We picked up our rental car in Olbia Airport without any issues, however on the fourth day of our rental, our car broke down. We tried to contact the company 7 times over phone, but without any luck. They even picked up one time and hung up on us. We ended up calling the roadside assistance and they helped us restart the car.
When we went to return the car, they apologized profusely for not answering the phone and told us, it would not be issue and we would get our full deposit back. Around 10 days later, they sent us an invoice claiming we would have to pay for the roadside assistance, since we did not contact the company themselves during our emergency, even though we called them 7 times unsuccessfully. When we made them aware of this, they claimed not to have received our e-mail even though we can see, that they have received it.
They have behaved deeply unprofessional and unethically towards us as customers. I would not recommend renting with them unless you're prepared to pay extra expenses for their own mistakes.

I'm not going to go through the entire thing here, but the gist is as follows;
When collecting our car at Olbia Airport, the Galdieri office - quite a long walk from the terminal - was closed, with a sign saying to see them in the terminal. Walked back to the terminal, waited about an hour in a queue, signed the forms, got the keys, walked back again and got the car - on my own, no member of staff to check the car with me.
No issues again until I handed the vehicle back. So I handed it back, they did an inspection, found some minor scuffs on the rear bumper. I had photos proving these scuffs were already present at the point of collection, however they were on my partners phone and she was in the terminal. I told the member of staff, who told me this was fine and to send them on and I'd get my deposit back "no problem". I did so, and have been met with a brick wall of indifference. €380 for marks already present on the vehicle at point of collection.
My overall impression of the company is that they're cowboys who will actively look to rip off customers at every opportunity.
I'd have awarded one star, however the vehicle was fine so I've given them a star for that.
Avoid.

I rented a car at Palermo airport, and everything was fine and I was thinking about giving a good review.
But that changed when I was returning the car, because the office was busy and I had to wait in line. When it was mine turn they inspected the car carefully and when they were finish I signed and was told that everything is fine and my full deposit will be released. After 1 hour I got a mail that the car is returned too late, but I was there on time, and the delay is their fault. They write that I have to pay for an extra day. They take 80 euro of my deposit which is all most double of what I payed in daily rent, which was 42,50 euro. I have tried to write email to them but they dont reply. I can not recommend them and I will not use them again.

We had a confirmed reservation with GaldieriRent at Alghero Airport for 23 July 2025. Due to a missed airline connection — something completely outside of our control — we arrived after 22:00, I contacted them in advance to inform them of the situation and even offered to pay a late pick-up fee if someone could stay a little longer or hold the car for the next morning. They refused, saying we had to contact through the broker (Discover Cars), and soon after, luckily Discover Cars was fast to respond but they found out the car was no longer available.
Discover Cars themselves tried to help but also struggled to get the car held. In the end, we were left stranded with our whole family, had to take a taxi, and lost our original booking. We then had to rebook, pay extra for less day sand missed two full days without a car, which really disrupted our trip.
What’s worse is that it felt like they were happy to cancel and resell the car at a higher rate, since it was peak season. A little flexibility and customer service would have solved everything — but instead, we were treated rigidly and unfairly.
I will not book with GaldieriRent again. The broker (Discover Cars) was understanding, but this supplier showed no care or effort to help, even when I offered to pay extra.

Terrible. Use someone else. Their main objective seems to be to invent problems to hammer you on the deposit.
I used the Cagliari office and still haven't had my deposit back nearly 3 months later. The company replied to my review leaving a customer care address that rejects my emails. Absolute robbers.

The company is about 15 minute drive from airport. You have to wait for mini-bus pick up. The car was not the one we chose, but similar so we were happy. Insurance was via a third party which was not made clear at time of booking, avoid this option as it has nothing to do with the rental company and you will have to payout and then reclaim any accident costs, so you’ll be out of pocket for a while until the insurance pays out. The car was not clean when picked up. We video’d the car during pickup. Lots of manual paperwork and large deposits 2000 EUR later we were able to start our vacation.
Leave an extra hour for drop off. There was a large queue which took a while to clear. They only had one mini bus which was full so we had to wait a while for it to return. Seats 8 people.
Staff not particularly friendly, as someone who works in sales, I would strongly recommend they all attend training. At the very least smile and look like you’re happy to serve you customers.
Would I use again, maybe, but would look for better alternatives first.

Horrible experience! We were late arriving in Catania Sicily due to flight delays which was out of our control, so they gave our car away, which we understand. The unacceptable part was they tried to keep our money and offer a similar car for double! How were they harmed? They got paid by someone else for the car. They are located at the airport, this must happen all the time, what a scam! Why should they get paid twice for the same car?! Can you imagine dealing with this after 24 hrs of travel. Disputed it through the credit card company and won.

Terrible Car Rental Experience in Palermo, Italy
The whole experience was extremely disappointing from start to finish.
First of all, the car was not waiting at the airport. Instead, it was parked over 10 km away. There were no signs or directions to the rental office. I had to call them myself to find out I was expected to be picked up and driven 10 minutes outside the airport. Only one person was allowed to go collect the car, which meant I had to leave my daughters waiting in a parking garage in 33-degree heat while I sorted everything out.
When I finally received the car, it was much smaller than what I had booked and paid for. The entire process took two hours just to get the keys and return to pick up my family.
Returning the car was even worse. The staff inspected it as if we were hiding something, clearly determined to find any excuse to add extra charges. They ended up claiming there was a scratch worth 300 euros—something completely impossible to notice when we picked it up. The woman checking the vehicle seemed to have no other purpose than to invent damages. Was she paid on commission for every extra fee she could charge?
Now I have to waste even more time dealing with my insurance company to dispute these ridiculous claims.
Overall, this was an awful and unprofessional experience I would not recommend to anyone.

