Car broke down due to mechanical issue. Car was towed away. Costumers service asked us to come to office to get another car and promised to compensate the taxi invoice. After 2 months and plenty of emails the agreements made with customers service has still not been fulfilled and the invoice has not been refunded. Extremely disappointing that the company does not support costumers in the acute event of a technical brake down of rented car

I was coerced into buying insurance for over £200 that wasn’t required and then had £63 deducted after the car had been dropp off because of some dirt on the carpet that is clearly normal usage - £63 seriously??!! Rip off - and avoid at all costs!! Evitez cette compagnie!!

Best price in the market, easy to rent when you take full insurance otherwise they ask for 1500€ deposit. The car wasn’t really clean but new and good

The best experience with Goldcar Marseille Airport and their Key'n Go package. Nice car and new Fiat500,and the money blocked to guarantee full fuel, returned in few days after drop off the car. I will return to Goldcar and and strongly recommend to anyone for rent a cars from this company!

The system is a mess and full of bugs. The customer service is not able to help and chance mistakes in the system. We paid extra money for key n go, but the system had wrong times
Luckily the service staff was very friendly and anyway the whole process was around 5min which was okay.

Excellent pick up and drop off experience with kind staff. No scams around damage, although the documentation for that was not given to me until I'd already signed. There was no opportunity to inspect the vehicle before hiring but the folk acted in good faith.

The car had previously been used by a smoker and the odour was left in it.

The Fiat 500 is a crappy car, so don't expect too much, and in the future I'll upgrade, but the service was excellent

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. THEY ARE ABSOLUTE CROOKS. They make you pay 120 euro for gas when you take the car which you will get back upon delivery. Brought it back full and they still only refunded 40 euro's. But it gets worse. We brought the car back in good order, not a scratch and ON TIME (I took a video which has the time + status of the car). Next day I look at my card and they have deducted WITHOUT PERMISSION another 153 euro's. FOR WHAT? When we called them they said it was a mistake as they thought we brought it back too late, when I submitted a refund for the payment they rejected it. THEY HAVE NOW COST ME NEARLY 500 EURO FOR 3 DAYS.
They will review my new review request within '13 days'.

AVOID AT ALL COST, you think you found a cheap option? Please look further, I don't even want to think about all the times they must have gotten away with this as someone was just not paying attention. CROOKS.

A really good service from GoldCar. I was particularly happy with the key and go service… we cut the queue, typed our ref number into a machine, and out came our keys, the car was there ready and waiting! When we left, we drove in, a man was waiting there, we gave him the keys, and all was done! Very pleased with the service. Ignore all the negative reviews but definitely pay extra for the key and go service as the queues can be long!

The overall experience was good but one small issue let them down with having someone available at the point of collection to report additional damage on the car too.

Collected car from Nice airport. Staff were friendly and helpful. Car was slightly smaller than expected, but was OK for our needs. Reasonable price and an easy drop off.

I though the cost of the child car seat was expensive. If I had known what was required, I would have brought our own as we could have put this in the hold free of charge.

Good car, value for money compared to other sites (even though all car hire seems to have gone up a lot in price) , easy pick up and drop off in Bordeaux . After a bad experience with Gold Car in Majorca, this has redeemed them for me!

The actual car and key n go went well. The issue I had was with the staff member working there. I arrived on Thursday evening into Bordeaux I was coming to see my dad who was in hospital. When I landed the doctor called and said to rush to the hospital as my father was dying. I was only due to collect the car on the Friday morning. I quickly went to the counter and I was told I couldn’t get the car a day earlier and would have to cancel my booking and loose the £200 I had already paid and pay €600 for a new one as I had booked through booking.com. My original booking was from 9am on Friday to 4.00pm on Sunday and I said I have paid for 3 full days but she didn’t care. I asked for a manager and she said she was and they can’t do anything. I then said I would hire for the night if she gives me the same car and then add it to the booking she wouldn’t do that and said I would have to bring the car back the next day and then pick up the other rental I had. I told her I didn’t want to leave my fathers side. There was no help at all! She was not interested. I ended up taking a taxi in the end and paying €300 in taxis back and forward that night to Arcachon as I had my mom and 9 year old son who were staying the night at the airport before we moved to closer to the hospital the next day. My father passed away few hours later. No empathy and disgusting customer service.
