Having previously had an Fue procedure in England 2yrs ago (which I wasn't happy with) I decided to look at Turkey to get more work done.
After much research, I chose cosmedica / gmh. I definitely made the right choice.
On arrival in Istanbul, my driver collected me and took me to the hotel. (a really nice hotel btw)
At check in, I immediately felt relaxed as there were many other patients staying there.
The next morning I was picked up and taken to the clinic which was only 5 minutes away. The clinic is very clean and modern. There was no waiting around, the staff got to work straight away and were all super nice & friendly.
The operation lasted about 7 hours but it honestly felt more like 3, I was completely relaxed throughout. The only slight discomfort is the injections at the start. After the op I was taken back to my hotel.
in the morning, I was collected and taken back to the clinic where I was checked over, cleaned up, and given some medication, then taken back to the airport for my return flight.
Everything went smoothly and now I can't wait to see the results.

I've been looking into this procedure for a few years and always had my doubts with regards to the quality of care or expertise of previous clinics I've looked into.

As soon as I found the Get More Hair company with Dr. Acar, I knew that this clinic was different from the rest. The results theyve achieved with previous patents is outstanding and from my first interaction with Keiran, the UK patient coordinator, I knew I could trust them and found myself at ease straight away.

Everything was made easy and I genuinely didnt gave to worry about anything. From booking, travel, operation, and now the after care, everything is taken care of and you can sit back and relax as best you can.

For anyone that doubts going to Turkey for this procedure and who may think it is less quality due to the price, you couldnt be any more wrong. I'm yet to find anywhere in the UK that could offer the same expertise, quality of care, or excellent customer experience whilst seeing a high volume of patients as GMH do.

I had spent two years looking into getting a transplant, I was very nervous about the whole thing. I came across GMH/Cosmedica on instagram and had confidence in them straight away, they had lots of live feeds to watch and it seemed like the place to go.

I’m just home in Scotland after getting my surgery on the 02/01/20 and could not be happier already! Everything went exactly as was promised from getting picked up at the airport to dropped of for departure! The surgery itself couldn’t have went better it was 100% pain free, getting the anaesthetic was a wee bit nippy but nothing uncomfortable. The clinic is very professional, clean, staff covering all languages and very friendly. I honestly couldn’t of asked for a better experience and highly recommended anyone that is affected by hair loss to go for it!

My freind is a man not a lady. And the fact that you just mentioned another customer that shows that there are other customers like myself so if anything you have just exposed yourself LOL

Also I had a bad experience with this company but I did not want to get involved. They sold me unlimited grafts then once I got there they started saying we cannot work on this part of your head. If you want more grafts you have to pay us more to take it from your body.

And also on your website it does state 100% success rate. So you've just contradicted yourself. Him promoting another doctor is him helping others. It's called reccomending. It even says on Trust Pilot, help others to make better choices.

It's also not a fake review because he's a real person and secondly the fact that you are reporting the review must be a sign of how many others you have reported. I'm sure you will report mine too now.

We'll just post it again. It's fine. People need to know the truth.

After doing about 12 months research I choose gmh/cosmedica to do my hair transplant and I couldn’t have made a better decision, I was a little nervous about going to turkey by myself but when I landed my nerves were put at ease, I was taken from the airport to a great hotel which has a really relaxing atmosphere, the next morning I was brought to the clinic by mustafa who is a really nice guy , the clinic is amazing and has a relaxing atmosphere, all the staff are so friendly and nice, dr acar is a great guy and gave me a high graft number for a very reasonable price, I can’t recommend gmh/cosmedica enough! I would just like to thank everyone at gmh cosmedica, I had my hair transplant done on the 12th November 2019. I could not ask for anymore than what they did for me Mike, Killan and all the team in England and Istanbul were amazing from start to finish, they kept in touch with me checking to make sure everything was ok and I can't forget the chauffeur, Mustufa he was very helpful and very polite. If anyone is thinking of getting a hair transplant I would 100% recommend ghm cosmedica. I was very nervous as I went by myself but when I arrived I was put at ease, it was like one big happy family I made a few friends I can not praise ghm enough good luck and keep up the good work and all the best.

