After less than 10 months the phone stopped charging. I contacted customer service, went thru their help, sent phots, and they said phone had been water damaged. With no signs of water damage I ask... See more

Billing is something to behold

Billing is something to behold. We have one line with Gabb. There are multiple charges per month, and the amount(s) vary from month to month. Nothing like any of my other billing.

Impossible to reach a real human…

Impossible to reach a real human person. Plan pricing is not transparent (was told my plan was $17.99 a month, but billing went from $22.04 and has crept up to $26.41). The location feature in the parent app never works.

Absolutely Horrendous

I've had this phone for a couple years now and even brand new it was plagued by constant issues such as texts disappearing, not being sent and not being received until several hours after they should have been received. The quality of the camera is awful and barely even worth using because its so blurry and slow. The storage space was so bad I had to buy another 3rd party device that cost 60 dollars in order to store more than 50 pictures on this. The audio quality is awful and even if you buy high quality top of the line Bluetooth earbuds the connection is so bad it renders them useless. The fingerprint scanner will randomly delete all your finger prints for no apparent reason and if it doesn't delete them there is a high chance that simply trying to open your phone will result in it crashing. There are many other problems but simply put this phone should only be bought by cheap parents who are to lazy to parent so they buy their kid a crappy piece of garbage that ruins their social lives and makes everything 1000x harder. This company is horrible and should never ever be bought from.

This company is horrible

This company is horrible. The phone never worked, texts were only seen in preview mode. No messages found in text screen/menu - just blank. Ordered and paid extra for music app- that never worked at all. 40 support messages later, I was left with instructions to upgrade and reset multiple times but that never solved the issue. Impossible to speak to a live support agent - only recived "your ticket is open". Cancelled service with in 30 days of activation and was told I do not get a refund on the device or services that were incomplete. I feel frauded and robbed. Do not use this product!!!

Painless replacement of lost phone

Gabb phones are great! They fit the bill for what our teen should be doing with a phone. Coming home from a ski weekend, he lost his phone between the Uber and the baggage drop. The customer service rep, Nicole, could not have been nicer or more patient helping to resume our son's service on his replacement phone. Initially, we had technical issues with his first phone. We found their tech support to also be super polite and patient with us!. Hooray, Gabb!

spam calls/texts--even a porn link...

constant spam calls and texts--even a porn link.... How is this a safe phone?????
I had Gabb change the phone number, but it was no different the second time. Texts often didn't go through. The process to transfer info to the phone is laborious. And the price ended up being $35/month. Can't change anything on the account through the website or app.
I just added a new line and a brand new apple phone to my cell account for a total increase of $26/month. with the new phone, I can manage their usage with parental controls--and it is fully functional.
Of course, we decided to keep the Gabb phones a bit longer and just had them change the number. Now we are past the 30-day return window and can't return the phone....

Gabb Phone Issues

Gabb phone sucks! I got this phone for Christmas in 2020 and the phone hasn't even lasted a year. This phone is more of a potato than a phone, (an expensive, cheaply made potato) and not because its a phone made for kids either. Most of the time the texting and calling doesn't even work. The phones battery was good for about a month, then it just turned to crap and it doesnt even last a day sometimes. The worst part is the monthly bill/payment. They tell you that a "Basic" plan is $20 a month, and the "Plus" plan is $25 a month. I got the Plus plan and they charged us around $35 a month! My parents were beyond mad about that. They said, "Your on my phone too much.", so they grounded me from it for about a month. By the end of the month the bill was still $35! After not even using it for a month!

In conclusion, if you want to get your child a phone, get them a real phone. Even a flip phone would be better and cheaper than this. Just trust your child. Teach them how to take care of a phone. Tell them what they can and can't do on the phone. And if you want, check the phone and see what they are doing on it because at the end of the day, if they didn't pay for it and they don't pay the phones bill, you have every right to go through and check it.

If Gabb is reading this, this is all my personal opinion. I personally know one kid that has this phone and actually enjoys it so I guess its just whatever floats your boat. And P.S, please, please, please add the weather app to the phone. Every kid that I met that has ever had a Gabb Phone says the same thing. So please, for the sake of the children that still have that phone, please add the weather app.

Very frustrated with the poor customer…

Very frustrated with the poor customer support at Gabb and the quality of the hardware. The company is a cellular service and the cell service is just spotty near us. I can't take the Gabb phone to AT&T which is what the rest of the family has and works fine. My daughter would like to take better pictures so she can capture memories from Middle School in a decent and modern way, but the camera included on Gabb is really bad. I am OK with her getting a few more apps as well, so we're looking at options now. We definitely will not be getting her in iPhone yet (way too many horror stories there).

Gabb isn't a phone

Gabb isn't a phone, it's a carrier.

I wanted to be excited, but the execution here was cheap...nothing other than stock Android, no over the air updates, no group messaging, no remote parental controls & their customer service wasn't very helpful. High hopes, but ultimately disappointed.

Gabb was overall a disappointment

Gabb was overall a disappointment. The SPAM calls and texts were really terrible. Gabb doesn't have a way to stop that, now we have a competitor kids phone that can stop SPAM calls. The phone did work to call and text, so that was good. There are no apps on it at all besides just these few that come pre-loaded. That was a deal killer. New phone is better. Wishing Gabb luck, the mission is good. We need tech for kids!

Gabb claims to be the safe phone for…

Gabb claims to be the safe phone for kids, but they don't have a way to stop texting all night long. I feel so confused because so many people told me Gabb is the answer to "phones and kids". I should have looked into it more myself, lesson learned. My 13 yo was caught texting all night. In addition, you MUST use the Gabb network, which doesn't work half the time in our house. You can't put the phone on your own network. After looking into it now, I see a bunch of people are actually just being paid to say Gabb is good for kids (quite a lot of money too from their affiliate program). Don't blindly trust Gabb, its a cheap phone, bad network, and most importantly doesn't have safety features for kids that I really needed and doesn't have any benefit over a flip phone.

Would not text

I'm sorry to say that the Gabb phone I ordered didn't fit my expectations at all. The phone stopped working every other week and although I was in touch with customer service all the way through the 4 month span that I had the phone, none of them knew what the issue was. The phone would immediately stop sending messages and not start back up until weeks later, and had many other general issues. How frustrating! Although I leave a bad review, the two stars as opposed to one is because their customer service is extremely helpful and patient. I tried replacing both the SIM card and the phone itself but neither resolved the issues. I do not recommend unless you have a very high tolerance for setbacks and are willing to stick with the phone.
