I took my sad 20 year old Honda lawn mower in for a service. When I picked it up a few days later it was like new. superb frendly service
We have used George Carr to purchase all our garden equipment.
So when we needed a new mower we visited their shop in Bedminster.
The quality of the products sold is excellent.
Sadly the same could not be said for one of their sales assistants.
He was very abrupt.
We asked for the mower to be delivered. He said well you could put in your car, we have a Volvo estate with a fitted large dog cage.
We also have two dogs . He said he’d noticed the car and the dogs not sure how that affected the mower being delivered.
Anyway it was arranged after we made full payment for it to be delivered the following week.
On Friday the salesman phoned and said “we can’t bring your mower next week, the delivery driver is on holiday”
I said when are you delivering it then, after Easter.
I asked what date, he didn’t know and said he didn’t have a calendar to hand.
He then said “if you bring your car down we can help you put it in the back”
Now games I don’t really like. George Carr had taken £1180 and were now trying to get us to dismantle our dog cage and drive into Bristol to collect the mower.
We both have health issues and it’s very obvious to anyone that my husband is not fit and healthy.
I phoned the salesman back later and his whole attitude changed when I said I had looked up on Companies House one of the directors names and wanted to speak to him , about the service we had received.
His whole attitude changed . I pointed out the business did not fall apart when the delivery driver had a week off.
He said when do you want the mower , I said that afternoon.
He said he would bring it that afternoon after work in his own car.
It arrived in their works van later that afternoon.
I did manage to speak to the director today, Monday.
He seemed to think his employee was great and we probably “ hadn’t clicked” what a joke.
So if you want good quality equipment this is the place to shop, but if you don’t like very very poor service, with a salesman who likes to play games and has his own set of rules, don’t bother with this company .
If you want delivery turn up in a Reliant Robin and then he won’t have anything to say !!
The director did say we encourage customers to collect. So put that on your website

I thought that a local dealer of Stihl mowers would be the better option, so I purchased stihl Rm248.3 mower. It was brought from "box 2" in the rear, it was started out if my view, it hunted , it was adjusted and produced for purchase. It was loaded into my car.
I got home and s couple of days later I went to cut the grass, the machine was fine for a few minutes, then it hunted continuously. I realised the machine had been returned by someone and resold to me. I returned thd mower I requested a refund and was given one.
I said what mower is available to me now? I was told that they would not sell me a mower again.
I found the whole experience very strange, I wished them a good day and left.

The speed of response to my enquiry was amazing. The delivery timeframe more than met my requirements. It was delivered promptly and by a very hello;ful and courteous courier.
Having previously had good experience with the reliability of Stihl chainsaws, I purchased an expensive new one online from this company. It would not start reliably and there was clearly a fault. I phoned George Carr who were peculiarly unsympathetic. They could only offer to look at the saw if I returned it at my own expense. The problem was eventually fixed by a local agricultural merchant in collaboration with the manufacturer. I will not be using George Carr again.
The whole service (from Carr Power Products family Business) was exceptional. The Price was excellent, best I could find on the web. Speed of delivery was amazing - this was delivered in less than 24 hrs from time of on line order (Downes Transport). The advice and guidance from the staff regarding warranties suitability of the product (Andy, Kate and Luke) was polite, clear, and very helpful. OUTSTANDING

I bought a Honda GP160 online from George Carr and was pleasantly surprised when it arrived the next morning promptly and in perfect order.
I asked a few questions online before my purchase which were all answered straight away and one phone call to the service department just to make sure I was buying the correct one, the guy assured me straight away.
Cannot recommend this company enough they are spot on and very competitive on pricing.

I had two experiences of this company which were both at their store in Bedminster. The first experience as good: as a newly qualified gardener I went in with a long list of tools that I thought I needed. The salesperson went through it and took out all the items that were not essential and so saved me some money. The second experience was not so good: I bought a large pair of Stilh loppers from the same shop and after a few weeks they didn't seem to be working correctly and one of the handle grips was coming off. I was asked to bring them into the shop for inspection. After a brief look the salesperson said that there was nothing wrong with them and that I could stick the handle grip back on myself. I ventured that they might stick the handle grip back on and was told they would if I 'brought it back on a weekday'. Since it's an hour's round trip, I declined. I contacted Stihl who advised me to take it to another dealer. I took the loppers to a tool hire shop in Yate who adjusted them and stuck the grip back on for free.
Ordered Honda HRH 536HX. Cheapest price on line, delivered within two days, some easy assembling needed, and started first pull. Well happy, and great communication, I’m a garden contractor and will definitely use and recommend this company.

Just what I wanted at a competitive price. Great customer service and very quick delivery.
I have found this company to be very helpful when I was in a pinch. They have a forward thinking managing director who seems to just get it. I made the mistake previously of ordering from roboexpert UK who stung me with hidden import fees (they are actually based in Germany) and a robot mower which was PIN locked. Buy local from these guys and you won't regret it.

Called into store with an oil assembly from a chainsaw.
Although they agreed the part was not faulty ( if they had I would have given one star) when specifically asked they avoided telling me the orientation of the pump gear.
When I asked the price of a new pump and would it have details of the pump orientation the answer was no diagram included.
It would have been so simple for them to tell me an orientation symbol was moulded into the saw housing right next to the pump.
I could have put this machine back together incorrectly and either wrecked it or worse still had a Nasty accident.
