I came into the Academy as a huge sceptic. I had been all over the place with different guitar courses, you tube, Facebook videos, and much more. I had been everywhere to simply get nowhere playing the same things over and over again in a very unorganized manner. After almost 20 years nothing clicked for me. Not that I couldn't get my fingers moving and actually play something because I could. But I could only do so outside of actual musical context. My goal coming into the academy was to understand and be more creative within the context of music. And with the help of the instructors and the students here at the academy, In a few short months I went from playing whatever with no direction to playing along with backing tracks in the keys I was working on. Everything for me became more organized and I broke out of the rut I was in and my playing became more musical than I could have imagined. The academy is an awesome place filled with great people, instructors and students alike that support each other regardless of what genre of music you play. For any guitar player seeking to better their skills and understanding on the guitar, TAKE THE CHANCE, I PROMISE YOU WON'T REGRET IT. I'm happy to have taken the chance and I am completely satisfied with the results. I have been turned from sceptic to believer that it works.

To put it in the best words i can, i have payed for and tried a few online courses, however this is the only system that puts you online with a real live instructor! They have so many training aids and practice lessons available to choose from. The Instructors are top notch and are ready to help you find your way around the Guitar! They have live online classes that you can join in on. Just the best Online Guitar course i have found. i give Steve and his system of Learning and A+! you wont be sorry you joined!! Thanks Guys!!

My instructor, Luca, is incredible. He is patient very knowledgeable and helps me understand challenging areas like modes and other theory-related topics. His weekly assignments have helped keep me on track and growing my playing skills. The Classroom section of the website has tons of material so there's always something to learn and to work on. I would highly recommend Guitar Zoom Academy to anyone who wants to take their playing to the next level.

I have had a subscription to guitarzoom for the past year. The video quality is fantastic and Steve is an incredible teacher and guitarist. He is passionate about what he is teaching which is a massive plus for me. The subscription content leaves no stone unturned. there are courses for everything and they all have pdf material to accompany the course. There is a lot of work here producing these courses. I would say that this the closest to one to one instruction with a teacher. For me this is better as you can stop and start slow it down etc which you cannot do with a teacher. Just because somebody can play a guitar does mean they can teach it. With Steve you have both. If you want to learn guitar or improve what you already know, look no further you will not be disappointed.

Guitar Zoom Academy is all about the students and helping them (us) along our guitar journey. The instructors are top notch and offer expertise in all aspects of studying and learning of guitar.

It fits every level of player, from beginner to advanced, there is something you can learn at the Academy.

Once admitted to the Academy, you'll meet with an instructor who will discuss what you want to get out of your personal journey. A Success Path will be developed and it will be discussed with you on Day One. This Success Path is a "living" document and can be adjusted as needed to ensure that you get the best experience possible as you develop all the skills necessary to become a "real" player.

This is not a one-way street. The instructors will guide you as much as you will let them. However, always remember, the more you put into doing the work, the more you will get out.

They provide each student with a Practice Log that you should fill out as often as you can. Many students take the 5 minutes, or so, to type in what classes or Open Rooms they attended, any classes in the HUGE video library along with any struggles or questions they may have. It is IMPORTANT to fill in the Practice Log as close to every day as you can. This will provide all the instructors with an overview of what you're doing and where you need help.

Though you will be assigned your Personal Studio Instructor, all the instructors are there to help you. There are classes and/or Open Rooms 2-3 times per day, every day except Sunday.

Interacting with the other students is a fun way to get to know them and talk to them about what you're working on. I've found there is great comradery amongst the students and instructors and everyone has been welcoming to me. You will meet students and instructors from around the world. What a great environment.

Instead of searching YouTube or old guitar books, at the Academy, you get it first hand. Everyone supports each other. We lift each other up and it helps each of us with the confidence to play in front of people, though no one is forced to do it. I think it's great. Trust me, everyone will support you!

I could go on and on but, instead of just hearing from me, give Guitar Zoom Academy a try. I think you'll find that, whether you want to play ballads or shred, it's THE place to be!!!

