SCAM BEWARE

I rented their place in Toronto on yonge st for a concert and had the same problem of them trying to keep my deposit and charge me money for an old scratched floor and pillow case with drools. This is a scam. They asked for a pic of me holding my ID and passport which should’ve been a big red flag. I’m now reading the reviews and see that they have “copy and pasted” this scam tactic on to other guest as well. When I called PayPal to get refunded, I was told that paypal is aware of this fraudulent company.

I encourage everyone who has been scammed to file a report with the Canadian government. Type into google “file fraudulent business practice Canada”

Dear Linda, thank you for providing feedback. The linen in units is changed and washed after every guest and everything is cleaned and the condition of the apartment is reported to us. Since the damages were found after your stay and no similar damage was previously reported, it was deducted that it appeared during your accommodation. The requirement for the photo of the ID is stated on the listing page and all guest's information is deleted upon check-out.
Kind regards, Globalstay team.

These guys are COMPLETE SCAMMERS!!

These guys are COMPLETE SCAMMERS!!! DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM! They do not have anywhere in the description about their bizzare check in process. They ask for $200 security deposit and also to send picture of your license, etc. Then they ask you to meet a representative of theirs on a side of a road who was over 45 minutes late. Then this representative takes you to the building and the whole interaction is just weird. He refused to let us take our own stuff by ourselves upstairs and said there would be less questions from reception. Absolutely bizzare!!!! Stayyyy awayyyyyyyy

DO NOT STAY HERE-THEY DO NOT REFUND…

DO NOT STAY HERE-THEY DO NOT REFUND FULL DEPOSIT

My best friend and I rented a condo for a night to see a concert in Toronto. We did not eat in the room or use it for any other purpose than sleeping. Ultimately we slept there a total of 6 hours. When it came to getting the deposit back, they sent me a photo of a years old pillow with drool marks all over it and said they were charging $30 for the pillow. There is absolutely no way either of us did that over a 6 hour sleep, plus the pillow cases had covers on them. When I complained and informed them I would be disputing the charges with my bank, they reversed the balance of my deposit $200 balance and sent me photos of soiled sheets! So Monday I have my call with the bank and I will be sharing the metadata of the photos with them as well. Reading other reviews it's apparent they do this with all visitors.

Worst place I have ever stayed

Worst place I have ever stayed. The condo was so hot and advertises air conditioning, but the The air conditioning was not working at all and when we contacted management, they blamed it on us not knowing how to use a thermostat, which is absolutely ridiculous. I came here for medical tests and now I’ve had to go find somewhere else to stay because they refuse to refund me or fix the air conditioning which we gave them our to do. They did say they came and did it was the same and there was absolutely no air conditioning coming out of the vent the temperature in the tiny tiny condo 24 for over hours and hours they are lovely when you check in but as soon as you’re there, they don’t care , as soon as they have your money, they don’t care about you at all

First thing one star is to many for this company on the contract it states that you would receive your deposit back in 7 days well that's not true and they charged me a assessment fee with out notice or warning they lied about the number of bedrooms and I still have not received my deposit 16 days after checkout and you have to take your trash with you this should be written on every trash can and all through out the house to make it easier for the guests instead of sending this information the day before checkout . We was using the trash can outside the whole time and had to get the bags out nasty and uncalled for .I want my money

Scam company, avoid at all cost!

Booked a place in Hamilton, Canada for a day through Booking. Few days before the stay, GLOBALSTAY requested that I send my passport and a selfie via email, which I declined due to concerns about their privacy policy. They also asked for 200 CAD security deposit to be sent to a PayPal account - another red flag because of no deposit protection. Although they said these were "mentioned" in their imprint, they were not explicit. I didn't feel comfortable sending personal details to an unfamiliar company email nor the deposit. At the end they didn't provide check-in instructions, had to book an Airbnb.

We rented the "full house" port elgin

We rented the "full house" they have advertised in Port Elgin. Anyways, it's advertised as entire house. When we get there's it's actually a basement unit. We get dirty looks from all the neighbours upon arrival for some reason. Obviously there's been previous guests partying here upsetting neighbours. Had to pay $1000 deposit on a $300 stay. Then we got charged $300 for two dirty towels we left ( just so you know we washed all towels in the washer and dryer before we left so any dirt on the towels was due to the ineffective washer they installed in the unit). Was told we'd have the whole place to ourselves but we had guests upstairs that kept us up all night. They weren't loud it's just the construction is so bad that a casual conversation sounds like a raging party. Very misleading company. I feel bad for the young guy they have maning the phones, I'm sure he just gets yelled at all day. Needless to say, I don't recommend you stay here. The saddest part? We're in a housing crisis and this company decides it's a great idea to buy up single family homes to scan people out of their money instead of giving it to a productive family. Why is this allowed. Search " Global Stay Saugeen shores Expedia" of you want to checkout the listing for yourself.

