A positive role model for women…
The service was prompt and efficient but I was a little disappointed that the range of ESOL beginner readers appears to be limited. Also I was surprised and very disappointed that five of the six Building Bridges series had men on the front covers. Where are the women? I am sure that you realise the importance of positive roles models for female asylum seekers and refugees who are often the most oppressed.

We developed the Building Bridges Series to fill a gap in our offering for young male ESOL students. Our aim was to create a series around a central male character, a refugee, who is determined to be educated and is ambitious in his choice of career, so providing a positive role model for young male immigrants.
You might take a look at our New East Enders Series, which was developed specifically for a female ESOL readership, settling into family life in the UK.
We do recognise the need for positive role models for both men and women and will endeavour to develop more books to meet the needs of asylum seekers and refugees. Should you have any topic suggestions, please do let us know.

Booklet is good to inspire confidence…
Booklet is good to inspire confidence and my pupil is enjoying it, but it is grossly overpriced - 12 A5 pages (75 words on a random page) and it costs £4-5 when one includes postage!!!!

Very good readers for my ESOL student, and fast delivery. I would recommended the Yes we can read, which I am working with a student. I is easy to understand and the student progression is improving at a good steady pace.

I was looking for books for an adult who can read a limited vocabulary and was rather disgusted in having to pay more than £5 for a 16 page offering containing 120 words and a rather larger one which also proved totally inadequate,
