THESE PEOPLE DON’T PAY

THESE PEOPLE DON’T PAY
I received a call from these people; they asked for a quotation to install security lights in some property along Hessle High Road. So I attended, the security guard said he would like to see a 360 radius at night as the only light he had was a torch, and the area had already been targeted by vandals. I explained that GSC had said they only wanted a basic setup so it was unlikely to happen, but I did inform GSC that the guard only had a flash light for patrols in the night.
I then sent a quotation to them, it consisted of installing a series of cable, lights and mounting points, switch and two spot lights. They said to complete the work.
After doing this they disputed my invoice stating it was too expensive and that I should reduce the amount. Then came the threats, they would not pay and sent me away with a fly in my ear, saying I was not qualified to complete the work. I very rarely have this sort of problems but when they happen, I write them off as they can get you down, and its not worth the hassle
By the way I did reduce my invoice but they still refuse to pay,
Over a year later these people came back to me today and the cheeky g*** wanted me to do some further work for them.
Now the market is getting flooding with these people, they hire people like me then dispute the costings but charge their clients full pop, so the only people that are left out are the guys that do the work.
I passed the site where I installed the lights and they are still being used….

Good morning Vic,

We apologise for the issues with the payment in the job you are referring to, as discussed privately throughout the matter. On this occasion we provided our client three options for work to remedy the issue the guards were having. They elected for the cheapest option which was communicated to you, and also acknowledged by you.

Despite this you elected to proceed with the most expensive option and subsequently invoice for that value. This was not what we instructed you to do, nor what the client requested. Therefore, we said we would only be paying the invoice up to the value of what we had approved with both the client and yourself.

In addition to this we advised the issue could be returned to and completed as initially instructed. I am not going to go into detail as to what you next comments were in regards to this but following comments we were not comfortable with you returning to our client’s site so we paid the value instructed original as a partial payment of your invoice.

As discussed last week, we apologise you were contacted in regards to future works. There was an issue fully removing you from our system as we agreed following said incident which has since been rectified.

We don’t appreciate this mistake causing you to diminish the integrity of our business who always ensure we pay our valued contractors as soon as possible.

We wish you the best for your future.
