Extremely Poor Experience with Greystone Solicitors – Overpriced and Unhelpful

My experience with Greystone Solicitors has been extremely negative and far below professional standards. From the very beginning, the impression was poor. The consultation room was a tiny, boxed space that felt intimidating and claustrophobic, with no welcoming atmosphere or proper reception area. This immediately raised concerns about the firm’s professionalism and client care.
The named partner, Zafar Iqbal, conducted the initial consultation, which was average at best. The case involved a human rights application, and while he claimed a “100% success rate” with a few cases won in court, he repeatedly stressed that the outcome depended on the Home Office caseworker—hardly reassuring and contradictory to the confidence he tried to project.
During the evidence-gathering stage, the firm provided no meaningful support. They simply listed what documents they needed and left us to do all the legwork. There was no guidance, no advice, no contacts—nothing that would ease the process. This approach caused unnecessary stress and made the experience feel like a money-making exercise rather than genuine client care.
When our initial application was refused, the lack of empathy and constructive advice was shocking. Zafar Iqbal’s attitude was dismissive and condescending. He suggested the next steps were PAP (Pre-Action Protocol) or JR (Judicial Review), quoting over £700 for PAP—an extortionate amount compared to other firms. For example, M&K Solicitors, ranked number one for immigration in Luton, quoted less than £300 for existing clients and £600 for new clients. This stark difference highlights Greystone’s unreasonable and exploitative pricing.
Ultimately, we requested our full file and moved to another solicitor. Throughout the process, Greystone Solicitors demonstrated poor professionalism, bad presentation, lack of client care, and questionable ethics. Their claim of a “100% success rate” is misleading, given their limited experience and the outcome of our case.
Recommendation: Avoid this firm at all costs. Zafar Iqbal and his team need to seriously improve their professionalism, attitude, and approach to client support. Based on my experience, I would strongly advise anyone seeking immigration or human rights legal assistance to look elsewhere.