I'm inspired by Guitar Zoom Academy. I've made significant progress over the past eleven months. A lot of organizations and businesses often talk about being a "community," or worse: a "family." I've been a kibbutznik most of my adult life, and I know something about community. Most of the time, declarations like that are largely BS. But not where GZA is concerned. It's a real (even if virtual) community for those who choose to participate and contribute, mostly thanks to the outstanding personal example set by the staff and instructors. I've never experienced anything quite like it. I hope GZA never loses that; it's one of its greatest strengths.

Everyone at Guitar Zoom academy has been great! Manuel is so knowledgeable and supportive with anything I need or want to learn. The community is very warm and welcoming. I’ve found my people!

I've been playing guitar for years and never took time to really understand music and it's application to guitar. Now that I'm retired I wanted to focus on getting educated on music structure the language and how to apply it to my playing. I have a stack of music books and scale books and gig bag references but nothing really clicked for me until Guitar Zoom Academy. I think the instructors are amazing musicians with extensive training and understanding of what they are teaching that has opened those doors for me.
I didn't know what I needed from the academy but the instruction plan I was given from my instructor Manuel has kept me on track and helped identify what I needed from the start. I really feel the academy is way beyond other sources for guitar musicians because they really want you to be as good as you can be by using their environment and application of structure and support. Thank you, to all at GZA and I'm completely satisfied with my musical journey with Guitar Zoom Academy.

I signed up in Sept 2024. After about eight or nine months I decided that this wasn’t for me. I had planned to cancel before my renewal date.

I received an email that my membership was scheduled to renew in the next 10 days. So I reached out to Guitar Zooms support team and they got back to me stating my membership will not be renewed and that my membership was cancelled.

Just to be safe, I reached out again…before my renewal date…to reconfirm that my membership would not renew and I would not be charged.

I received another email stating that my membership would not be charged and they even sent me a screen shot showing that I was cancelled.

Well, sure enough…I was charged. I am very disappointed with Guitar Zooms and the way they handled this situation and I should have known better and heeded all the reviews I read prior to signing up.

The Academy has been a blessing for me in the sense of helping me with my journey to become a better guitar player. The content and all the instructors are top notch, and along with the other students are so very supportive. I really don't believe I could have progressed any faster without joining. I really do enjoy the positive vibes and the togetherness of the whole experience.

Miguel is a trusted guitar teacher because he has the required knowledge to give the foundation of music theory, but more importantly Miguel explains the concepts in a customized manner for each students level of knowledge and skill. Miguel is patient teacher and uses superior listening skills. Miguel is a very proficient guitar musician and always shares interesting techniques, tricks and tips on how to play in a more effective and efficient manner. Miguel’s communication and collaboration style is the best for students looking to improve and understand the guitar on a deeper level. I highly recommend Miguel as the best guitar learning partner.

Steve and the other instructors are great from my limited interaction so far. I am looking at the Guitar Academy and both Steve and Liam have been great at helping me know what my journey might look like. Discussions with passion and with a real desire to help me along that journey as I decide the next phase of my guitar playing. They take the time to understand and use language that resonates.

The Guitar Zoom academy has been the best experience I've had with taking guitar lessons. Steve's videos are excellent, and paired with a knowledgeable teacher like Viktor it's a cool combination. I can learn at my own pace and always have access to multiple instructors every week. Everyone in the community has been friendly and positive. Like anything, you get out what you put in, and if you're willing to put in the time, it's well worth the investment.

I think the Academy is awesome. I have learned a lot. The system is well thought out and all the resources are there to address all aspects of guitar and theory. The instructors are fantastic. Very knowledgeable, approachable and helpful.
I wish I had a more open schedule to profit from all that the Academic have to offer. Still, I do believe I have learned more over the last 5 months than the previous 30 years of playing the guitar.

I have been taking lessons with Guitar Zoom for 6 months and learned more than I learned in 2 years of private lessons. Not only do they have great instructors but there are Tons of video classroom lessons to reinforce your learning. Someone is always available online to answer your questions and help you with problems.

Excellent instructors and didactic material

I canceled my account in 2024 and they still charged me, completely refusing a refund. Now, 1 year later, they are trying to charge my account again. He might be a good teacher but his business model takes advantage of people just trying to learn guitar.
