1. I am waiting for Green Motion to contact me regarding a hit and run incident I was the victim of. My entire deposit has been withheld and, despite taken out full AXA car insurance I have heard nothing. 2. Two charges were taken from my card even though I had paid a bus lane violation fine myself. 3. I am still waiting to receive my 40 pounds fuel charge as I returned the car with a full tank. I would really appreciate a phone call to resolve these matters as soon as possible as I am currently out of pocket.

Tl;dr tried to scam us out of extra fees and then gave us a wildly inappropriate car
Hired a car with Green Motion Manchester over new year. Since I knew we'd be doing a lot of driving with three kids and had a lot of luggage, I booked a larger car so we'd all be comfortable.
Firstly the staff member told us we'd have to pay an extra £300 or so for "insurance" which was different from the CDW excess thing we pay separately for. At one point he told us he couldn't legally release the car to us unless we paid it. Eventually he agreed to waive it after we said we'd cancel the booking and go elsewhere.
Then he gave us a tiny electric car. Big fan of electric generally but we were driving long distances on this trip and we had to stop every 90 minutes to sit in a garage somewhere for 45 minutes in the freezing cold with three bored kids.
Not only that but the car was so small that the only way to fit our luggage in was to take off the parcel shelf so we had a couple of bags in the boot, parcel shelf across the kids' knees along with another bag, and a bag on the passenger in the front. Fortunately we had relatives nearby where we could offload some luggage but otherwise it would have been disastrous.
Thirdly, the car was only charged to 16% when we picked it up, so the first thing we had to do after a long journey from Geneva was sit in a petrol station in Wythenshawe to charge it before we could continue our journey.
And fourthly, the car developed a fault on day 2 with a warning message that said we should take it to a garage immediately. After a lot of faff with the RAC and speaking to GM they said it was a known fault and we should just keep driving it.
When we got back, we emailed GM with our complaints and they immediately apologised and offered us a refund of around half our hire fee. That would have scraped them back a star or two had it not taken several months, multiple emails and eventually threatening to file in the small claims court before we actually got our refund.
We rent cars fairly often when visiting the UK and this was by far the worst experience we've ever had. Avoid at all costs.

If I could leave zero stars I would. This is the worst company I have ever rented a car from in my life. I have rented cars all over the world and never had such a horrible experience. Right from the beginning they were less than helpful. But, they were the only company open to rent from at the time. They rented us a car with bad tires, no gas, and it was filthy. We had to get gas to even leave the parking lot of the airport. The car they gave us would not make it up the hill to our VRBO. So, the property manager had to take us up there in her car. When we wanted to return the car early because we had to change our flights to leave early, they were going to charge us an extra hundred dollars for returning it before our flight in the morning because they don’t even get to work until 8 AM and someone has to be present to return the car. So, we had to return it even earlier and pay for a cab back to our place. Also, they would not give us our money back for returning the car 15 days early. They made us pay for the entire time. The customer service was less than helpful and offered no resolutions for anything. We lost close to $400 from this company. And just an FYI, be prepared to plop down a very large deposit hold that takes anywhere from 2 weeks to one month to be released from your credit card.

Very very bad company stay away from the offices in Naples !!!
Me and my wife and my 5 year old payed for the car service and they did not serve us after we came 10 min late for our car due to flight delayed ! Lost our car and money and the said your to late !
Left us stranded in Naples with no car or refund !

I’m really disappointed with my experience dealing with the Help Desk staff. I contacted them about an error on the invoice, but instead of helping me, they told me to get lost and said I should sort it out with your service provider myself. I doubt I’ll ever want to hire a car from you again. You’ve caused me a lot of trouble with the paperwork.

Awful in the extreme. I paid a security deposit of £1505.00 on my credit card when I picked the car up. It took me 8 months to get it back and an awful lot of email, proof showing they owed it to me and perseverance. When I gave the car back after the 3 day rental they signed it off as all good so they did not have any reason for not giving me my money back.
I will never use them again and advise everyone else to never use them