From the first time I made contact with GMH I felt at ease with everything . Mike,James and killian were all great and definitely the right choice . I have wanted a transplant for many years and I did a lot of research and these guys always came out on top and I personally know 5 or 6 lads that have already been with GMH and I know another 2 lads that are going over at Christmas and I would always recommend GMH to anyone as they are the best.

I already knew what I wanted when I first spoke to mike and James at GMH but they just gave me some advice and Mike helped me decide to have maximum grafts and the chest and beard as my hair loss was quite serious and that would help with more coverage.

Everything is simple and they sort everything out for you so I got picked up from the airport and taken to a very nice hotel and I was happy all round with the hotel they use.

The clinic cosmedica is top of the range and very clean and tidy as you would expect and all the staff are very polite and professional and speak English. I spoke with Dr Acar who is also very professional and very good at what he does and I ended up having my transplant over 2 days and all in I had 6200 grafts.

When I got home GMH was straight on the phone to me giving me all the information for the aftercare as the aftercare is just as important as the transplant. As I had so many grafts and the chest and beard I had questions every week after about different things for the aftercare and Mike and James answered them straight away and was always as helpful as possible and I was very Impressed with that .

So overall cosmedica and Dr Acar was very professional and carried out my transplant to a very high standard and I am very happy with my new hairline and can’t wait to see how it grows as I’m 4 weeks in now

My personal experience from start to finish with cosmedica & GMH was a smooth & easy one, I purchased the plus package & was pleased with the price, the hotel we stayed in provided by GMH surprised me by how nice it was & how clean & smart the rooms were considering it was part of a package. The actual procedure & op itself was tough as they worked on my head all day but I’m more than happy with the amount of grafts they gave me and every step was explained to me before they started which helped to understand what was happening, they gave me juice & snacks throughout along with a decent meal at the end of it. The staff explain the aftercare very well & are all very approachable, each transfer & pick up including the airport runs were on time & the driver mustapha is very helpful too, all in all I’m very pleased I chose gmh & cant wait to see the results

Professional, approachable, knowledgeable, exceptional, outstanding; are but a few words I would use to describe the service I received when using GMH. These guys have a no bullsh*t approach, just straight up professionalism from start to finish. No harassment for sales or forced fake sales pitches, just a team of passionate guys wanting the best for their customers. Both my girlfriend and I had hair transplants with Get More Hair/Cosmedica in September 2018, I had the usual front and back crown (4200 grafts) and my girlfriend had her fringe lowered to cover a childhood scar. What can I say other than THANK YOU to Mike at GMH and Dr Acar and the team at Cosmedica.

We flew into Istanbul late on a Sunday evening and surgery was booked for early Monday morning. We stayed at the comfortable Radisson Blu, just minutes from the airport. We were picked up in the morning by Cosmedica's friendly driver in a luxury people carrier and transported to the hospital, which looked like a hotel, so straight away we both felt very relaxed.

We had the usual check-up and form filling before going in to see Dr Acar for our consultation and deciding what type of hairline we wanted, he drew his plan on our heads and off we went to surgery.

I was in surgery for approximately 10 hours, however, it went quickly due to some administered Xanax (I slept for most of it), it was relatively pain-free, the only thing I felt was the numbing injections right at the start. My girlfriend was in surgery for about 4/5 hours.

After surgery, I was whisked back to the hotel with my neck pillow and medication for a nights rest (GF had been back 4 hours before me), I must say, the neck pillow was my only discomfort (and for the first 7 days after whilst using it.....its just unnatural for a side sleeper!!)

The next morning after breakfast we were picked up and returned to the hospital for a check-up and hair wash, given our shampoo and discharged.....all very straight forward.

We opted to stay one more day in Istanbul for some sightseeing, which worked out well.

We are both almost a year down the line and couldn't be happier with the results. Mike, thanks for your help, advice and reassurance......

