Did a trial - got scammed

Did a trial. Cancelled on day of subscription beginning. Still got charged ($99) Wrote to complain on November 21st and got a reply on December 28th which said that they couldn't help me and the issue is with Apple. Apple said they couldn't help me either. It is such a scam.

Got charged for another year after unsubscribing…

I personally loved the app but my kids weren't really into it, so I unsubscribed. Well, just the other day I noticed they charged my card again for another years subscription. I bet they are hoping people don't notice so they can make more money. Very bad business ethics

Byju's would raise around $200 million in an effort to clear "immediate liabilities" and for other operational costs.[7]

BEWARE

The service auto-renews WITHOUT A WARNING, even if you cancel it on the renewal date. So I was charged for an entire year. The customer support email gets you no where because it’s been over a month with ZERO response.

No response from customer service…

No response from customer service despite two attempts. Tried the contact email, bounced. Also found employee email addresses to follow up - all of the emails bounced. Does this company exist? Is it a shadow company? I tried to cancel on day 8 of the 7 day free trial - I know, but this is life as a working mom with two small kids - and it’s frustrating not to get any response whatsoever.

No customer support

I have an Epic account paid through my Apple iTunes, but I keep getting an error when trying to sign in. I just signed up for an annual membership. I've contacted customer support four times in the past six weeks and haven’t received any reply.

It’s very frustrating, and I can see others are experiencing similar issues. The customer service seems non-existent.

I would give this zero stars if…

I would give this zero stars if possible, worst app online ever, I originally wanted to subscribe for a Annual membership, get charged for a month, then i did subscribe for the whole year got charged for the year.. then the app removes my subscription and trying to offer me a discounted rate.. i tried to contact them, no one response, they claim within 24 hours , week, its been over a month and no one contacted me or replied back to my emails...

Non-existent customer service.
I have been getting charged for this for 16 months but when logging in, I don't have a subscription.
When I contacted support, I was told to wait 1 week for a reply due to high volume. It's been over a week & no response.

Step1. Whilst signing payment failed.
Step2. I emailed them to cancel my account. No response.
Step 3. Automatic Payment was processed and No response to any email question. Content is average. In retrospect I would make better choice. Get the hint !

SCAM

I was having trouble signing up as card payment failed. So I used two email addresses and my Apple Store. Finally, my Apple Store purchase went in. I cancelled the other accounts. I sent about ten emails. But guess what , they charged me 3 times for a single app after 5 day trial period. No customer service. Truly worst app and bordering on scam! Do get this app, please stay away. SCAM! Cheater !!

Got "unsubscribed" after 4 months - paid for 1 year

I paid 1-year subscription fee on the 5th of May 2024 and we were using Epic quite often. Everything went well. However, in Sep 2024 my account was unsubscribed (account status "unsubscribed"). I tried every possible means of contacting EPIC, e-mailed customer service, and filed an online complaint multiple times, but there was NO RESPONSE. I only received confirmations and case numbers each time I contacted them, and nothing else. It has now been 3 weeks of no subscription and no response. However, they are sending me a promo campaign offering to subscribe. It is ridiculous - such an arrogant behaviour.
UPDATE 08.10.24: 1 WEEK AFTER EPIC REPLY (down below), NO CHANGE IN MY ACCOUNT STATUS, AND NO ONE CONTACTED ME.

UPDATE 17.10.24: STATUS FROM 08.10.24 HASN'T CHANGED

UPDATE 24.10.24: NO ACTIONS ARE TAKEN BY EPIC. MY ACCOUNT IS STILL "NOT SUBSCRIBED".

UPDATE 31.10.24: ..... nothing

No response from support or customer serice

I have got automatically subscribed for one full year after doing 7-day free trial. I accepted it as there was no other option and even if you cancel they won’t refund full year payment. But that’s not the full story. I couldn’t access the service after a week or so. I tried every possible means of contacting EPIC - forgot password (it says no such user found and yet they keep emailing promotional materials), e-mailed customer service, filed online complaint multiple times - NO RESPONSE. I only receive acknowledgement and case number each time I contact them and nothing more. It has now been 3 weeks of no access, no response.

Auto renewal comes with no warning or messages

The service auto-renews, even if you cancel it on the renewal date. So I was charged for an entire year. The customer support links are circular and never provide an actual contact method. Book selection is for early readers, not good for kids as they get to middle age.

I was getting charged almost $85 for a subscription I didn't even know I had. I have no idea how long I've been paying for this or how to even log in. I just happened to notice it was taken out of my account. I contacted Epic about this situation and haven't heard back, I'll update if I do.
Update- I contacted Epic and they did get back to me within 24 hours. While they did refund my money for this month and cancel my subscription, I have apparently been paying for this since May of 2022. I know I wouldn't have signed up for something that was $85 a month when my child NEVER uses this so it's likely that it was free for 3 months or whatever and then it started charging. I wasn't receiving any transaction emails, nothing. I'll take blame for not canceling a subscription I didn't know I had (or must have forgotten about) and for not checking my CC transactions better, but they very discreetly steal money from you.
