Best software for all scanners I'm using it for many years. I use it with my Nikon Coolscan V, my old Espson 2400 and my new Epson V600. I'm using it also with my printer Brother. So many possib... See more

I have been using this software for…
I have been using this software for many years. It just works! Does exactly what it is suppose to do. No fuss!
Using Vuescan scanning from a printer is convenient.
Using Vuescan scanning from a printer scaner to a file or to a paper sheet is convenient. To easily twist and change the scaned picture can save a lot of work.
Great software for EOL hardward
Great software. Used this for a while and worth paying for. When hardware companies try to end of life scanner support, having alternatives is good. I have a Fujitsu scanner c.2004 vintage. It still works mechanically. I will have to credit Fujitsu that they have supported it this long, but their newest software doesn't support it, and it's also bloatware.
VueScan is amazing to keep this bit of kit working, and also works for others scanners. For me it allows to use duplexing features, and it has seamless OCR built into it. I now have double sided, text-searchable, relatively small size PDFs (the old Fujitsu software created large PDF sizes for some reason). This allows me to have a good document archive.
I probably am not using the software to its full potential, and if you see the Vuescan website you can see it works for film scans, and loads of other out of support scanners. Would recommend.
Simply the BEST scanning assistance…
Simply the BEST scanning assistance program out there! I have been using it regularly for decades and the updates keep it on top of all of my scanning needs.
VueScan is second to none!
We've been using VueScan for almost 20 years. They focus on solid development and incremental improvements. They don't release updates just for the sake of an update, every release is solid.
I can't remember VueScan crashing or failing in the last 20 years - EVER!
Best Scanner Software I have ever…
Best Scanner Software I have ever tried. After many years and multiple printers and scanners I still go back to Vuescan. Simple when it can be and complex when necessary. A tip of the hat for being freeware. I contribute a couple of time each year as a thank you and to support the product. I really appreciate that Hamrick do what they do and do it well.
VueScan worked better
VueScan worked better than the software that came from the manufacurerwith my scanner. More versatile, easy to use.
I have been using VueScan for a long…
I have been using VueScan for a long time. I'm an architect and professor who uses images in my work. VueScan gives me great control, yet is not difficult to use. Very inuitive. And several times the Hamricks have helped me get the most from the app. Five strong stars.

Supports my ScanSnap S510M on MacOS beautifully.
ScanSnap user for over 10 years, great example of a company doing one thing well (even if it's for a gazillion makes / types of scanner)
Without VueScan my Scanner would be…
Without VueScan my Scanner would be trash.
Recently VueScan freezes.
Recently, when I try to scan, VueScan freezes and I have to run vuea64-9.8.52.dmg again to be able to scan. (I use a Canon TR4755i and a Tahoe 26.3.1).
Otherwise, I've been using VueScan for over six years and I'm very happy with it. Thanks!
My scanner will live forever!
I have used this software for "forever" with my iMac and it just works! Frequent updates keep my old scanner alive. The interface makes sense and was well thought out when it first came out, so no big need to revise it and give it a "new" look that requires the user to relearn how to operate it.
Always great uses with old scanners …
Always great uses with old scanners (hP 6220c, photo scanners , Canon 700, ...) never had issues, often better than originals, for simplicity and permanent support. Windows to Mac Intel to Mac M series.
The only scanner interface worth using
Have used VueScan for many years through nuimerous scanners Found the interface much easier to use than the manufacturer's and consistent across different manufacturer's products and while multiple scanners are installed. VueScan is still supporting my old obsolete Nikon Scan thus saving it from the scrap heap.
Very easy to use
Very easy to use, intuitive interface. I've been very happy with the results whether print or transparency. I like the fact they support my older photo scanner.
VueScan deliver
VueScan deliver all the software and service I could ever ask for. Regular software updates provide enhanced functionality and at the same time correct minor imperfections in previous versions and thus keep my slide scanner in perfect working order all the time. Thank you VueScan. I hope you will continue your service "forever".
excellent scanning software
excellent scanning software, kept up to date. An excellent piece of software that works well with my old scanner and printer. easy to use and kept up to date over the years. only Voluntary contribution required!
The only solution needed for about any scanner around
I originally got this program to save an old film scanner that no longer had drivers as Windows updated to a newer version. Now, this is the only scanning software I use. The old film scanner still works, and every scanner I've had in the last many years (mostly multifunction scanner/printers) also works. I ditched the software that comes with them; VueScan is the only thing I've needed. Deserving of every one of the 5 stars I've given it.
A very helpful and customer friendly tool for scanning documents ans photo's
I bought the program more than 10 years ago when HP was no longer supporting my scanner. Now the scanner became unserviceable and I replaced it by an Epson printer/scanner. However, the Epson scanner software is very customer unfriendly. I was so positively surprised when I found out that VueScan is also able to support scanning with my new Epson scanner.
Vue Scan user for 15+ years
I have used Vue Scan for more than 15 years (by 2026) and it's consistently excellent. It lets me keep using some excellent old scanners that aren't supported any more (such as a Nikon CoolScan 5000) as well as some scanner-copiers whose UI isn't brilliant. VueScan gives a consistent UI with good pro controls on everything it drives.