GlobalStay on BOOKING.COM is a fraudulent SCAM company that takes money and does not provide a property and steals personal information.

GlobalStay is a fraudulent company that is being run on Booking.Com. Booking.com do not care about running these scams on their site anymore. Tried to check in to a villa in Bali using GLOBALSTAY. We were 3 hours from arriving, they told me to upload passport details and a deposit using Paypal. I did this because we were attending a wedding. I booked this accommodation 6 months in advance. They told me they were giving me instructions to enter the property in 10 mins. They never responded using WhatsApp. Then they told me to cancel my booking. It is a clear fraud and scam. Although, I feel like I should have searched on Google, I stupidly trusted booking.com. My husband was scammed using booking.com for rental car in the UK. It is a sad statement that the whole internet cannot be trusted. In the future, I will have to do a google search for everything and type in the word fraud. Hope this stops other people from being scammed and that the police/ investigators stop these people.

Stay far far away…

Would have grabbed a hotel room if I could have found one with 3 beds. Anyhow, the apartment looked nice, lots of space, more than we needed for the night, but had 3 beds. Said it had air conditioning, but I didn’t. Western Canada under a heat wave, a/c was a must, wouldn’t have rented it otherwise. It was +31 Celsius with a light hot breeze. Inside the apartment was the same but no breeze. Still the same in the morning. Contacted global stay to see about the a/c, but they gave me some crap line about it having air “conditioning” which in their world means an air exchanger. If the air is just as hot inside as out, exchanging the air does jack. They likely consider a window an air “conditioner” too. Thought a partial refund would be fair but nope, they didn’t see it that way. Will attempt to dispute my credit card charge, but not expecting anyone to side with me. Will never ever use hotels.com or global stay ever again.

Memory updated Sure, here is a draft for your Google review: Review for Globalstay Team and Property at 355 Cranbrook Square SE, Calgary, ABI recently rented a property from…

I recently rented a property from Globalstay Team at 355 Cranbrook Square SE, Calgary, AB, and I am extremely disappointed with the experience.

Firstly, the property was advertised as having functioning AC, but upon arrival, the AC was not working, making it very uncomfortable during the hot summer days. Additionally, the WiFi was intermittent and unreliable, which made working from home a significant challenge.

The house lacked sufficient curtains to block the light at night. This was particularly inconvenient since the sun sets around 11 PM during the summer, making it difficult to get a good night's sleep.

Upon checkout, I was charged $635 CAD for excessive wall damage, despite the walls not being in perfect condition when I arrived. Most of the pictures provided as evidence merely showed normal wear and tear, which is expected in any property. Additionally, many of the pictures did not clearly indicate where they were taken from within the unit. It was also very suspicious that the total amount of the claimed damages conveniently added up to the exact value of my security deposit.

As someone who has traveled to Calgary for the past 10 years and rented different houses, I have never experienced anything like this. It seems that Globalstay Team is maintaining their property at the tenants' expense, which I find extremely disrespectful and incorrect.

Overall, I would not recommend renting from Globalstay Team due to their unfair practices and the poor condition of their property.

DO NOT BOOK WITH GLOBALSTAY. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY

I recently had a terrible experience with GlobalStay in Toronto. This company is a complete fraud, and I urge everyone to avoid booking with them.

False Charges: After my stay, they unfairly deducted money from my security deposit, claiming it was for the disposal of a garbage bag supposedly left behind. This is a blatant lie. They are making up charges to keep the deposit money.

Misleading Advertisement: The apartment was nothing like what they advertised. It was dirty, uncomfortable, and in poor condition. This was far from the clean and comfortable space they promised.

Poor Customer Service: When I tried to address the false charges and get my full deposit back, their response was unsatisfactory and dismissive. They have shown no interest in resolving the issue or being honest with their customers.

Hassle at Check-In: The check-in process was a hassle. They required pictures of everyone’s ID, which was inconvenient and intrusive.

GlobalStay is a fraudulent company that looks for ways to keep your deposit money by fabricating lies. Their properties are not as advertised, and their customer service is terrible.