Mike, James and the boys are great to deal with. Very quick responses and helpful with the before and after advice and support, couldn't recommend them enough. The facilities with Cosmedica are top class. Dr Acer seems like a lovely modest man. Nearly 6 weeks post op and eagerly awaiting the results over the coming months. Well cut a long story short as possible I’ve been botherd about my receading hairline since I was 18 I’m now 27 so a long while too be botherd about my own appearance tried all the shampoos minoxidil everythink but let’s face it nothink helps so I new I would have too have a hair transplant too improve my hairloss/hairline I contacted mikes team one I had the funds available definitely couldn’t afford Harley street and was happy with cosmedica,s reviews / results pictures so on I decided tooo book it and take the plunge as they say I called mike just too have a chat and he’s a down to earth bloke told me I’d be fine and looked after which he was absolutely right ! I went with my sister so was nice too have some support was abit iffy travelling too a diffrent country for this type off procedure but literally it went so smoothly Turkish airlines are the one by the way whach new films there and back transfers/ taxi hotel is sorted for u get too the raddiaon which is a nice hotel got the time for my procedure day before went in was nervous obviously but I went for it met doctor acar he was a great guy drew my hairline then I paid for the procedure had it done took about 8 9 hours the pain is minimal if I’m honest the anesetic does hurt a little bit but they have too do it so u don’t feel anythink kept checking I was okay through out if I felt any pain they put more anstetic so yea honestly was well looked after while I was with cosmedica guys/girls would deffo go back again if needed but it’s 7 days post op so just gonna chill now and wait for my results can’t wait so happy I’ve had it done and it’s all over mike and doctor acar are very good guys all the woman and men working in the clinic are very hospitable people honestly lovely don’t be worried about it if your thinking off going :)

Just to give you an overview of me. I have been thinking about getting a hair transplant for over 5 years but was always put off by the price, and generally being a bit scared! I chose GMH Cosmedica over other companies because of the English connection. My big worry was the language barrier, and as GMH has a team in England I was really excited to work with them. And to their credit Mike and Lee (who I whats app'd most of the time) were good!

I have been thinking about this review a lot because I am completely conflicted. I have given 3*, but this doesn't tell the story. If I look at my hair transplant now, and I think of that fact that in 1 year's time I will not be thinking about the experience at Cosmedica, and just looking at my hair, I would probably give 6 stars! I love the shape of my hairline, they gave me max density to give me a thicker looking frontal area, I am over the moon.

Now, if I look at the rest of the experience I had, I would probably score them 2*. To be fair, I know some of the things are out of their control, but as a company that does this all the time, I really expected things to move smoother.

HOTEL- Where do I start! Pretty ok amenities wise, there is a small pool which is cool, and a gym which kept my GF occupied. We had 3 different rooms in 3 nights! The first room smelt so badly of smoke it felt like walking into a 1970's Jazz club. The second room was so close to the airport I felt like I was going to take off. There was also the noise through the tannoy at 3am that kept us awake, and this was the night before the procedure, so not a great start! The third room was fine, just a shame it took so long to get there! We had an absolute nightmare on the first night with room service as well, just rude, incompetent, unapologetic. Again, not what you want the night before a life-changing procedure!

COSMEDICA - As I mentioned above, I love my transplant. But there are definitely some things that could be improved at the hospital. Firstly, I was really disappointed that Dr Acar was not there to help with my consultation, I hadn't paid for him to open the channels, but when you get all of the paperwork etc you are told you will meet the 'world famous' Dr Acar. This didn't happen, I understand he cannot work every hour under the sun, but I would have really appreciated a message from the team before saying Dr Acar would not be there but Dr whoever will be there instead, after all the clinic is built on his reputation. The doctor I had was lovely, but she couldn't speak English, so I had a translator. The translator was fine, but it just isn't the same not being able to have a flowing conversation. I wasn't actually told who would be doing what with my transplant. It turns out the doctor actually only comes in for like 15 mins (could have been longer) to open the channels, the rest of the time it is the technicians slaving away for 8 hours! It all just felt like there was a distinct lack of communication, on something that is so important, like who is actually putting the hairs in my head!!!

Another small moan, the head shave! I mean I wasn't expecting a skin fade from a hairdresser, but I was left with lumps and clumps of long hair everywhere, meaning the next day when I was sore I had to ask them to cut my hair again! Just a small thing which I couldn't believe.

I was in the procedure room from 08:50 until 16:45, so they put in a big shift, and again (so far) I think they did a great job! during the procedure, there was lots of laughing and joking between my 2 technicians, which is a little off-putting, as it is right in your ear! Now don't get me wrong, If I was working on a head for 8 hours I am sure i would want to talk in my native tongue, but I would still talk to the patient on a regular basis. Instead of just 'you ok' every 2 hours or so.

