They stink

They stink. Not for people that are serious about their gardening they source out to India for phone calls who know nothing about the farming or planting in the USA if you try to do an online chat it’s with a computer and no one answers the customer service in the USA after being cut off twice by people in India, the third person kindly connected me to the US and I waited for over a half an hour on the phone to ask my Fairly simple question About planting times for one of their products. 🤨

I ordered strawberry plants

I ordered strawberry plants. Not one grew. I followed the instructions to the T. Terrible customer service. I wanted to leave a review, so other customers might consider my experience before they ordered them. The website will not let you review the product. I feel this is a very bad business practice, and very deceiving.

The delivery came right on time

The delivery came right on time. My roses came bare root and did so good. They had the best selection. Prices were affordable, HALF PURPLE TIGER FLORIBUNDA ROSE are so beautiful, and so are the HALF FRAGRANT CLOUD HYBRID TEA ROSE. Would definitely order from them again.

They deserve a zero star

They deserve a zero star. You'll buy something from there and it'll be on backorder forever. Their programs can tell you it's not in stock but they lie to their customers so they can get your money.
To all my fellow veterans and first responders never buy from the scam business....NEVER!

I ordered seeds nearly 2 mos

I ordered seeds nearly 2 mos. ago and they keep moving the date back, it is too late to plant them this season by the time I receive them if I receive them. I tried to get a refund but they refused to refund my money stating they are processing my order, I call BS. First and last time I deal with them the overseas person answering for Gurnee's could give two bleeps that I was a dis-satisfied customer.

They sent me a dead plant and kept my money. They offer a gift certificate in case you want another dead plant that takes 3 weeks to ship. They are nothing short of a scam. Shop anywhere else a s you will get a better product. These guys are horrible.

Terrible company

Terrible company, very quick to take you money then just lie and delay shipment until growing season is half over... IF you ever get what you ordered. Total joke, they 'held' a $450 order because they didn't have $3.99 packet of Lavendar seeds...totally lacking in rudimentary intelligence. Never again, pass them by folks, they deserve to fail.

whopper strawberries shipped wrong Qty

ordered whopper strawberries in oct per flyer 35 for 39.95 couldn't do online with flyer offer so called rep told me what to put in for offer received order today 9 plants called the were willing to resend order of 10 still not right (+$10 credit next order) Not right but they tried I also got coupon code do ended up getting 35 more for $26.32 w/$10 credit--nopr 100% whole but they tried --also fruit trees costing 50 ea diameter of pencil stark just as bad trees are tiny compared to 5 years ago will take 5 yr to bear :(--wish better selection avail locally

Terrible Company

Dire. I placed orders with three vendors the same day. All the others delivered - Gurney’s website said the item, a Carmine Jewel Cherry Bush was in stock … 10 days later I contacted them, ‘where is it? Why hasn’t it shipped?’

Promised to rush the order, ship that day…

Not shipped…

Contacted again - will ship in 24-48 hours… next day, ship date has been put back 4 more days 16 days - a huge window.

Untrustworthy, incompetent - there are much better companies to do business with, Ty Ty nurseries, Stark Brothers…

Don't waste your time!

I worked on an order and finally got a cart together (after much research). I placed the order and got an error message, so I called customer support. The customer support person was rude and told me I didn't have an order, and told me to try again. I did, with same result. That led me to outside reviews. I don't have trust in them now.

I would give NEGATIVE stars if I could!!
I ordered 25 green pepper plants, which is not cheap! When I messaged them because the delivery status was still pending after being in transit or days with no water or nutrients. They said there was nothing they can do but to message them with they arrived. About a week or so later they finally arrived. Now keep in mind we are in Vermont so our gardening season is very limited to begin with. These plants were shipped at the end of May and I didn't receive them until the second week of July. When they did arrive they were about 2 inches high and dead because of lack of water and sun. Their customer service sucks!! They never wanted to help nor were they apologetic. When I asked about getting our money back because I NEVER want to purchse from them again they automatically give us a credit where I am forced to go back. OH!!! and not only was our plants dead half were banana peppers that should have been green peppers. I will go be going to Bonnie Plants as they have way better customer service and are willing to help. GURNEYS IS HORRIBLE!!!

Junk seed

Junk seed! Don’t waste your time or money purchasing anything from this ripoff company! Ruined my garden two years in a row!!! They sell old moldy seed that is worthless!!! First year ordering seed corn from them not even half the corn planted came up! This year I thought I would try the new gotta have it sweet corn and well only one third of the seed germinated! Do not order anything from this rip off company!!!

Sickly Asparagus bare roots

This is a follow up to my disappointment noted last year with the order of Asparagus from Gurney's. They were sickly, skinny and nothing near the other company's Bare Roots. One year later, remember you have to wait for the third year to harvest the Gurney plants are still sickly with only one or two very thin and not tall plants. Should have waited the two weeks for another order from their competitor. One Year Wasted.

POOR quality, prices, and customer service

We have been very unhappy with almost everything we have ordered from Gurneys. While the quality lacked overall, the peach tree was dead. They did not have in stock, so we ordered another raspberry and two blueberries to replace it, and had to pay shipping for it because it was not the exact thing that they did not have in stock and will not for another year! None of them look great, but the raspberry in particular is a pathetic 6 inch dead looking stick. We gave up and bought another one at the local nursery for less money, and it is a beautiful healthy bush. In the meantime we bought another peach tree (same one we had ordered from Gurneys and they didn't have) for $20 less than Gurneys. It is 4 feet tall with peaches on it! What you they have is not a business, it is a racket! I would have been better off taking my $300 paid to them and burned it. That way I would be out the money, but would have only had to plant things once and be ahead of the game with better and more mature plants, and not as much time wasted.

While I paid for product in February

While I paid for product in February, thinking I paid everything, received final product in May. All of the sudden end of May, I get a bill same past due for more cost. This is craziest thing I have dealt with in online purchases. Paid your dumb bill, sent US Mail. Good luck, never doing business with your companies again.

Ordered Mandarin azaleas (7) on May…

Ordered Mandarin azaleas (7) on May 7th. Original delivery date was 5/15-5/29...and I was ok with that. But every day the dates get pushed back. I called and they would "rush" it. Really!? Checked this morning and my delivery date was pushed back again 5/31-6/24! I have wasted 3 weeks waiting for this poorly run mickey mouse nursery to get their act together. Cancelled my order and will look elsewhere. I suggest you do the same...LOOK ELSEWHERE!!!!
