Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 280 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers frequently encountered issues with their orders, such as receiving incorrect substitutions or having items unavailable, leading to incomplete deliveries. People also expressed dissatisfaction with product quality, noting short use-by dates on fresh items and changes to recipes. Furthermore, customer service was often described as unhelpful and difficult to engage with, particularly when trying to resolve problems or obtain refunds. However, some customers also noted positive experiences with delivery staff. Several reviewers mentioned drivers being pleasant, polite, and helpful, even going out of their way to assist or being apologetic when issues arose. These positive interactions often contributed to a good delivery experience for those customers.

Very bad customer Service and the delivery drivers was extremely rude and unprofessional

Terrible experience with ASDA delivery. The driver refused to deliver my shopping to my door and instead told me to carry it myself from his van. This is not how a delivery service works — delivery is to the customer’s door, not outside.
I am 8 months pregnant, which made this situation even more unacceptable and unsafe. When I refused, the driver chose not to deliver my order at all.
To make matters worse, the driver made an extremely unprofessional comment, saying that his boss was “stupid” for accepting my online order. Completely inappropriate behaviour from someone representing ASDA.
Despite the delivery not being completed, ASDA then refused to refund my money. I was charged for an order I never received.
This experience shows a complete lack of professionalism, duty of care, and customer respect. I would strongly advise others to think twice before using ASDA’s delivery service.

I am requesting an immediate full refund and written confirmation that this matter is being taken seriously. If this issue is not resolved promptly, I will escalate the complaint further.
I expect a response without delay.

Thank you.

At best, Incompetent. At worst, dishonest

Longstanding Asda customer of several years...

- Placed a groceries delivery order using a gift card balance.

- Asda took the gift card balance and also took the same amount from my credit card (took the monies twice).

- I tried to raise the issue with Asda customer service, initially received a case number, then was ghosted by them.

- I then tried to resolve via Credit Card dispute. Asda countered my claim on the basis that the order was delivered (completely missing the point that the payment was taken twice).

At time of writing this review I'm still out of pocket.

I doubt I'll see my owed money but they wont get another penny out of me. I've cancelled any prebooked orders I had with them and have cancelled my 'delivery pass' subscription (am half-expecting they will still try and take payment for that and it will be the next problem they give me!).

Hopefully I never have to deal with them again

I daughter inlaw picked up a birthday…

I daughter inlaw picked up a birthday cake from asda for me to have for my partners surprise as I am disabled and could not get out, whilst she was showing a video call what cakes was there, alot of the boxs was damage but the one she picked looked ok (Jazzies celebrations cake which I must add cost (£14.98) when the cake was taken out the box for my partner party we noticed it did not look right, it was leaning to one side we had not took the plastic of yet, at the bottom of the cake it look like it had caved in, there was a crack through it and looked like it was missing chunks but just iced over.
How these cakes not checked before putting out let alone be sold at full price, when we tried to complain we were told there wasn't nothing they could do as we had opened it to use it and to complain to customer services..

Sort yourself out ASDA Stevenage

My visit to ASDA Stevenage today has been the straw that broke the camel’s back.
Prices that are charged at the checkout are commonly higher than those listed on the shelves.
Today ASDA wanted to overcharge me by £1.00 on a bag of frozen chicken breast fillets and overcharged me £3.80 on a tube of O’Keefe’s Hand cream.
The cream was on offer at £5.18 and I got the last on the empty shelf.
When quizzed about the overcharge at the customer service desk, the gentleman checked ‘the system’ and said the hand cream was charged at the correct price, he was not aware of the offer. Of course that is assuming he knew of every offer in the store. He did not offer to check the shelf advertised price or ask anyone else to do so.
Also at the back end of last year, on 5 consecutive weeks, I was overcharged on Young’s frozen battered cod fillets. Being labeled £4.18 and overcharged at £6.98.
Keeping all this in mind, how much overcharging went unnoticed.
Multiply all of ASDA’s overcharges and yes, they can afford Roll Backs.
Watch what you are paying at ASDA people.

I had a deeply distressing experience…

I had a deeply distressing experience at Marina Village ASDA store. Staff acted in an aggressive and disproportionate manner. I was shouted at by staff, despite no other customers being treated in this way, and was then forcibly removed from the premises, publicly humiliated, and had my personal property damaged.

I believe I was treated less favourably than other customers and unlawfully targeted on the basis of a protected characteristic. This experience was degrading and unacceptable. I am now pursuing the matter through formal and legal channels.

INVISIBLE 🫥

I cannot remember the exact date. But I do know that I reported this complaint before our holiday at the beginning of October. I have sent at least 6 emails, and still I have had no reply. It was about 2 bottles of red wine. I mentioned how watery they both were. Asda seem to have lost their touch where customer service is concerned! We spend a lot of monies with them, and yet they do not value your service!

Expiry dated food

They are absolutely ridiculous and have zero shame. I CONSTANTLY get delivered food to me that's expired 3 days later or the next day. I am never off the phone to their customer support who each time promises me it wont happen again and its going to stop because its being escalated to their specialist team. This has been going on for over a year and a half. Its every shop i get between 10 to 20 items has to be used within a day or 2. Mainly the meats for dinners thats supposed to do my family 7 to 10 days. Dont order food from these clowns online to be delivered. My last few shops of around £250 a time this last month same old story. I order a delivery on the 19th of this month to do me to the end of December. Most of the foods need used by the 25th, 80% of the food needs ate by the 23rd of this month and the rest is dated to the 25th. I've now took my money elsewhere. Dont bother with complaints to customer support they are absolutely useless and most of them just about speaks English

Terrible Asda website

Terrible Asda website, cannot check out an online shop, this is the third time this has happened on recent online shops. A message to management your website is letting you down and you need to fix the issue asap as you will be losing another customer!

Terrible service

Terrible service. Never use Asda online groceries! They take your money tell you that products are in stock. You arrive and they nonchalantly say they’re out of stock. Promise you a refund ! Refund never arrives. You then have to call a foreign call centre 9 times to get a refund. Refund still never happens. More phone calls and hassle just to not be charged for what they told you was in stock but never was !! Complete shambles! Never going to shop at Asda again ! Used to be a great store but hopeless now !
