Isn’t not working after 5 yrs. Scammer.

Refrigerator is not working after 5 years services, examining, fixing, ordering part and now they suggests us to buy a new one!!! This is a Vario 400 series fridge refrigerator combo 212.5 cm.
For the price and being made in Germany, you would think it would've lasted longer, but the reality is that you pay for design and not so much the quality and longevity.

Absolute crap devices - stay away

- Coffee machine - disguisting coffee, water becomes glum and slimy inside as you cannot clean the corners of the water tank . Difficult to clean. After these cleaning programs, you need to take some anti-anxiety pill, because you will want to through it out of the window.
- Induction cooking top - when you will cook your pancakes, it will burn one side, while keeping the other side raw. Uneven warmth distribution.
- Stove - compared to Miele cooks so slow and the features are mediocre.

Overall, absolute waste of a lot of money. These devices should cost 50 EUR, instead of 5000 EUR.

Now I want to through all these devices out of the window, but since they are built in, I will probably will need to refit the whole kitchen for another 10k.

I had a service visit on 22/05/23 to fix my freezer which the problem according to the technician was the door switch was not showing the door closed correctly and it was charged £200 for this!
After 2 days my freezer is still not working and I contacted the service to inform them and to come again and now I need to wait more than 2 WEEKS the the next visit to repair what should fixed before.

Excellent service & engineer

I have had my Gaggenau 200 series for 14 years and have loved using them. A fault code on the combi microwave occurred so I called, arranged an engineer within a week and he was fantastic. Helpful, knowledgeable, clean & tidy, prompt.

Gaggenau cooking plate

i bought a Gaggenau induction cooking plate, a CX480111, at CHF 6000. i thought i had bought a top-of-the-bill device, from a luxury brand, top material and reliability. within 5 years, unfortunately out of guarantee period the alu frame detached from the glass -plate and i had to agree on an expensive repair. 13 months later half the coils stopped working and the Gaggenau mechanic offered a repair of the damaged part at CHF 1300 or, the complete coil-set at CHF 1800. i asked for a written offer but that never came. so, my premium device not only had a short live, but also the service in general was bad. of course they did not forget to send me the bill for the mechanic's visit.
so, my Gaggenau experience, a bad product, which not at all answered to what one could expect looking at their advertising and the price-level, no feeling of responsibility for having delivered a bad product and a very bad service on top of that.
never again Gaggenau for me.

With less than 5 hours use, massive failure

With less than 5 hours use, a Gaggenau drawer microwave failed. The service tech stated the appliance had three major issues, all dictated replacement due to substandard product, but after 7 months Gaggenau has done nothing but cause me unbelievable stress, distress, and no replacement unit. Hundreds of hours trying to contact gaggenau, being on hold, disconnects after hours of on hold and no human response meant gaggenau had zero intention of dealing with the issue.

Avoid gaggenau, miele, and parent company Bosch as customer service only goes as far as getting your money. Once the funds are in Bosch hands, you the customer receives a poor product and abominable service.

Unbelievably poor customer service

Update, it is now 2/22, and I still do not have a working steam oven. Apparently when the service was unable to be done because of needing a second tech, the part was sent back to the factory. The tech was supposed to come back today, but called to ask if I’d received the part, which I didn’t even know had been sent back and reordered, and which had not arrived. So no service. I called the premium service line, apparently the part has been on back order. Why they would have a policy of sending back a needed part when they know they are coming back out, especially in the current norm of difficulty getting parts, I just can’t understand, I was told it was because the techs have nowhere to keep them. No joke. And I can’t comprehend how a factory tech did not know from the start that two techs would be needed. It really is a whole new level of a combination of poor service and incompetence.

Ordinal review:
My steam oven failed in just 2 years, with light use. And even though I went with an all Gaggenau kitchen to get the 5 year warranty, it has taken months and two service visits so far to try and get it fixed. And it’s still not working. They’ve now given me a date in February for the next service attempt, without checking with me on the date. I’ll be out of town on the day they chose, have asked for a call from scheduling, not a peep so far. By the time I’m done, it will likely be at least 6 months without a steam oven, and that’s 6 months of use lost on the extended warranty. Plus their combi microwave/convection oven is useless as a regular oven, unlike the Miele I had previously. And while I quite like a lot of things about their regular oven, it has less depth than many, and the convection settings do not produce even baking or broiling. If I could go back in time, as much as I love the Gaggenau cooktop, and steam oven (when it works), I would definitely not go with them. I’ve had much better luck with “lesser” brands like Miele and Dacor.

1987 Gaggenau

In 1987 I bought a Gaggenau built-in stove top with 2 gas hobs a grill and with 3 lids, model number VG 223-812. Paid $1500.
About 8 years ago the igniters when out and was able to buy news ones. Now I think they stopped making them. The spark module is acting up but parts are unavailable.

Also in 1987 I bought a Gaggenau pull-out vent hood model number AH 250-790. I paid $819.
About 10 years ago, switches started to fail. Now only 2 out of the 4 exhaust fan speeds work. Sometimes the exhaust fan doesn't shut off. I can't find any parts to repair this.

For the amount I paid, and being made in Germany, you would think it would've lasted longer or at least continue making parts. It seems I paid the money for design and not so much the quality and longevity.

Now I can't repair these and I'm looking to buy a non Gaggenau stove top and vent hood.