DO NOT BOOK WITH GLOBALSTAY. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. Save yourself the headache and book elsewhere.

I would rather give a downtown junkie my information before these people.

Never even got to check in. We arrived at the location and there was 0 staff to help. I called the number listed on the booking and got jerked around for 3+ hours being hung up on and lied too. They kept my $200 damage deposit EVEN THOUGH WE NEVER GOT TO CHECK IN. They wanted pictures of everyone’s ID that was going to attend. Fast forward 2 weeks later and I am the victim of fraud.

So not only did I not get to stay, they kept the money for the room, the deposit & used my ID for fraudulent purposes.

I did not feel safe bringing my family

Refused to take my family here after several red flags!
Booked through a popular travel site with free cancelation through June 26. I believe the booking type was pay up front only, as I don't believe they have staff on site so you're sending money upfront. (keep that in mind).
(1.) June 27, day AFTER free cancelation expires, Global STAY (GS) reaches out for Deposit by sending a (2.) PayPal request (booking site warns against sending funds outside of it to avoid fraud/scams) to pay an account (3.) linked to a Gmail address, not a Global Stay address. (4.) GS requests $500 instead of $200 listed in the listing. (5.) Upon calling GS to ask about paying onsite, they confirm no staff there, I can do an eTransfer or pay on Stripe, again 3rd party payment systems. Or send a picture of my credit card. (6.) They ask for photo copies of your ID/Passport and a selfie picture. (This is odd and made me feel uncomfortable.) (7.) Online reviews warn of this scam where they ask for more money and don't refund the deposit or refuse entry if you don't pay. (8.) Since I was passed the cancel date I was stuck in double jeapordy. Cancel and pay some $400+ (one night plus fees per cancelation policy they set up) or continue with the reservation.
I did not feel safe going to this property after all these flags. I was able to work with the booking company toward a successful resolution, but it took work. I hope my review can save others the trouble that myself and others who left reviews here and on other sites, experienced.

Horrendous experience with Globalstay

We had an awful experience dealing with this company, The original price booked was fine and I paid this along with a $200 damage 'holding deposit'. Unfortunately, we only booked it the day before arrival due to a late decision after a stay in Niagara Falls to have an overnight stay in Toronto. Shortly before arriving in Toronto, we were notified that a further $300 was required for the damage deposit (making a total of $500, I had emailed Globalstay inc earlier in the day to ask some questions including is there parking, how do we get into the building/which property is it etc, however they hadn't responded so I called them from my mobile. I was disputing the additional $300 deposit and why t hadn’t said this in the booking but they simply said if I dont pay it I can’t stay and the payment made for the accommodation is non refundable so I would lose the deposit. I was still discussing this when they hung upon me. I tied calling back but they had blocked my number, I used my step sons mobile to call but again the answered and then hung up and blocked that number also, this followed with another mobile of our party and again they blocked that number. finally i used yet another mobile and withheld the number and they answered. By this time we were outside the property and it apparent that if I didn't pay the additional $300 I would lose my money paid for the stay and we would have to try and find somewhere else to stay last minute or cancel the trip. Reluctantly I paid the further $300 and we were given access to the property some 2 1/2 hours later (c5.30pm). During all conversations with Globalstay they were rude, unprofessional and to be honest horrible and upsetting to deal with. In addition we had already had to send photos of Passports/driving licences held in our hands include the face of each person holding it, I do not think this is a safe or recommended practice ? but we were giving no choice. On arriving at the apartment we examined the apartment in full to find/record any damage on arrival as I fully expected that they had every intention of 'creating' a damage charge any way they could and probably in the sum of $300.
Therefore it came as no surprise that on Friday 21st June I received an email stating that they would be charging me $300 for damage to a bedside cabinet categorically there was 100% no damage mage caused by us. to make matters even worse they sent 2 pictures, one of the front view of the bedside cabinet and one of the damage. It should be noted that the damage noted doesn't even appear to be the same cabinet that the one that was in the room, quite simply they have fabricated it. Also if you look at the pictures on the booking.com site, it shows the bedside cabinet but on the site the cabinet has legs on, on the photos sent to me there are no legs on the cabinet. I think this company are a disgrace and are a fraudulent company. I have since checked trust pilot and there are 33 reviews each and every review having been given the lowest 1 star rating and all reporting exactly the same practice and experience I have just written above. I can’t actually believe that Booking.com are advertising the property of such a disgraceful company ? I note from some of the reviews that booking.com have previously been made aware of the issues with globalstay.com but booking .com didn't do anything about it?
