Worst Company on Booking.com

Disgusting! Absolute company from hell! 🤬 Beware of their property descriptions, they are so inaccurate and misleading it’s a joke. This company are practised fraudsters, concocting imaginary ’damage’ and charging unjustified amounts to the security deposit. No doubt this increases their profits and probably earns a commission for their staff. They have zero customer service, preferring to be predatory and rudely dismissive of complaints. DO NOT TOUCH THEM WITH A BARGEPOLE! Read the other comments to discover just how consistently disgraceful they are. I sincerely hope they go out of business very soon, anyone who works for them should be ashamed, leave and get a proper job

Dear Guest, thank you for your feedback. We understand your disappointment regarding the incomplete refund of the security deposit. A full refund of the security deposit is possible only if no damage is present. After guests check out, our cleaning team conducts a thorough inspection of the apartment’s condition. If damage is found, we inform the guests and take the necessary action due to the damage caused.

Kind regards, Globalstay team.

Absolutely Appalling Experience – Avoid

I’ve never been so let down by a company in my life. I arrived in Dubai on July 5th with my pregnant wife, expecting to check in to the property we had booked and paid for in advance. Only upon landing did I receive a message saying the property was no longer available—no warning, no heads-up, just a last-minute notification after we had already travelled halfway across the world.

To make matters worse, they rebooked us into a completely different building, over 3km away from the original one. The new place was not what we reserved, completely different, and absolutely filthy. Dirty floors, unclean furniture—it was a total downgrade. It felt like we were dumped there just to shut us up.

The hosting company offered a refund, but that does NOTHING to fix the fact that they ruined the start of our trip, left us scrambling to find last-minute accommodation, and caused us a serious cash flow problem. We’ve had to use emergency funds just to find a safe and decent place to stay. And to top it all off, they’re telling us the refund will take up to 12 days—basically the entire length of our stay.

My wife is pregnant and the stress this caused her is indescribable. We were supposed to relax and enjoy ourselves, not go through this mess. The mental toll and financial burden have been massive.

Booking.com should be ashamed. They failed at every level—no communication, no accountability, no urgency, no care. A refund is the bare minimum, and even that is delayed. This isn’t just a bad experience, it’s a disgrace.

I will never use Booking.com again, and I strongly urge others to avoid them if you care about reliability, safety, or even basic human decency.

Paid for 3BR Apt but received 2BR apt and they refuse to change or give us anything.

I booked a three-bedroom apartment through booking.com in global stay magnificent condos from 6/30-7/9. They gave us a two bedroom apartment instead. I called them twice and the lady told me to email the reservation ones and said manager was not there. I messaged them through booking.com and gave them photos screenshots but they replied like a bot saying it is a three bedroom apartment.

Global Stay is a scam

Global Stay is a scam, plain and simple. My partner and I booked what we thought was a nice downtown apartment in Toronto. After jumping through their absurd verification requirements we were sent check in instructions for an apartment at a completely different location.

We’ve requested a full refund, but these scammers are refusing to return our money.

Update(07/15): The claim that we were given the apartment that we booked is a flat out lie. We initially booked an apartment located at 300 Front Street West and the check in instructions were for a completely different property located at 250 Wellington, both in Toronto. This was material change in location and building.

Global-Stay renting apartment with bedbugs.

When we notified Global-Stay we found bedbugs, they only offered to come with a can of bedbug Raid, witbout moving us. My stay at the Burano in Toronto managed by GlobaStay was marred by finding bedbugs in our apartment on the first day there. We notified them after the second day when we realized there was an infestation in the 3 bedroon apartment. Trip was June 7-14 2025. Since then, I have discovered other guest reviews who stayed in a Burano/Global Stay 3-bedroom apartment and reported bedbugs in April and May this year. Therefore, Global is well aware their property continues to be infested. What they have done so far is not enough, but they continue to rent it to the public.

Dear Pamela, thank you for your feedback. We are deeply concerned and sincerely apologize for the distressing experience you described during your stay. We took your claims, and the previous reports of potential bed bug activity in the apartment you stayed. We have contracted a professional pest control company to conduct a thorough inspection and treatment of the affected apartment and any adjacent units. We will also be reviewing our preventative pest control measures for all of our properties to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for our guests.

The worst hotel experience in my life

The worst hotel experience in my life. Booking was simple using Booking .com. But they don't give refunds for cancellations, even though booking .com says it does up to one day in advance.
The you have to send them pictures of your ID and you holding your ID
Once you have done this, they send you a 3 page instruction manual on how to get into the place. This involves illegally parking on a busy road, going into an unmarked door, going to P3 of the parking garage, through 3 doors to find a wall of lockboxes. You then have to find yours in about 100 lockboxes, then get back to your car and drive back to the building.
Customer service collectively share one brain cell. They were absolutely useless and kept blaming Booking .com for their problems. It took 1.45 hours just to find the key and get into my room.
The rooms was nothing special, and there was no soap or shampoo/conditioner for the shower.

