REVIEW OF LAWN

Dave and Lewis [ Maidstone Branch] under took their first visit of the year.It is the first time any firm has described in detail what was happening to the lawn in a very constructive pleasant manner.Also it was helpful to understand what to do and why.
Talked in a knowledgeable and honest manner about the level of support that would be help.
Good experience.

I have had numerous issues with this…

I have had numerous issues with this company. I paid by monthly direct debit for their annual Standard service. Even so there were frequent missed treatments and visits with no notification or reasons given.
I threatend to leave last year but was persuaded to give them a second chance and they would reduce a re seeding charge by 25% to cover the missed appointments.
The reseeding took place last week I was invoiced with no indication on how to pay, I phoned and was told bank details would be sent to me, at the same time I asked if I should cover the area with Horticultural Fleece as the pigeons were having a feast. The answer was I don't know ( this is the expert in lawn care ) I'll get someone to call you, 8 days later still waiting. Cancelled today via mobile message service.
The management of the Canterbury Franchise is very poor but the operatives were friendly and helpfull. experienced.

Terrible customer service.

Having used GreenThumb, Glasgow for years, I kept advising their office staff to align my treatments with my neighbours as we share a front lawn. Other people around us also use GreenThumb but our visits are invariably undertaken on different days. The admin is a shambles.

Further proof of how poor the admin is, relates to my wife contacting the online portal to say we wanted to restart the service. Her call not mine! A week later no one has contacted us. Unbelievably poor customer service, even with new business enquiries.

Surely whoever owns the franchise can’t be happy with the performance of the office team.

The field staff are excellent but let down by the office staff!

I signed up for a monthly subscription…

I signed up for a monthly subscription before checking Trustpilot reviews and also the main google reviews are not showing and thats worrying, have they been hidden? Maybe worth reading the reviews on Green Thumb first. Spoke to the owner of this franchise with a hope for reassurance and so disappointed. Be careful before proceeding.

Got an email from Gill - Customer Relations Coordinator. The response was terrible and no offer of how things could be put right or any type of reassurance. Please go on Trustpilot and read all the negative reviews. I think they have hidden there main website google reviews and the only reason would be because of soo many negative. Do the maths they are charging a fortune to pop round for no more than 15 mins at a time.

Customer Service utterly useless

We live in the New Forest and have used them over the past 3 years. They tell us, invariably at short notice, that they are sending someone to provide a treatment that we have never requested, and when we tell them we don’t want it they reschedule the same treatment! At the moment in March they are trying to provide us with an Autumn feed for our lawn when we have repeatedly asked for moss killing and a spring feed with weedkiller. I just can’t stand this incompetence any longer.

Super cheerful service

Kaleigh from Green Thumb Croydon came and treated our lawn yesterday. She is always cheerful, despite all the recent wet weather, and keeps us informed of what she has done and what she will do on her next visit. Great service, thanks Kaleigh.

Michael from Green Thumb Epsom

Michael from Green Thumb Epsom,came and did a hollow-tine aeration and treatment today. Michael was punctual and very friendly. He did a brilliant job. I would highly recommend him.
We’re very happy with his service.

Great job by Darren!

Darren came to do our Spring treatment this week. He has been to us a few times before and is always extremely friendly and does an amazingly professional job! All the staff at Green Thumb are so helpful and friendly and a real credit to the company!

Spring Ready Treatment

Rob came to do the spring ready treatment on my lawn today. As usual he is very polite and helpful. My treatment was done to the usual high standard. I've been with Green Thumb for 8 years now.

Rob - a great service

Rob arrived on time, very courteous and removed his boots going through our house. He explained the treatment details. Rob also gave me some feedback on my lawn that enables me in spring to do a small amount of work to it. Nice guy. Great service and good employee.

Great ambassador alongside Gill in office who is my guardian angel when I need to change visits etc.

Green Thumb Lincoln.

I have been using GREEN THUMB LINCOLN for several years. My wife was the gardener and wanted both our lawns to look good. She sadly passed away just over two years ago and I continued the GREEN THUMB treatment in her memory. Of my two lawns the one in the back garden is in a very good condition, but the one out the front (which everyone walking by can see) is still, after several years work being carried out on it, in a disgusting condition. The franchise manager (who I will not name) assured my wife, nearly two years before she passed away, that it was a simple fix and it would soon be as good as the back garden grass. This year, because of conditions (the weather) out of there control, two essential treatments, there words not mine, Aeration and Scarification, were not carried out. They are down to be carried out once within the twelve months season. On contacting the Lincoln office I was informed that the window for Aeration and Scarification was over and my treatment would now take place next spring. They agreed that it was last carried out November 2022. This, by my calculations, means that it will be over sixteen months between treatments. A treatment that I pay monthly for. I am, at this moment, awaiting a visit or personal phone call from the said manager. I will state here that at no time have I had any problems with any of the operatives who over the years have carried out the treatments on my lawns, they have always been friendly, courteous and professional.

Update 28/12/2023.

I over a week ago I contacted Green Thumbs head office and had a long talk to someone there. They made notes of everything that I had to say and informed that, as we were talking, they had sent a message to Lincoln asking them to contact me. They did not contact me.
Just before Christmas I cancelled my direct debit, three days later I received a letter from them advising me that my direct debit had been cancelled and if I was to go on receiving treatment I should, as a matter of urgency, set up a new payment system.

I will wait for someone to phone me.

I will not hold my breath.

Sour taste

Every appointment was rebooked, the cost went up before any improvement was seen, the front and middle lawns were in a worse condition after the last treatment, they had no solution to dogs using a lawn, and finally after we cancelled, my last chat with them was “ you will be reimbursed for any over payments” they called one time after that but I was busy and finally we got a rude e-mail today saying we actually owed £40 and they were taking us to court, we paid immediately, but it has left a sour taste. Read a gardening book and buy some weed and feed. It’s cheaper.

Terrible service from Green Thumb (Stevenage)

I had a scarification done by this company 11/9/23
large areas of the lawn has not been touched. I am very dissapointed. Even though they returned to assess their work and acknowledged that the scarification was poor.
They said they would reschedule however their manager refused and is demanding payment for their poor work and will charge again if I want them to correct their poor work.

I have been using green thumb Romsey…

I work at a Churchill retirement Lodge in Lymington and have large grounds and have been using green thumb from Romsey since February and have been extremely pleased with the results after using their services. My grass has improved significantly and looks lush and green even after the extreme heat that we had. The customer service side is also exceptional and a pleasure to speak to the office team and the team on the ground are always polite and do a great job.

No improvement after 9 months

I had been using GT MK for the last 9 months, paying £18pm. I was told that I have a difficult weed which would take longer to dispose of. After 9 months & almost £200 I have weeds all over my grass not only the difficult weed but several others, it looks worse now than it did from the start. I contacted them & I had a visit to look at the state of the lawn but 6 weeks later I heard nothing back, apparently they rang the wrong number mmmm. Anyway I chased them again & finally got a call today, only to be told I still owe them another £30 for work they had done, done what I will never know, I have seen no improvement at all. Would definitely not recommend them. I was hoping for a lovely lush weed free garden which never happened. Cancelled the so called service.
