Beware—they do NOT give return address for return! They make it so difficult—what an incredibly frustrating experience JUST trying to get return address….they definitely play games and try to not give your money back ; their return policy is bogus!!!! DO NOT ORDER.

It is very expensive for what it is. I still have to wash my hair every day and hence i would use a 40 pound pack in less than a month. The hair state is more or less the same, gets just as greasy if not more. Def not buying it again.

I think this shampoo is not for everyone. BeforeI ordered online I read a ton of reviews because I do not want to waste money because it is very expensive. I have a thin fine hair. I tried Hairstory Original even though it is very expensive hoping to have a little volume to my hair. f
First wash, I lost too much hair it scared me. When my hair dried up, it was so oily, its like putting a vaseline on my hair. I thought it was just the “transition stage” but on my third week, it was still the same. I stopped using it and I am back to my old shampoo. I miss the feeling of having a clean hair.

BEWARE! Hairstory took my money 23 days ago, the products never arrived, and they refuse to give me my money back – even though the refund policy on Hairstory's website says, “If you are not entirely satisfied with your purchase, we’re here to help. The first purchase of a given product can be returned within 60 days of the purchase for a refund or an exchange …”

When their shampoo failed to arrive, I tried contacting them multiple times. Eventually, I had to buy a replacement product, and now I no longer need Hairstory's shampoo. I just want my money back for a product I never received, and this company is refusing to do so. They are refusing to honor their refund policy.

Horrifically expensive, though ok product. The 8 oz. at $44 is pretty much a sample size, you might get 6-8 washes out of it unless you have chin length or shorter hair. $98 for the 20 oz is insanely expensive which lasted me roughly as long as a regular bottle of shampoo.
Also, know that you need to use a good amount of this product for long hair. “Golf ball” size as one IG hairdresser influencer recommends. It goes really fast.

That said, I really like the “Balm” and “Powder” which both, while still pricey, last a long while. Forget the shampoo, it smells nice but it’s all hype. I get the same results from my higher end grocery store shampoo. I’m getting tired of every other hairdresser on IG shilling Hairstory. By the pricing alone, it’s obnoxiously elitist. I can use Curlsmith for the same results at 1/4th the price.

Lastly, their customer service is the pits. Totally rude interaction when attempting to return a product.

I have been using New Wash for three weeks (in the FAQ it advises that it can take up to three weeks for hair to “transition”). My hair is fine and I was having dandruff problems so decided to buy into the idea of washing less often and giving up shampoo. I can honestly say my hair has never been so greasy and lank. I have followed instructions to the letter, rinsed, massaged etc and by the end of the day my hair is so greasy that the fringe looks like I’ve combed oil through it. I have tried to persist because I’m recovering from an op and haven’t been out of the house much (which is why I thought I’d try the product out) but honestly I now have to wash it every single day in order for it to look normal during working hours. Very disappointed with myself for falling for the marketing. As an aside, the packaging is awkward to handle in the shower and I’ve noticed that the product leaks out of the top (I’m not talking about the lid but the actual sachet). Save your money!!

Really like the product - let me throw out other styling products (I bought the New Wash and the Dress Up product for heat protection/styling). It is extremely expensive and I have found the customer service HORRIFIC. I had a shipping issue and at some point they stopped responding. If they got their customer service sorted I might purchase from them again.

Please don’t ever sign up for their subscription. They don’t let you cancel it easily. I made that mistake and want to warn all the others not to do it! I tired to cancel it but if you had an account set up before 4th April 2023 you can’t access it! I even wrote to them!!

Made my hair fall out. Never had so much alarming damage from a product. Binned.

Didn't work how it was supposed to. Left my hair tangled and greasy.. And somehow also left it stripped dry. Took a good 8 months to recover. Do not bother. It's all hype.

Have tried really hard to get this product to do as promised and after 2-mths trial my fine coloured hair is in worse condition than when I was using WO (Water only). Didn't mind the price if got what was promised but hair is greasy and limp immediately after washing.
Won't be buying again.

If you are looking for a natural shampoo which does not lather up or irritate your scalp, the Hairstory New Wash is excellent for bleached course curly hair. Hugely expensive at $ 147.00 for 20 fl oz plus shipping $ 10.00 extra : ( which is too expensive. Packaging is hopeless in the shower and carefull to note 1 x purchase only !

I used hairstory products prior to the covid fallout. Then they went completely woke and that was against my personal opinions and beliefs, so stopped supporting them. Their products were good but very, very expensive. It helped my hair but there are so many similar, cheaper products out there with exactly the same ingredients, that work just as well on my hair, if not better. Please don't support this woke company ! If businesses can't stand with conviction and truth, they don't deserve our money !

Great product, non-existent customer service. I have been a subscription customer for two years and suddenly my account has been charged, but order is stuck in limbo and there is no response to emails and phone messages.

Buyer beware.

I would not advise anybody to make a subscription to hairstory. It is hugely expensive and whilst the product is lovely the business is a rip off. They send you orders continuously that you haven’t ordered!! And charge you randomly for things you have never ordered. 1 word for it FRAUDULENT .

After seeing Caroline Stahl and The Hair Bros talk about Hairstory in her Tiktoks I was intrigued to try.

I placed the order on a Sunday and it arrived the following day! Delivery speeds not seen outside of Amazon!

