Went to Royal George in Birdlip, Gloucestershire today for lunch. We looked for any lunch offers (none found) and when ordering drink’s mentioned we would be eating. Food was good quality, however... See more

Hunters chicken
Hunters chicken, was a small and thin and mean thin slice of chicken with a couple of rashes of bacon on top and bbq sauce and cheese, had to search for the chicken! Over compensated with chips and garden peas to make meal look bigger. Was disappointed, expected a chicken breast wrapped in bacon. Would avoid, overpriced for what it was. Good point, food was hot.

Paid for a meal at the golden eagle in Thornton Cleveleys in July and food service was shocking and after an hour when asked where out food order was to be told it’s over an hour wait ! Food come out cold so sent back and asked for refund ! I was told it would come back in 4 days ! After 3 weeks nothing so contacted the pub and they advised me to fill out form ! Then they told me someone from head office would be in touch after submitting all receipts! Head office then emailed and said it never left my account ! I sent a copy of my bank statement which clearly shown it had left my bank anyway after over a month finally paid it back ! £26 is a large amount to me lol

Awful attitude, went to our local after getting a blue light code to be told there is a "generic problem and we can't give you the discount do you want the meal or not!"
Only £12 but it's the principle. couldn't care less. used to come here on a regular basis NEVER AGAIN

Cocked hat gosport left some negative feedback about experience and was hounded by the landlady . Very poor experience verging on being stalked. Ceo and area manager were not interested

Worked for Dog and partridge in Bury st edmund’s.
Manager was absolutely awful and horrible to me during my whole employment.
Wasn’t allowed to drink water during my shift. My colleague was constantly being sexual harassed.
investigated however all dismissed due to the higher up boss being good friends with my manager.

We visited the Fox and Hounds at Merley…
We visited the Fox and Hounds at Wimbourne with friends today. We should have known better after the way we were treated on ordering drinks. We asked for 2 and a half pints of coke. When 2 halves were poured and we commented on our actual request the bar maid just made a sigh as if this was our fault.
We decided to order food. This could only be done at the table via the app. We wanted some sausages for the dogs. When we asked at the bar we were told they are on the menu somewhere. We checked again but could not find them.
We ordered the trio of meats roasts x2, a burger and a steak pie.
The food arrived and my husband used the salt cellar. The top was faulty and he ended up with far too much salt on the meal. The trio of roasts had no pork, the Yorkshire pudding was hard and the vegetables looked like they had been sat around for quite a while. As for the stuffing it looked dreadful.
The burger was raw in the centre and the steak pie had little to no steak and left an aftertaste in my mouth.
When we pointed out the missing pork no explanation or apology was made. On advising the burger was raw we were told it was safe to eat. The burgers are not fresh but frozen and defrosted so raw is not safe to eat.
The landlord did begrudgingly hand back £20 for the burger, well dropped the note onto the table.
There were no apologies for any of the issues.
This is definitely a place to avoid unless you enjoy poor service and equally poor food.
I would have left a no star review but this is not possible.
The Boat House Wallingford - Excellent Sunday roasts
I pre-booked our table for 4 adults, it was waiting for us when we arrived at the Boathouse. We ordered online using the app and we each selected a different main. 3 of us chose roasts, including carved turkey, lamb shank and mushroom tart and 1 chose hunters chicken. The roasts were absolutely amazing. They arrived on very large plates and which were full of the ordered main dish plus broccoli, carrots, parsnip, peas, Yorkshire pudding and excellent roast potatoes, gravy and stuffing. The hunters chicken came with chips, peas and cheeses with BBQ sauce. We all commented that these were the best Sunday roasts that we’d ever had, everything was cooked to perfection and extremely tasty. We’ll be back again soon. Thanks to Marie and team.

Tide End Cottage Teddington
Tide End Cottage Teddington - not enough staff. Ran out of certain dishes by 8pm. Drinks took 40 mins to arrive - after food. Had to use the app as the queue for food and drink was so long up that didn’t help either! They even ran out of wine glasses and I had to have my wine in a gin glass. Avoid this pub!
Zero Stars would have been too generous
Arrived at the Quantock Pub, Bridgwater at 5.35pm and placed food order immediately. Barely 25% of tables were being used so no problem sitting. From about 5.50 the place got busier. Lots of people including ones sat behind us had their meals finished by 6.05. Got to 6.10 no sign of our food. My wife enquired and the lady said she would look into it - didn't come back to us. At 6.15 my wife found and spoke with her again - will be with you soon - 6.20 it arrived no apology. The plates were not even luke warm, and my wifes order was missing the garlic bread. As by now we were running very late we decided to ignore this. I now come to my own meal - Hunters chicken. Well where shall I start - the bacon you could barely see and was tasteless. The chips were warm but anaemic looking again no taste, even the peas were tasteless. I now come to the best bit - the chicken breast - was it chicken or a very very small bird I have never seen such a small chicken breast, even smaller than a budgies I feel, I doubt if it were 3 inches long. It was chewy, luke warm and totally tasteless. I have attended numerous Greene King locations over the years, this was by a long long way the worst - never again. They were lucky we were now in a rush for a prior arrangement or we would have made such a fuss like they had never heard before and demanded our money back. Appalling location, even worse food. Avoid.
Very dangerous outside table at The…
Very dangerous outside table at The Crown, Hazlemere.
There are brackets to screw the table into the concrete base but have not been fixed. The table suddenly started to tip right up on its side and we fell onto the floor on our backs. We were soaked by our drinks as the glasses fell off the table onto the ground.
Luckily the dog we were looking after was not squashed by the table as she was underneath.
Would be more serious situation for older people.
Dreadful experience
We visited your pub/ restaurant for lunch last Saturday 14/03/2026. The service was absolutely dreadful, from the time we placed our order until the time our food arrived it was exactly an hour,I complained a couple of times, the waitress was hopeless, she had no idea what she was doing, didn’t check on us to see if the food was satisfactory, which it wasn’t, the burger I had was awful, she didn’t ask us if we wanted a dessert or coffee, she finally approached us when I saw her in the distance and had to call her over, I asked for the bill, she produced it then disappeared, I had to go looking for her to pay. A most dreadful experience, I sent a complaint by email to the head office and they haven’t even bothered to speak to me. I wouldn’t mind but the restaurant wasn’t even busy, no apologies from the on site manager or from the company. Would never go back there again and would advise anyone who’s thinking of going there to give it a wide berth.
Shakespeare’s Head
Shakespeare’s Head, Carnaby St, it’s a dump! Numerous chairs with shredded seat cushions, the fish in the fish and chips not great, rubbish batter, the fish goujon sandwich was pathetic, tiny pieces with hardly any fish in the batter, accompanying thick chips and salad was decent and fresh.
