH, SO READ THESE. I ALSO DO NOT WANT PEOPLE OVERPAYING FOR GABB DEVICES!
I purchased a Gabb Wireless watch for my daughter’s birthday. She had the watch less than 10 days. The screen cracked when she set her hand in her desk to write her name on her paper. The watch had a screen protector on it at the time. I reached out to the company, and they said we can order a new watch at full price. They offered the warranty on the new watch, but it would cost 3x as much plus a deductible that’s 1/3 the cost of the watch. Absolute scammy company and customer service.

We have been trying for weeks to discontinue phone service with Gabb wireless. There is no way to contact this company by phone and the website contact is automated providing only general information and making it impossible to make the simple request to discontinue service. Meanwhile they continue to charge my credit card for a service we no longer want. I believe his is passive fraudulent activity that needs to be reported and stopped. I plan to notify my credit card company to stop allowing charges from this company and am seeking legal advice. Any suggestions from the Bbb? Is there any way you can make contact with this company? This is a simple request we would like to be honored. No one should need to go through this just to discontinue phone service from a company!

I have been trying for over a month to get a hold of someone at Gabb wireless. They continue to not answer my emails but will send follow up emails asking if I am satisfied even though nothing has been done. Obviously an automatic email. I have emailed, notified on chat, even took one of their surveys and filled in all my answers asking them to contact me. This company is supposed to be for the safety of children and has zero customer service. They should be absolutely ashamed of themselves, it is disgusting that they are supposed to be protecting children and will not even discuss issues with their parents. Since I have gotten no response I am now trying to cancel our account. Unfortunately you cannot cancel the account without getting a hold of somebody at Gabb wireless which is impossible to do. These people are dragging out account cancellations and making more money when they shouldn't be since there is no way to get a hold of them meaning no way to cancel. I need somebody from Gabb wireless to get into contact with me by phone and cancel our phone line as well as tell me how to ship back the second phone we bought them from them which is unopened and I have been trying to return for over a month.
So after reading this review put some serious thought into not getting a crappy phone that is a piece of garbage that probably won't work when your child tries it.
So I hope this review was helpful and this message/review was clear to all people that are thinking about getting a gabb phone for your child/children. I would recommend these brands. They have more features and you don't need an mp3 player to download music! Trust me buying anything from gabb is a big mistake!

BEFORE YOU BUY A GABB PHONE... READ THIS

(i am a 15-year-old who's had the regular gabb phone for a year and this is a serious and honest review rating not the gabb phone itself but my experience going from a gabb phone to an iphone.)

gabb wireless claims to have the safest phone for kids... no internet at all!!... but, those kids will all grow up into teenagers and adults who will eventually get a "real" phone. gabb makes the process of going from a gabb to another phone, in my case an iphone 13, very difficult!! first of all, i had to change my number, which was frustrating. and i had to manually put all 87 of my contacts into my new phone which included retyping all their phone numbers!!

also, for the pictures, there is just no easy way to transfer pics from a gabb to an iphone. first i transferred them onto my computer and then we tried everything and finally ended up just going to best buy so that they could help us transfer the pics to my iphone because it was that complicated!

worst of all, i have about 6 hours of recordings on my gabb phone (recorded on their voice recordings app) that i wanted to put on my new phone, but we called gabb wireless and they themselves told us that unfortunately it just wasn't possible to transfer those recordings! so now i have to find 6 hours of my time to manually record the voice memos i have recorded for over a year just so i can have them on my new phone!

there are some pros to gabb phones but overall they really arent worth it and are really just a waste of money unless you're a lot younger and don't care that much about your data. i wish my parents would have just bought me an iphone when i was 14 instead of a gabb and just restricted it and then over time, as they thought best, just lifted the restrictions. it would have saved me AND my parents SO much money, time and frustration!!

If I could have never ordered this…

If I could have never ordered this phone my life would be better off. Terrible product marketed as SAFE phones for kids. From the moment I got the phone random texts from random people were constantly happening. As if the number they provided was also with some other carrier. Very inappropriate things were sent to my 10 year old. This would never happen on a real carrier. When I complained and then cancelled my service they charged me $135 and said too bad bye. The music service is also terrible as the only way to put music on the phone is mp3. Do people still use mp3 music downloads.

This company has no technical support…

This company has no technical support team. Our watch only worked for a few months, and there was nobody to help except customer service reps. They told me they have nobody to help with a broken Gabb watch. Their only suggestion was to keep charging it. There was no reason it stopped working. The screen just went black, and it never turned on again.
Even without a working device, it's hard to get out of the contract. Buying another watch is 150 dollars. I lost a lot of money trying to get out of the contract.

Shipped my watch to a non existent…

Shipped my watch to a non existent address.
Argued with me on the phone about it.
They told me I had to call UPS to update the address. I told them over and over again since the entire address is wrong and I am not the shipper I can not change or update the incorrect address they provided UPS.
I somehow, magically, after standing ground and repeatedly asking for a manager got a call back from one while I was on the phone with UPS where he (the manager) was able to hear them say I could NOT update the information.
Paul, the gabb manager I spoke with said he would send me a follow up email.
I had to follow up with the customer service rep I originally exchanged emails with to please have Paul email me back. Hours later I got a vague response saying a new watch was going to be shipped out. No tracking information or further detail was provided. Days later I followed back up requesting the tracking number. Days later he still hasn’t written me back. I called back in and the rep I spoke said they needed to update the address. It’s circles. No one cares. I’m having serious doubts I’ll ever see my watch.