MY HAIR:
I have fine thick straight hair that gets oily at the roots and dry/damaged at the ends. I usually was my hair once/twice a week.

NEW WASH ORIGINAL REVIEW:

VALUE FOR MONEY: The bottle is a lot smaller than I thought - I got a big discount by using Caroline's code in the checkout which helps. but I do find it's very expensive for what you get. I know they say it replaced shampoo AND conditioner but I'd use up a whole bottle in a month if I used it as both.

HOW IT WORKED: I've used many a co-wash before and love them. This does feel different, it's hard to explain - it feel a bit more shampooy and can leave a testure behind if you don't rinse very very well.

I found my hair felt AMAZING after the first wash. I was sure to rinse, rinse and RINSE but using a brush as I believe the issues everyone has below is due to not:
1. Washing and repeating to remove dirt
2. Using a scalp brush as I think this really helps clean the scalp and remove product build up
3. Rinsing enough

I find I need to use another conditioner on my ends to make sure my hair doesn't go poofy/use up all the product too quickly.

I like this product but the cost for size along with the anxiety of making sure I rinse it all out doesn't make the cost worth it for me. I would say the As I Am co-wash is far better value for money and easier to use. BUT I may re-buy it again if there are any more discounts.

UNDRESSED:
Nice salt spray (without the salt). But it's not worth the price for me at all.

HAIR BALM:
Nice balm but didn't really wow me - again not worth the price for me.

Although, Customer Service have sent me some instructions on how to get the most of out Hair Balm and Undressed which I'd recommend contacting them to get this info as I can't paste it below.

CUSTOMER SERVICE:
Outstanding! Like I said above, my order arrived in less and 24 hours! And when I contacted customer service regarding their returns policy, they sorted out my issue so quickly. I was expecting some push back but they were so helpful - thank you Lou!

Overall I'm impressed with Hairstory and will consider repurchasing New wash or their dry shampoo if I can get another referral discount.

OTHER NOTES:
The products packaging is a little underwhelming for the price point. The New Wash is in great squeezy packaging which I think is a great idea, but Undressed and Hair Balm's packaging felt quite basic.

I read that it helps eliminate oiler hair and scalp! Not for my hair! Greasier, too much oil in product, my hairdresser told me to stop this product! Left in residue, I could not rinse out no matter how I tried! My hair looked worse!

I actually loved how this product worked at first, for a few months…I’m a daily washer because I work in the hospital. I started losing hair in the shower at an alarming rate a couple months into use…like in solid chunks. I did not think it was possibly the product, as I had been using it for a bit. I tried regular shampoo and conditioner this last week to test my hair loss because I literally thought I was going to start balding, and after two days of regular product use…no hair loss beyond a normal amount. Super scary to me how much hair I have lost over the past couple of months, and would have continued to lose had I not figured out that the Hairstory product is what caused me to lose a huge amount of my hair. Tread lightly and pay close attention to amount of hair you are losing, I have read multiple reviews about huge amounts of hair loss, since doing some research on Hairstory. Also super misleading on their Q&A page, where they mention if hair loss occurs, it isn’t the product…it’s most likely stress or other issues causing it. Maybe in some cases, but not this case.

I wanted to love Hairstory New Wash and I'm happy for all the people who are pleased with it. And I know you're supposed to give it 8 weeks to work but after 7 weeks of my color being muted and dark in a bad way and my hair looking greasy RIGHT AFTER washing, and all of these things getting worse the whole time, I was relieved to toss away the rest of the product. The instructions are to rinse well. "Like really well." But I worked so hard on rinsing this crap out, someone should have paid ME. So no thank you to this noise forever. Upon throwing Hairstory New Wash in the trash, I started using Redken and my hair looks approximately 50 times more vibrant, full of body and natural shine than it did for those sad 7 weeks. I will concede that not using shampoo for that period of time may have helped the condition of my hair but I sure hated sporting flat, slimy hair all over my head directly following a wash (and using tons of dry shampoo to make my hair look close to presentable, which can't be healthy for it).

I have been using different personalised hair products for 2 years now and I do really enjoy most.

I researched Hairstorey and was really excited to try it.

I was unhappy about the price but I was willing to pay if it did as reviewed.

I have fine mid bob length colour rested hair. I normally wash my hair every 2-3 days and don't use many products other than heat defence and dry shampoo on day 2.

My hair can get slight greasy at the roots and slightly dry at the ends but it's manageable.

When the product arrived I was really excited and it was my usual hair wash day.

In the shower I noticed a positive difference, my hair felt super smooth and silky and I was impressed.

However when I dried my hair it started to go down hill.

My hair was heavy, felt sticky and no longer smooth.

It was not shiney and didn't feel clean.

The next day I woke up (normally I wake with clean soft bouncy hair) my partner said to me.. what is wrong with your hair!

I looked and it was like I coated my hair in oil!

It smelt unclean and felt like I'd run a marathon (it was not a hot night).

I was horrified as I had no time to rewash and was due at work. I tried my hardest to hide it with dry shampoo and an up-do.. but it looked and felt horrendous.

This effected my confidence all day as I was so self conscious!

That evening I washed my hair and my normal vibe was back.

I am really annoyed that I paid a fortune and had this horrible experience.

The next day I threw the product away and felt really upset as it was so wasteful and a useless product.

You couldn't pay me to use this again or recommend it to anyone!
