On benefit? Get ready for discrimination.

Do not use! Guardian letting & sales in Glasgow discriminate you if you’re on benefit.
If you find a property you’re interested in, you’ll get a very quick response email asking various questions, including “are you on benefits”, if you say yes, they’ll refuse to reply to you as of then.
I’ve said for years that’s landlords and estate agents DO discriminate people on benefit and this is proof (it’s actually the second estate agent this week that’s done this to me)
They know it’s illegal, they don’t have the balls to put it in writing because then you could take legal action, so their way of doing it is being sneaky, simply not replying to avoid you getting the property, they’d no doubt claim the property was gone anyway even when it’s not.

I really despise people born with a silver spoon up their butt, thinking just because someone is on benefit, they are better than you, and clearly they think people on benefit where born yesterday, to them we are not meant to be intelligent enough to read between the lines. They have no regard or thought to your circumstances they simply label you and ignore you. There’s a housing crisis all over the uk and you can completely understand that when you see estate agents, landlords etc treating genuine people like this. There’s no professionalism or customer service anymore in this world.
I do have some tips to cover you, if you’re on benefit and want a private let, the listings will have a contact section to either phone or email, contact them by phone BUT have the call on speaker and have a governing body with you as a witness to call, that’ll show on record you contacted them, and if you mention “benefits”, you can always tell by the tone of voice of the person on the phone, if you’ll be treated fairly or not. You can also use a second device to record the call. They say honesty is the best policy, yet honest and genuine people get treated like this by so called “professionals” for it?

I’ve made sure a copy of this review has been sent to them and no doubt they’ll reply taking snippets out of their “cover my backside” book of excuses, banging on about “policy” this and “we do not” that - but I have the proof sitting in my inbox, and I’d happily upload the screenshots if there was a way to do so.

Do not use Guardian letting & sales in Glasgow.

Experienced tenant with Guardian lettings

I did not know there was this TrustPilot page for Guardian Lettings.
I have used this lettings agency 3 times over 10 years. Never had a problem. The team has always reacted within 48 hours on all repairs. Friendly staff always willing to help in my experience. Surprised to read those negative reviews... they read as if the reviews are about different people. Next time I need a flat to rent, I will be happy to approach Guardian Lettings for another positive experience.

Shocking lettings agency. AVOID!!!

Shocking lettings agency.
Tried to view a property for rent in glasgow over a 3 week period and they didn't return any calls, the 2 persons dealing with the enquiry Billy and Shimmy are arrogant and obnoxious individuals who are good at telling lies, not returning calls or emails. Watched this property drop in asking price and each phone call was met with a new story about how they're on the phone, out of the office, assessing a property etc.
Their noses must be bigger than Pinnochios.
AVOID THIS UNPROFESSIONAL AND DECEITFUL AGENCY.

Awful service

Awful service! I was emailing with someone named ‘K’ for a week to arrange a viewing which was cancelled by them at the last minute because she ‘thought it was a different day today’ wow. I then called because I was fed up of back and forth emails and wanted to arrange a viewing as I had already taken time off work which is very difficult for me to get.

When I called and asked to speak to K, the reply was who? WHO? Once I spoke to her she interrupted everything I said and wouldn’t admit fault. Very very unprofessional people and should probably thinking about a different career path, something without customer service involved. I asked to make a complaint and haven’t even had a reply so here you go - So annoyed by the whole thing!

Unreliable agents

I had some unpleasant experience with them not long ago. Me and my wife are owners of a flat which is below property managed by them. Just before Christmas of 2017 their tradesman was doing some kind of works which resulted in explosion of water pipe and heavy leakage to our flat below. I emailed and called them next day after the incident. They said that a decorator would visit us after New Year and rectify the damage caused by them. However, when "decorator" arrived, he said, he was only going to repaint parts of ceiling and do not repair all the damage which also included walls and other parts of ceiling. I immediately called Guardian Lets again. This time, they said, that they were doing a "favour" for us even by this and were not going to do anything else. They also started disputing their fault, though, in my opinion, it was obvious.

Even leaving running water in your bathroom is considered as negligence if damage is caused to another property. Therefore, improper careless actions of professional plumber is out of question. Unfortunatelly, they have their own definition of negligence. I think, this incident shows low business ethics standards of Guardian Lets agency.
