Worst gift card purchase experience

Bought a kohls e gift card .did not receive ecode after 4 hours, (sites like raise and cardpool deliver e code within one hour), so I emailed their customer service to cancel the order within 4 hours after placing the order. Before placing the order, I read thru their entire terms and conditions carefully, and noted that orders cancelled after 24 hours will incur a 20 percent processing fee, which is why I sent the cancellation email as fast as I could.

I called their customer rep the next day to check on my order status, Benjamin picked up the phone and told me that my order has been cancelled, and I will receive a confirmation by the end of business day. However, no email that day.

I called the following day again to follow up on the status. Again, Benjamin picked up the phone. At first, he told me my gift card code would be released in the next couple of hours. Then , after I reminded him of my cancellation email, his response immediately changed and told me that my cancellation email had been received (what a bunch of BS Considering he just told me my ecode was on its way!). He also told me I was charged 20 percent processing fee even though I canceled within 24 hrs. I asked him to email me a copy of the terms and conditions , which by the way i already printed a copy for my own record when placing my order in case craps like this happen. He said he would email me a copy, again , by the end of business day. Guess what, again nothing.

Four days passed, not a word about my order status , and it is clear that this site is fraudulent. I am sick of dealing with them. In a few days , I will have to file a charge back (thank goodness that i kept all the evidence). And will file a BBB complaint in the meantime. Stay away from this site as far as you can.

pay extra to send a e code--Send the gift card ASAP, WE PAID FOR IT!

Terrible that they want you to pay $3.99 to send a e code that should be sent instantly as soon as you pay. I use Raise or Saveya first because they send as soon as you buy. Need to be more customer oriented.

$250 purchase limit of electronic gift cards is frustrating

The purchase limit of $250/mo for electronic gift cards is annoying. There should be an option to provide more info to waive or increase the limit especially for businesses. Faster delivery would be nice too.

Thank you for the feedback. Once we text run our ecode policy with the limitations we will be able to collect data to see if it would be possible to lift the limits however for now this is the policy to avoid fraudulent behavior on our end. I do apologize for the inconvenience. We are working on immediate delivery this year.

No payment recieved

I mailed my cards to gift card rescue 2/19, you SAID you didn't receive till 3/5 & a check wasn't sent till 3/28? Site said checks are mailed within 2 days of receipt of cards not 23 days later. However I still have not recieved a check & it is now April 28. I tried a small sell with a competitor company. They recieved cards in 5 days & had a payment to me 7 days after that.the entire time from start to finish took less than 2 weeks. It's been 2 1/2 months & all I am getting is I have to wait longer? Research has me finding this is not an isolated incident. I highly do not recommend this company at all & will be informing my friends to use the competitor co pant I found that was much faster & easier to work with. Will never use gift card rescue again & will tell all of my colleagues the same.

Fraudulent Business

I purchased a Brooks Brothers eGift card 10 days ago, I checked the balance the moment I received it and the balance was correct. Yesterday, I tried to use it but I found the balance to be ZERO. I have never ever experienced this with other discounted Giftcards retailers. I started searching GCR reviews to find out that MANY customers had the same issue. I emailed them and requested a refund to my credit card, received an email from them today saying that my request is outside the 24 hours refund period. A supervisor must review your request. Any refunds offered will be applied to the GiftCardRescue.com account associated with this order. They attached a refund request form that I am required to fill out and then send it back to them together with the following:

- Receipt from attempted purchase,
- Balance check receipt from store,
- Screen shot of online attempted purchase,
- Email from Merchant proving discrepancy or cancelled purchase,
- Record of who you spoke with and phone number called,
- Screen shot of Card History from website,
- Screen shot of Transaction History from website

Then, they will respond within 7-14 days. The above long list of requirements is YOUR responsibility, not mine. You have the serial number and the PIN code records and you should be doing the investigation process yourself. This is illegal and I don't accept it. I will not be spending the next 2 MONTHS begging you to refund my credit card like other victims. It's easier for me to file a lawsuit against your company.

Please check their Better Business Bureau account before you deal with them.