The day after the procedure I was told I would be picked up at 09:30-10. Set my alarm for 08:45 in order to get breakfast, then BANG at 08:50 we get a call in the room telling me we need to be down for our pick up at 9! My GF and I rushed around, missed breakfast and came downstairs only to be told after waiting for 10 minutes that pick up was at 10, not at 9.......... So frustrating! We got to the hospital again, there seemed to be lots of waiting around. There were about 4 other people that had their procedure the same day as me, but everything just took forever. One of the staff came over and explained how to do my hair wash, this was a shock as I had booked the package which had my first hair was by a nurse, this was a huge worry of mine. I was told that the hospital wasn't open Sunday so I couldn't have my hair washed. No one told me I wouldn't have the hair wash, I had paid an extra 400 pounds to have the gold+ package and was missing the last day of it! It felt like I could have just bought the 6-month package of creams etc and then paid 1800 and got home a day earlier! This was really annoying. Then there was a big discussion about pick up for the airport in the morning to get us to the airport. Our flight was at 11:40 @ the new airport, not Ataturk, so Mustafa (who had been amazing up to this point) told us he would pick us up at 7am. I thought this seemed really early, but he said with traffic etc he wanted to be sure we made it, and who was I to tell him how to do his job! We set our alarm early, get up, have breakfast come down and wait in reception for Mustafa..... and wait.... and wait.... at 07:30am I went to reception to ask them to call him, the girl at the desk spoke to him for 5 mins on the phone, and then just said 'I will call you a taxi' No explanation what had happened, no 'sorry he overslept' no nothing. Just another example of terrible customer service. We got picked up right away, and just as I thought, we got to the airport 3 1/2 hours early....

My conclusion....

I would recommend Cosmedica to my friends, but I would tell them my experience, and hope they have a better one!

I was debating a transplant for 2 years and spoke to many company’s. I couldn’t decide who and was sick of the outrageous figures English companies wanted.
A close friend and a lot of research recommended get more hair / Cosmedica and once I spoke to mike Smith I knew where I was going to go.
I then decided to save up and Mike was patient with me and once I booked the help was almost like I had my own PA for the experience. Checking my flights , organising and more than anything making me relax knowing that I was in safe hands.
The whole experience was easy due to mike and the staff in Istanbul it makes a mockery of our country’s health care.
Dr acar explained everything in great detail and made me understand the whole process
I had the 2 day mega session 15 months ago and it’s took 10 years off me .
Even though I’ve paid and have no reason to speak to them, Mike REGULARLY checks in on me and ensures I’m still good. I’ve recommended over 5 friends and 3 have just come back and are all the same - surprised at the service and the quality of the product they give you. My results are absolutely ridiculous. No patches , looks natural , completely all binded. Hair is healthy due to the after care also is explained clearly and easy to follow.
Also , I am a boxer and I always need sponsors. Mike approached me to get his brand in board and we struck up a great sponsorship deal. I can’t speak highly enough of the gent

I am 6 weeks post procedure and I can honestly say I am very happy with the progress and ongoing contact from Mike and his team so far.

I initially looked into getting an FUE around 18 months ago - speaking to a variety of specialists across the UK & Europe - whilst conducting my research I came across Get More Hair via an endosement from Calum Best. Naturally, I was always sceptical travelling abroad for the procedure but after communicating with Mike (and Calum via social media) my concerns were quickly put to bed.

I could only compare my experience with GMH and Cosmedica as the "Rolls Royce" of Hair Transplant industry. The most important aspect for me was always how much the Consultants conducting the procedure could educate me - DR Acar simply blew me away with his knowledge. He was able to explain (in detail) his methodology from; hair line design, graft extraction, and even down to making incisions and aftercare.

Whilst on my second day I met the father on a patient, who turned out to be a Clinical Director at one of the largest cosmedic hospitals in Germany. He had been recommended Dr Acar via a colleague as "The best FUE / Hair transplant Surgeon in europe." It was this moment that I knew thaf I had made the right decision.

Not only was the experience at the Cosmedica fantastic but Mike Smith was a true professional and I am extremely grateful for his support. From the moment the plan landed I was taken care of until the lsst day.