Zero service for $10,000 garbage product

With less than 10 hours of use, my $10,000 Gaggenau XL oven died. A certified appliance tech stated any ONE of the THREE issues warranted a no possible repair declaration. He sent the report to Gaggenau. No response to my multitude of emails, so I called and called and called and called and...after hours of on hold and still no response to a multitude of emails I finally made phone contact. Only to receive a response that Gaggenau was waiting for me to die.

I contacted Bosch which owns Gaggenau. Bosch response? They don't care and have zero intention of making changes.

Gaggenau steam oven, the good and the bad

Bought a Gaggenau steam oven a few years ago, it's now broken and we're told it's the door mechanism which will cost almost $800 to fix. I'd love an explanation why one of the most expensive brands on the market only have a 2 year warranty. I've seen the low end of the market offer 5 year warranties, yet Gaggenau only offer 2. I guess that represents how much faith they have in their product.

I'd suggest anyone considering a Gaggenau to look at another brand that offers a warranty which represents their faith in the product they sell.

I'd also echo the other reviews, Gaggenau really needs to improve their service and support to match the brand and price they're charging.

Literally the worst of the worst.

I have now on a number of occasions enquired on some simple technical details on installation instructions that are not clear from their technical department. I'm always met with the most arrogant and unhelpful staff. Literally the worst of the worst. Showroom staff on the other hand has tried their best to help.

AWFUL customer support

An electronic component on my 2 year old gas range broke on July 15th.

The earliest that Gaggenau could schedule a repair was for September 1. There are very few 3rd party technicians who will repair Gaggenau.

I received an email confirming the appointment earlier in the week.

The day of, the repairman was a no show.

The following day, I called Gaggenau. They said that the repair had been rescheduled for October 6th, without explanation.

Again, my range broke on 7/15.

An absolute joke of a company. Avoid at all costs.

NEVER EVER EVER AGAIN!

Kitchen renovation 8 years ago. Purchased 2 wall ovens, dishwasher and microwave. Was told I would still be enjoying them in 30 years time. 2 years later, top oven breaks. Repair man couldn't even tell the microwave from the oven. Said I need a new part, $800 later, still not working. Then told I needed a new mother board for $2000. After much back and forth between Gaggenau and Independent repair centre blaming each other, I eventually had problem resolved.
Fast forward 6 months ago. Top oven overheats and microwave button not working. Repair man comes out (much more knowledgeable this time), diagnoses problem and suggests new parts but Gaggenau no longer make spare parts after 7 years, so my only option is a new oven and microwave. Oven at $10 000 and micro at $4000. I say NO THANKS and buy a Neff for $2000.
Final nail in the coffin? Second oven breaks 2 days before the Neff is installed. Didn't even bother ringing to see if fixable. Have ordered another Neff, I am happy with it.
My advice to anyone looking at Gaggenau products... DON'T DO IT! Absolutely terrible service and if these top of the range products are irreparable after 7 years, why bother.

I would warn anyone who is tempted to…

I would warn anyone who is tempted to buy Gaggenau to do some research and check out the reviews for service provided by Gaggenau. We live in Germany and spent a small fortune on Gaggenau appliances. Fridge/Freezer, oven and induction Cooktop.
The oven started reporting errors within the first few months and a technician came out and re set it. Then we were informed we needed to run an Extractor fan if we were using the oven???
Next the cooktop started reporting errors. We have had at least 5 major errors we have only had the cooktop for 6 years. Each time it stopped working. We have had electrical boards replaced and the cooking elements replaced and a slew of other things. This last time it stopped working we were given a 3 Week time frame for a service call. Completely ridiculous. the Technician that only lives 20 km from us came out earlier and did software upgrades.
Gaggenau could see how many problems we have had with this 5000 Euro cooktop and still were not able to provide any kind of customer service that was acceptable.
I am building a new house and I can say with 100% certainty I will never have another Gaggenau or BSH industries appliance in my house. They are happy to sell products but provide the absolute worse customer service. Never again!

Gaggenau steam oven

We have just purchased and had installed a Gaggenau steam oven. The oven went into fault mode the moment it was first turned on. The installing technician contacted Gaggenau who told him to call an engineer. Gaggenau service wont come for a month. One would like to think that if you sold a faulty product you would move heaven and earth to put it right. Not Gaggenau.

Appalling after sales customer care

I would absolutely recommend anyone considering buying a Gaggenau appliance in the UK to be very, very careful.

We spent many thousands of pounds buying what we were assured were the best retail consumer ovens and induction job on the market for our new kitchen.

The oven worked fantastically well until a fault developed after three months which trips the power and has meant that it is now unusable. Despite repeated attempts by our kitchen installer, Roundhouse who have done a fabulous job, and ourselves the Gaggenau after-sales service has been appalling. We’ve been given excuses about people being off work, and then been told that they’ve tried to contact us unsuccessful for which there’s absolutely no evidence. We’ve eventually been given a date for a home attendance 5 weeks after we asked for one and during the intervening time had no oven. There is no guarantee that this visit will resolve the problem, which is as yet not defined and we may well then be asked to wait many more weeks on the basis of our experience.

When working the units are great but Gaggenau’s after-sales customer service in the UK is risible. Had we been aware when we chose to buy their appliances this would most definitely have changed our decision.

Beware.