Personal privacy - Beware

In setting up an account, this site requires one to provide a social security number and date of birth.

If you value your personal privacy, DO NOT REGISTER with this company. You do not know where this information is going nor the security procedures in effect. To purchase you are providing a credit card number. Give someone a valid credit card number, your social security number and date of birth and you are just asking to be robbed.

Beware of identity theft!

Same Story as Others - NO CHECK!

Sold a $250 gift card for $200, still haven't received a check. I received an email on 4/8/16 stating that "a check had been sent as of 4/11/16" and that I should expect to receive it in 3-5 business days.

1. How could my check have been sent on 4/11/16 if that was a future date at the time of the email?

2. It has been more than 3-5 business days and no sign of a check. Of course they say if you don't get the check within 14 business days to contact them (which is virtually impossible). Why would they give the 14 day contact notice if they told me to expect a check in 3-5 days? They simply want to delay you having the right to complain.

3. When I did get a hold of C/S, I was then told that it would be three weeks, not two....

Same story as everyone else. From reading other reviews, I expect that I will have a lot of waiting to do before I even have a chance of getting this money. Already filed a complaint with BBB and the Attorney General is a close friend - shouldn't be too difficult to get a complaint to their office pushed through.

WHERE IS MY MONEY

My order was place on 2/26/16. The cards were received 3/5/16. The payment was processed 3/24/16. After a long wait time with customer service email which finally responded and said the check was sent as of 3/25/16, and two calls to customer service that keep telling me "the card was mailed out just keep waiting" I still do not have my check. Today is 4/22/16 and my cards are not here. That is well over the 10-14 business day wait time after checks were mailed for which they will be received as stated on the website. I am very unhappy with this ridiculous running around in circles with customer service and deceitful customer service that gets my hopes up every week for my $145 check I am suppose to be receiving and keep getting let down.

yeah, the check's in the mail... sure it is.

Their contract with me stated "You’ll receive a check for $83.07. The check will be mailed within two business days after your gift card has been received and verified." Sent in my gift card (with a receipt confirmation). The say they received it three weeks ago. And, uh, where is my check? I've contacted them several times. Every time they say they're mailing it. Yeah, right. 'Cause "two business" days takes three weeks in what universe?Do yourself a favor and use a different business. These guys said they'd pay me a bit more than other sites, but by the time you pay for shipping and receipt verification, you actually wind up getting less money. Not to mention how much your time and effort are worth. Go elsewhere.

Horrible. They need to be shut down

Same story as everyone else. Sent my gift card in the first of February. I heard nothing for a month and of course no response to my inquiries. Finally a month later they send me an email saying it's been received and I would be contacted 1-2 business days regarding mailing my check. I heard nothing yet again and waited and waited. No response to any of my inquiries asking where my check was. Finally, mid-March they sent me an email saying my check was mailed out to me. Here we are mid-April and no check, no response. I will never use these guys again and will make sure no one else will either. There are too many other companies like this that are more professional and better to deal with. I wish now I had used one if them. I have reported them to BBB and will possibly file with law enforcement if this doesn't get resolved soon.

Slow Processing, Stall Tactics, Possible False Information

Update 4/27/16: after reaching out to the person whose email address is listed on TrustPilot, she promptly investigated and I had my check in a few days. They should really get 2 starts for this experience, however, I can't give 2.5 so am bumping it up to 3 as she was very prompt and admitted their mistake, which is more than I would expect generally after such poor treatment by everyone else at the company and I received my check. I would still be cautious with these folks (though I don't think their up to anything nefarious anymore, just that they are struggling to run their business) and I won't be doing business with them for awhile, but I may give them a 2nd chance if it looks like their business processes have improved after a few months.

USPS says that Gift Card Rescue received my gift cards on Thursday, March 31. They have yet to update my order and certainly have not made payment. I called several times and sent several emails. They only respond about 1/2 the time and their response is always that it takes "3-5 days" to process. Well, it's been well over 3-5 days. The last person I spoke with said that three weeks the amount of time it can take to "process" and order. That's their last chance. If I don't hear from the by Wednesday I'll be notify law enforcement and consumer organizations. There are far better buyers of gift cards out there. Avoid these folks until they get their act together or in case they go to jail.