We rented the car in Palermo. Don’t do the same mistake as us.
From the very beginning, the process was disappointing. The pickup at the airport was extremely slow, with NO signage or instructions on where to go. When the shuttle finalen arrived only one member of our family was allowed to ride the shuttle to the office 15 minutes ride away. That meaning the rest of us waiting unnecessarily. The entire process took several hours before we were finally given a car.
To make matters worse, the car we received was not the one we had booked. It was significantly smaller than what was agreed upon, which caused a great deal of inconvenience during our trip.
Additionally, the insurance was handled by a third-party provider, which was not clearly communicated at the time of booking. Upon returning the car, the inspection process was unusually thorough, clearly aimed at finding any possible damage. It felt as though your staff were actively looking for an excuse to charge us — as tourists — for something we did not do. A minor scratch was pointed out, and we were made to feel as if we were being scammed (and cost us €310)
The staff were unfriendly, unhelpful, and provided no sense of customer service. Overall, it was a frustrating and unpleasant experience, and we left feeling taken advantage of.
We will never rent from this company again, and we strongly advise other to reconsider before doing so!

We rented a budget car from this company and walked 30 minutes to reach the remote pick-up center outside Venice Airport. Upon arrival, we were denied the rental because we only had a debit card instead of a credit card. When we expressed our surprise, we were told we were being “rude and stupid” for not having read the terms and conditions, and were asked to leave without a car. The employee at the Galdieri desk told us to try one of the other companies in the “rural area.”
The couple next to us faced the exact same issue and received the same dismissive treatment.

It’s pretty apparent that this rental company’s main goal is to make the most money from your rental.
Rented a mid range car from their Venice airport branch. Bus pickup from the airport was pretty smooth (although had to wait 40mins) the driver wasn’t very helpful
When you get to the branch, there was a queue of people waiting as they had concerns about being changed extra for additional that weren’t made clear or frustrated over bringing cars back and being charged for additional issues.
When we got our car, it was dirty, no water in the jets - but thankfully took out their full insurance (so didn’t care to check over the car)
While bringing the car back at the end of our rental the staff at the office clearly couldn’t care less but wanted the thoroughly check out the car for bumps and scratches which I explained I have full insurance for.
I have given this a ⭐️ as I’m still waiting on my deposit (again then trying to hold onto money as long as possible)
I would give them ⭐️⭐️⭐️ if the customer service was less money grabbing and more about you enjoying your holiday.
I would recommend this rental - but as a budget rental and advise to take out full insurance [directly with them] and carefully read the T&C because they will charge you extra if you fail to adhere to them.

AVOID AVOID AVOID this company ! Unfortunately there isn't a 0 star option so I am forced to give a 1 star rating.
Our flight was delayed due to no fault of our own. When we arrived at 9.50pm to collect the car at Catania airport, the desk was closed as they go home at 9.30pm. Don't know of any other car hire company that clocks off early, all the other main hire companies were still open.
We met another couple at the desk with the same problem, they had received a WhatsApp message from GaldieriRent confirming collection time - that customer advised that they informed GaldieriRent immediately that the plane was delayed but they did not reply to them.
This company does not ask for a Flight number when booking, if they had then they would have known we were slightly delayed.
They left us stranded at the airport as unable to find another hire company that had availability.
This company adamantly refused to return our pre-paid payment as said they only hold cars up to one hour after arranged pick up time ..... what a joke, don't they know that planes get delayed ? This is just a way to rip you off and keep your money.
They are just rip off merchants that want to get home early and without providing any customer care. Oh and rang their phone number to get help and of course nobody answered. How they sleep at night knowing they are ripping people off is beyond me.
Seriously do not hire a car off this company, it will cost you more in the long run. Best advice I can give is : If you buy cheap it will cost you twice !
Update : Reply received from this company is laughable. They suggested I contact their business partner for a refund. I did that already and they tried really hard to get a full refund from this company but they full blank refused to give me any of my money back.

Pick up was all good and couteous. However, car was dirty and had not been valleted. Tire repair kit was not mentioned at pick up but was charged for at return. Federica was unhelpful and pretty rude. While she promised to check if kit had been put somewhere else (under seat or else where) she did not. I was forced to pay the rip off price of €188 which is far more than a new tire for an accessory that was not mentioned or provided at point of rental.

I would like to add that following my complaint to the Head office and a full description of events, Galdieri Rent carried out a full investigation and refunded my money in full. I am grateful of that and I am satisfied with the outcome. Thank you Galdieri Rent.

Great experience! Everything went fast and smoothly. The staff was super friendly and helpful throughout the whole process. When the shuttle bus didn’t show up, they even gave us a ride directly to the terminal. Very professional service — would definitely rent from them again!

Terrible my flight was delayed and my case was ages coming through . When I got there they said my voucher was expired. This has never happened with any other company ever. I went straight there but they don't take your flight number as other companies do.
It cost me €200Euros more to book at short notice online with another company. Terrible.

I would leave a 0, but unfortunately it doesn’t allow that… Booked with Visa credit card and when arrived, was told apparently they don’t accept credit card issued by Revolut… luckily my wife had a different credit card with her, but was charged 104€ extra for changing name and adding extra driver. As they say: cheap comes at the price… overall costs same as one of the main companies in the end. We will see how it goes with returning as they charged 1200€ deposit as well…
