I bought one of their 220L composting bins and placed it in the backyard ready for use. There seems to be no way of securing the bin to the separately sold (and expensive) base , so the bin just sits loosely on top of the base like a plant pot on a saucer. The whole flimsy contraption blew away on the first night and I had to collect the pieces and start again. Even when material is placed in the bin , this will only hold down the base plate and not the loose bin itself. The entire design is a shambles and very poorly thought out. Don't waste your money on this rubbish !

My experience was almost identical to Graham’s below. Natalie is the biz. Address issue sorted very promptly, even though website advised customer service was closed. Excellent.

I never review things, but found the service from getcomposting.com to be really good. A mess up on delivery address (thanks to Apple Pay issue) and a potential interpersonal political nightmare was avoided by Rachel in customer services excellent and timely response and resolution. Kudos and thank you !

Great product (the Green Johanna). I realised on assembling I was missing the piece of insulating foam for the underside of the lid. I contacted them and received a really prompt response offering to send out a replacement. A few hours later I realised I’d given my old address (we moved literally a couple of days earlier). I let them know and asked them to send to the new address, assuming they wouldnt have sent it. Much to my surprise they sent the missing part to both addresses, so sorted the problem out twice! I offered to send back but they said to keep it as a spare. I’d have no hesitation recommending the service.

A compost bin arrived without the base plate which was ordered and paid for. The bin did not appear to be made by the manufacturer named in the purchase. It looked like a copy but without the logos and seems a bit less robust. I would not recommend purchasing from these people.

Ordered the bin 23rd March. Today is 7th May and I still haven't got it. The fact this company is endorsed by my local council is shocking (or perhaps not...).

Save your time, money and effort and go to literally any other retailer.

I ordered a composting bin, along with a bottle of compost maker three weeks ago and they still haven’t arrived. I’ve emailed several times, and left voice messages (it’s impossible to actually speak to someone) trying to get a delivery update, but they are not responding. It seems like they don’t care.

Really good service. Thought only 1 of the 2 bins arrived but told they are probably stacked. Customer service replied within minutes.

Ordered quite an expensive compost bin, recieved tracking over a week ago, apparently it is lost, Yodel never received it, GetComposting telling me it is Yodel, so where does that leave me? Promised another will be sent out but no tracking received. I have emailed yet again, if no resolution I will be contacting my card company for a charge back.

I bought it through the council run scheme at a very good price quick delivery 3 days well made came with stand and overflow pipe you have to fit tap bit fiddly but you can get to the inside and I managed for a 70 yr old woman it's full now no leaks.

Ordered compost bin and waterbut. All delivered when advised and in good condition.

Order arrived quickly, prices were very good - Council discount. Products are as advertised.

As a bonus, the very large cardboard box has provided a good quantity of 'brown' compost material to get me started.

Avoid at all cost!! They take your money and do not deliver as promise. They send you saying your order will be delivered 10 days later still waiting and can wait just about as long for an email reply. Want a refund and waiting for a reply. Literally the worst company I think I have had to deal with in 35 years. Save yourself the time and headache just go B&Q or homebase where someone will actually be accountable!!!

The service / delivery was much quicker than we anticipated, which was good in our case.
Two of the points that made me want to purchase from this company was that their composters were made from recycled plastic and were made in UK.
However, this particular kind of composter is manufactured and exported from Australia and is not made from recycled plastic. so I was very disappointed with this part of the purchase. not very 'green'.

it was ok to put together, 2 of us managed it ok, once we realised that the screw types have different names in Australia to UK.! it got a bit complicated around putting together the crank handle that is supposed to spin the composter.

However, currently, i find it much easier to spin it using what are kind of 'hand holds' moulded into the drum itself and not bother with the handle. But, as it gets heavier, it may need the handle. the spinning certainly is helping the compost process to speed up.

It is great having 2 compartments. i am now on the second one, and hoping that it won't be too long before the first compartment has good compost in it . (over the summer it should be quick).

it is good that it can be moved around, from one area to another, on the flat, although it will get more of a challenge as it gets heavier.

However, rain must be getting in somewhere. (there are ventilation sliders, but these have been closed). the compost is wetter than it should be. the instructions suggest using a peg to hold the sliding doors together. that might help keep the rain out.
i have opened up the sliding doors on hot days to try to dry it out enough.

i am hoping that this equipment does last many years to be worth the cost. and as i get older, i can still keep it spinning!