Absolutely horrible company to work…

Absolutely horrible company to work with. Booked with them through booking.com and read the entire policy of the stay - however was informed after booking that I had to be 25 or above to check in. Was not in the policy on booking.com. Was told I could send them 1K damage deposit and they would let me stay with them even though I did not meet their apparent age requirements. I sent them the money via PayPal, and because of the high amount of money being sent, the money was put into a pending status. The company then proceeded to argue with me for almost ten hours (while I sat in various coffee shops and train stations trying to keep warm and waiting to be allowed to check in to this property) and they eventually cancelled the booking from their end on booking.com, leaving me without a place to sleep at nearly midnight. They returned my damage deposit, but have refused to refund me the $526 I paid to stay with them, even though they refused to give me the check-in information and cancelled the booking on their end before we could negotiate a way for me to stay with them. Had they been replying to messages consistently that afternoon and evening I presume we might have found a way for me to stay with them, however, they would often go an hour or two between replies, giving me no other option but to spend even more money booking elsewhere so I did not end up stranded and homeless in a city I didn’t know.

Dear Lucy, thank you for your feedback. We understand your frustration regarding the security deposit. We want to emphasize that our customer support team offered you alternative payment methods for the security deposit. Unfortunately, you declined to utilize these options. As stated in the listing (and visible before booking), a security deposit is required. Because you refused the available payment alternatives and informed us that you would not be using the reservation, we regret to inform you that your refund request has been declined.

The location was great it was close to the PATH so we were able to walk to all the shops without much difficulty. It was close to the water so the views were great. We did have a little difficulty locating the lock box under the bench down the street, there were a lot attached to the bench once we did find it. There were lots of restaurants within walking distance. The apartment was clean.

Alberta visits Toronto

My son and I traveled to Toronto from Alberta for a Raptors game.
Easily found the property on Front street after a 15 minute walk from Union train station.
Walked into the building, had a conversation with the concierge and we were in the apartment in no time at all.
The apartment was wonderful, no surprises, found the unit to be as represented by the marketing presentation.

The location was very convenient for me. The apartment is equipped with everything you need, the kitchen had enough dishes and utensils. The bed is comfortable. It was easy to use the parking. There is a swimming pool in the building, but I did not have time to visit it. The staff was very friendly, helpful. I will stay here again.

Stayway from GlobalStay

This company called GlobalStay , on Bay Street, Toronto is not legit and it is not related to the Burano Condos that manage the building. They did not honor their own Checkout policy. The policy stated you give 4 hours notice to checkout late after noontime, we gave them 1.5 day prior notice for checkout late but they FAILED to comply with this written policy. They invade our privacy and throughout our luggage in the hallway unattended while we were out for an event.
Further, they did not tell us where to leave the condo key after they removed us from the apartment and later they charged our credit card by not refunding the security deposit of $ 200. They violated the Expedia policy by communicating outside the its platform to charge that security deposit. There is no representative to them at the condo building as they stated in their direction. The front desk clerk at the building told us they have nothing to do with GlobalStay as it is considered Airbnb and they only deal with resident of Burano condos which a different management. It appears as if its a phantom company that they try to avoid liabilities if it arise. We have tried even to get their physical address inorder to file a legal action, they did not provide it and even they refuse to issue invoice for the $ 200 for charges justification, they refused. As it may relates to the condo itself, it was disappointing its size, very tiny not only that but also we have seen a mice running and we have taken vid and pics of it. You better to go to a one star motel that probably be better. We are suing them. DONT GO THERE IF YOU TAKE MY ADVISE.

Dear Amr, thank you for your feedback. As we explained in the conversation between you and our customer support team we can suggest you a free late check-out one or two hours past the standard check-out time, but we could not guarantee it will be approved because after the end of the guests’ stay, our cleaning team has to enter in order to prepare the apartment for the next stay. Otherwise, the guest will need to extend their reservation for an additional night. For these reasons, we ask guests to follow the standard check-in and check-out times, which are clearly stated in the listing page. We fully understand your frustration regarding the deposit deduction. Please note that our property maintains strict house rules which are clearly stated on the listing page, and any violation results in forfeiture of the full deposit amount.

Absolute scam. Do not go NEAR this company

I'm not going to waste more of my time spelling out how horrible this company is, as I've already wasted too much of it fighting with them for a refund I'm owed. They are super sketchy, will lie to you, screw you over, AND they've blocked me from leaving a review on Expedia. Do not go near anything that has their name. What a horrible, horrible experience the whole thing was, and they've screwed me out of 600 dollars. If there's any justice in this world, they will burn in hell.