Great concept but their products and…

Great concept but their products and customer service are awful. My daughter broke her first phone and I bought another one which never worked properly. I was on their chat weekly trying to get it to work. They have me do the same thing to the phone each time even though I kept telling them it didn't work the last time. You can't talk to anyone which makes it more frustrating. I finally told them to either send a new phone or I was cancelling. They told me I would be getting a call from their cancellation department which I never did and then eventually got an email stating that they were cancelling my account and were charging me a $200 cancellation fee. I wouldn't have cancelled if they would have provided a phone that worked. Terrible company with terrible customer service.

This product is a literal disease.
My child has been ostracized by his friends, and honestly my husand and I have been avoiding him too. It's corrupting him. I dont know where my son ends and the gabb begins anymore. Customer service hasnt answered a call in months. I think adoption needs to be seriously considered.

Read the fine print people

Read the fine print people! The phone experience was about what you would expect. It's a dumb phone, and it's fine, but the service and surcharges added up and it seemed very overpriced for what was on offer. I requested to cancel three months before the service was up. It ended up costing about $100 more to cancel than if I'd waited three months, as they continued charging for two months after the request plus an exorbitant cancellation fee. Next time, I'll just set up a phone on my own and use a decent cell provider that isn't a money grab.

This may be the worst customer service…

This may be the worst customer service experience of life. Their products are extremely low quality. We purchased a watch for our in May. Within just a couple of weeks the watch stopped charging despite the fact that we followed all of the care and cleaning instructions. The fact is that their products are not durable enough for kids. Our first attempt to correct the issue went ok. We were able to get a replacement charger send to us free of charge. Then within a couple of weeks the problems started again. We limped along with the watch until November 2nd when I engaged the company about a replacement. It is now 28 November and I am still waiting. I haven't heard from customer service in days and was supposed to receive a call from a customer service manager 4 days ago.....nothing. Now they have offered to replace the watch if I pay a $50 cancellation fee. I DON'T WANT TO CANCEL. I want a new watch and I want them to pay for it. I shouldn't be charged for a defective piece of equipment. They should pay the $50 for dragging this out for a month. This company is terrible. Avoid at all costs. There are better options out there.

I had no idea I was walking into a 2…

I had no idea I was walking into a 2 year contract. Everyday my daughter was getting spam calls. At some point she wasn't getting MY calls but any other spam call coming in. After a month we switched HOWEVER I now have to pay $150 to cancel and am getting hit with a tax charge over $50 AND they charged me a month when I already submitted to cancel before I got charged. WTH!!! Save your money as I'm out over $200 for a crappy service.

This company is awful

This company is awful, had the watch for a few weeks before it stopped charging, the customer service rep had me clean it approximately 5 times and send pictures of what I cleaned with, then they issued a return and replacement. After not receiving it, I called back to discover they're no longer taking returns, they didn't bother to notify me, but I could send the watch back for them to clean themselves. I'm sorry but if the charging port isn't clean by now, it's not the charging port. I have a second watch that I ordered on Wednesday for my other child, I requested to cancel that order, I am unable to cancel it since I am outside the 4 hour cancellation window from time of order (also some new policy) but, they will happily accept a return with a $50 restock fee. This company is a joke. There are better ones out there, run away from Gabb.

Bad service!

Purchase a watch for my son as a Xmas gift and it was a total waste of time. The gps feature did not update regularly or accurately defeating the whole purpose of having the watch in the first place. The. It stopped working altogether. When I called customer service they gave me the runaround and never got it resolved, yet every time I called they reminded me of the 2yr contact and early termination fee. Save your money and look for a better option.

Avoid this company!

I bought these watches for my children and at first they worked fine. But then one of the watches stopped charging After my daughter jumped in the pool with it so we purchased a new one. The new one arrived and could not be activated. I literally spent weeks trying to reach customer service to no avail. Either the office was closed or there was a super long wait. About the same time my son‘s watch stopped working. Once again it’s impossible to speak to somebody on the phone when something goes wrong. Finally I managed to get my service canceled. But gab refused to reimburse me for the new watch. And for the months of service we did not have because the devices were not working. These watches are a great idea. Like I said they worked fine at first but when they stopped working there was no customer support available. I would avoid this company at all costs.

Customer service is extremely poor…

Customer service is extremely poor especially compared to other companies like troomi. Phone promised third-party apps are coming soon, but has failed to deliver. Phone is outdated, and their competitors are able to offer better phones at cheaper prices.

Highly recommend going towards troomi. A lot of people are very happier at that company.

Charged $250 with no warning

I purchased my son a Gabb watch to keep in touch with me while I was at work. His phone could ONLY be used outside because of the awful service. Then, I lost my job and came upon hard times after also dealing with failing health. Income is sporadic so I paid our bill when I could. I logged in the other day to pay my bill but instead was charged $250 and my son's line was closed. There was no warning, which seems shady. This cleared my bank account so I don't even know how to pay for my gas to get to work. Gabb has the right to have their own policies but the fact that they didn't warn me about the $250 bill and line closure, the fact it was done "under cover" shows me what a shady business they are. If you're a single mom NEVER ever do business with Gabb. If you can afford it I would recommend a more trustworthy and reliable company or even an unlocked pre-paid phone.
