I was impressed with the Ribeyes, but not on the tenderloins. They were very small for the price As I can buy local from a private butcher for better quality and better price.

After receiving our first order and eating several cuts of beef, I discontinued my subscription with one of your competitors. I ad been with them over 3 years, but your beef was so much tastier!! It wasn't a hard decision, good bye Butcher Box.

Their ads are VERY misleading. I ordered an extra large box… paid $360 for it. Their website indicated I would receive 42lbs of meat. I did not. The contents of the box weighed approx 25lbs… portions are ridiculously small… way overpriced, but the real disappointment was being completely mislead, then told I had received what I should have, when asking why. I’d steer clear… check out Butcher Box, or some other meat delivery service.

UPDATE: The company has agreed to refund a portion of what I paid for this shipment. I’m happy that they are finally compensating for it. I don’t think it was worth the hassle, but do appreciate their efforts to make it right.

While the meat is good. I decided to do a little investment and have it tested for micro plastics, since it us packed in plastic!. Well the final results. All the meat is contaminated with hundreds of thousands of micro plastics.. so Im done. Last order. While it is expensive getting my meat at a local butcher, I get the cuts I want and I store it in the freezer in glass containers.. no plastic meats of foods for me. Sorry

A neighbor I was speaking with, really liked Butcher Box, but then Good Chop popped up as I was doing a search, and G.C. offered T-Bones, and Porterhouses. Which I love and Butcher Box doesn't offer. Plus $50 off my first order.
As I do in many cases. I buy the product first, and then read reviews (you would figure after 50+ years I would learn to reverse that). The reviews I found were generally negative. So of course, buyers remorse crept in but I let the order stick. I just got done with one of the porterhouses, and it was really, really good. It was tender and flavorful and I didn't even season it. Best cooked at home steak I can remember in many years. I even grilled it to medium (rare/medium rare are my faves) so I will have to adjust my temps and time.
There was a good deal of negative feedback about the meats defrosting during the shipment, but everything I got was frozen solid. The steak I just consumed defrosted in the frig in 24 hours or so. Good meat is hard to find at the grocery stores where I live, and choices for butchers is limited as well. So as long as everything else checks out. I will keep with Good Chop for a long time.

We signed up on Jan 4 to check pricing etc. they are more expensive than our local butcher. we cancelled Jan 5 and got the confirmation email saying our account is cancelled. Today (Feb13) a box showed up at our door and upon checking my credit card, saw that they billed us on a cancelled account. Called customer service and they said they can’t do a return or refund.

I picked good chop over the much better Butcher Box. Dont make the same mistake I did. Got my 1st box on 01/28/25. There were items missing (just so happened to be the more expensive items). I contacted them expecting to have the items I paid for shipped out. They claimed they could not do this and would give me a $25 credit on 07/01/25...6 months later. Canceled right away and joined butcher box

I switched from Butcher Box to Good Chop because of the customer service. I have been very happy with Good Chop, my order is always correct and delicious. I will continue to support local farmers and make healthy choices thanks to Good Chop!

I had high hopes for Good Chop when I placed my first order on November 22nd. I scheduled my box to arrive on December 4th, but instead of being delivered to my address in Kansas, it was somehow sent to New Jersey. Mistakes happen, so I contacted their customer service, and a replacement box was promised. That replacement was supposed to arrive on December 11th.

However, December 11th came and went—no box arrived. Worse yet, none of the customer service reps could provide me with a tracking number. All they could do was offer vague updates like “it’ll get to you soon,” which, of course, never happened.

After more back-and-forth, a rep claimed on December 13th that my replacement box was “out for delivery.” Again—nothing showed up. To add insult to injury, there were no email updates at any point in this process. Every time I asked for more information, the reps just told me to “check my spam folder” or repeated the same empty assurances.

This has been, without a doubt, the worst experience I’ve ever had with a food delivery service. I should have just stayed with Butcher Box—they never gave me any issues, and their customer support was actually helpful and professional.

Good Chop, if you’re going to charge premium prices, your service needs to match. Instead, you’ve wasted my time and money, and I’ve received absolutely nothing in return. I cannot recommend this company to anyone.

I’ve been comparing good chop to “butcher box” and good chop is well above standard, the only thing I’m not happy with is the ribeye, as the ribeyes are cut a bit too thin and cook. Strange they fold up, the flavor of the meat is amazing. I’ve been comparing it and really paying attention to store-bought and your competition butcher box And good chop is high above standard, i am canceling my other “trial” and keeping good chop

Ive been around the block some,and when i was growing up my parents went the butcher for all their meat products and the meats from goodchops reminds me off this good old days.

Good chop was a great decision, the products are fresh and taste better than store products and even from the butcher shop.

Everything came on time, still frozen, was easy to use and a good price..

And the selections were/are fantastic!! That has to be some of the best bacon I've ever had in my life.

So far so good with Good Chop. I enjoyed the quality of their meats. Timely delivery. I think the website needs to be cleaned up and a little easier to navigate. Some information seems difficult to find. No openings in any of the packages have been found. I used to do Butcher Box and there were openings in a number of their products.

My father was a part time butcher for A&P market in Port Huron Michigan. We ate a nice variety of meat and we find, so far, the meat from Good Chop is very good. Being older we eat lighter meals so our order goes a long way. Looking forward to some other variations

I was with butcher box and switched over to good chop. Better cuts and quality of meat plus sourced in the USA

This has been great because I don't have to leave home. The prices are the same if not better than going to my local butcher. The quality is amazing. I've sent the free offer to my parents so hopefully they join.

My first order came with a couple of the steaks unthawed however I cooked those right away and they were the best steaks I have had in a long while. Far superior to what I got from Butcher box. The cod was very good.

I've had a few shipments so far, and all the meats and fish are delicious. I have tried Butcher Box and Good Chop, and I like both, so I am keeping both. I'm pleased to say that the quality and quantity are about the same price as you'd find at local grocery stores, even a little more economical; price is better, quality is far better, and shipped to my door. What is not to love?