Beware! Globalstay is a scam!

Beware! It's a scam! Worst travel experience I've ever had. The room was advertised at $85 a night, but fees, some fraudulent, added up to $179. One was a fee for having another person with me, but charged before I even showed up. First, I was completely alone. Second, even if I weren't, how could they have known that before I showed up! They obviously just tack fees on and expect you to fight to get them removed. They want you to take a picture of yourself and your ID and email it to them. Super sketchy. Then they want you to paypal them an additional $200. Only paypal. They won't take anything else. They claim you get it back after 7 days. It's actually 7 business days and I'm not holding my breath. One of their victims suggests to report them to "file fraudulent business practice Canada". I will definitely be doing that. Not customer care at all. For whats now $379 in all, I could have stayed somewhere nice, not somewhere where finding my key in a
stairwell in a lockbox like some tortuous treasure hunt and being told to wander the building with my garbage in my hand looking for a garbage shoot that I can't open anyway is the level of hospitality. This property should be de-listed for…

This property should be de-listed for accommodation until repairs are made to fix a leak in the ceiling that contributes to a disgusting odor that greets the guests upon entry to the apartment. It can only be described as a foul combination of fish and mould. We contacted the property about the active leak in the ceiling (right above the bed in the master bedroom and nothing was done. There are several stains on the ceiling in the master bedroom from this leak which has clearly been ongoing for quite some time as the damage is fairly extensive, including bubbling of the drywall just inside the bedroom door. The property managers were incredibly unhelpful and have now tried to charge us for a broken glass that was left in the cupboard by either their cleaning staff or the previous visitors. The least of our issue was the fact that this property was listed as a "park view" when it in fact faces an apartment across the street with no park in sight. I want my money back from this property as no one should be staying in an apartment with such obvious maintenance issues.

Company with poor policies

A group of 2 adults and 2 kids stayed here back in June for 3 nights. One of the kids had trouble with his ears from the plane and it ended up bleeding on the pillow one night. By the time I realized it, it was already dried in. They kept $45 of our $200 deposit even after I explained what happened. Dear Ronna, thank you for your feedback. Please note, the refundable security deposit is a standard requirement for the accommodation process, as clearly stated on the listing page. The security deposit is refunded within 7 days after the check-out and no damage was found after your stay. We understand how frustrating it must be not to have a security deposit fully refunded. However it did not happen without a reason. Our cleaning crew provides us with a report about the property's condition. After comparing the previous report with the one left after your departure, it was deducted that the damage was left during your stay.

I am writing again regarding my experience

I am writing again regarding my experience with GlobalStays at 98 Lillian St in Toronto. I received a response from GlobalStays repeating that I was at fault for staying beyond checkout and for damage to their property from smoking. Once again, I paid extra for a late checkout and was still harassed. Also, I don’t smoke and there is absolutely no smoke damage to the apartment. This is nothing but fraud. I would also like to add that they contacted me for a credit card on our check in date and a photograph with my passport. They wanted my credit card so they could perpetrate this fraud. It is actually completely illegal for GlobalStays to have asked me for a credit card as I had booked the stay and paid for the stay with Vrbo.

Be aware of challenges on self checkin, self checkout and the nine existent support

While the site itself and the apartment was beautiful, the service is just below anything I have ever experienced.
I stayed in 2 Allendale. The instructions for the self check aka scavenger hunt for the key under to the degree of worthless. It took 3 people 40 minutes to find the lockbox. We also encountered not being able to go back into the parking garage where our car was located.
Once gotten to the key of the first apartment we booked, it turned out the other colleagues were in a different location of Global stay, which defeated the entire purpose of booking Global Stay in first place.

The self checkout instructions seemed clear. Leave no later Talan 11am, leave key on kitchen table.
Problem was that the key fob is needed to get the elevator into the underground parking garage, as the place comes with parking. Fortunately one of the residents was able to help.

Durning the journey we called/texted the numbers on the self checkin instructions with no one getting back until an entire day after. So completely worthless.
Won’t stay there again.

Dear Bibiana, thank you for taking time to leave feedback on your stay. We apologize for the inconveniences you encountered. The check-in instructions provide directions to the lockbox and photos to help guest find the location. During the process of making a reservation, guests can contact our customer support team to ask questions regarding arrangements. We would have assisted you in this regard if it was possible at that moment.
During check-out the fob is not required to operate the lift. As we have many guests staying our phone line becomes busy and we might not able to answer every call. We recommend using our email for fast communication.