I deleted my previous review that said the same when a Gift Card Resume agent replied (reply below) to show that there is no record for the order number listed and asked me to update, and I couldn't find a way to do it via edit. I think I had the correct one last time, and am certain I have it this time, straight off of your website; sorry in advance if I made an error previously. I have not made any purchases and this was my first time selling. The order was placed 3/24/16.

Bought $100 Giftcard, had $0 Balance

Do not deal with these scammers. I bought a $100 Mortons giftcard and didnt use it until a few months later for my anniversary. It was embarrassing when they told me it had $0 balance.

I contacted the company and they told me they wont do anything because I waited over 60 days...as if I would use it before my anniversary.

I checked with Mortons and they advised me that it was activated then deactivated due to a chargeback and they sent me a card with $0 balance.

I have open claims with the Attorney general office, the BBB and I will next be looking into a class action lawsuit as it seems many have been scammed by this company.

...... been a victim of Gift Card Rescue?? Good grief... can anyone interpret their reply below??

In spite of the occasional positive review that Gift Card Rescue solicits and then "plants" amongst the hundreds of negative ones, BEWARE, there is a reason for all of the complaints.

Any apology from them should include: In our business of buying and selling gift cards, Gift Card Rescue (GCR) CEO Kwame Kuadey and the employees apologize for knowingly engaging in practices toward our customers that are deceptive and misleading as well as possibly fraudulent and illegal. We have had hundreds of complaints filed against us with agencies such as the Better Business Bureau etc.

- - - Although I did finally receive a payment from GCR on 4/5/16 after waiting over two months, GCR most likely responded only to communications they received on my behalf from The Greater Maryland Better Business Bureau and the South Dakota Attorney General Office. If you have been a victim of this company, I would encourage you to file a complaint with The Greater Maryland Better Business Bureau, your State Attorney General Office, The United States Postal Inspector and Federal Bureau of Investigation (for possible internet fraud). All have forms you can complete on line and also phone assistance if necessary.

In addition, I would encourage everyone to use Facebook, Twitter and any other social media outlets to warn others about Gift Card Rescue. Their treatment of customers is deplorable.

** Can anyone interpret the mumbo jumbo response below reading "We are in the process now of updating our website to reflect the time period of selling a gift card to avoid confusion in the future". What does that mean exactly. Plus, months and months have gone by with literally hundreds and hundreds of complaints against them and Gift Card Rescue is just now (April 2016) thinking they might need to update their web site? DO NOT hold your breath. It ain't gonna happen!! They always have an excuse for their sorry behavior. AVOID GIFT CARD RESCUE.

HORRIBLE "company" to have business with!

So many things are wrong with this company. You accept the gift card, process it, then take your time in sending the check? I have done business with other gift card companies and they processed and payed me in a timely manner. Unlike this company that takes their sweet time to send back the check. Does your company not have the funds? Is this company a fraud? It sure seems like it is. Today I called, and to no surprise, no one answered! I have sent multiple emails, no answer. It is stated on your website that it will take no longer than 1 business day to get a response, so where is it? The process is very frustrating for those who need the money to pay bills. I demand the check or I am sure that I and fellow other customers will file a class action lawsuit against this company for false advertising and FRAUD! I demand a sincere and honest response. Do not give me an "I'm sorry for the late response, we have been backed up with transactions" crap. If you do not have the funds or the labor to do business, then I'd advise you to please close your doors and save many people from unnecessary headaches. Thank you.

UPDATE: WHAT IS GOING ON?!?!?!?!?! I have yet to receive my payment giftcardrescue. You posted that I should receive my check within 4-6 business days, today is the sixth business day and i have yet to receive my check!!! Why does this company have to lie so much. Why can't I receive an honest answer?!?!?!?!?!! I want my check, I am so sick and tired of waiting. I have filed a complaint with the BBB and will soon file a case with the attorney general of Maryland if I don not receive my payment. I want my money!!!

UPDATE 2 May: After filing a complaint with the BBB of Maryland, I finally received my check today.
