This program is a "RIP OFF." I…
This program is a "RIP OFF." I currently pay $855.00 a month for the last 3 years and some of my accounts are still not settled. For over a year the company took $455.00 off the top as their payment which is why it is so hard to build funds in your account to settle. Because the company refused to settle I ended up paying double when they finally did settle. I even settled some of my accounts on my own. I do not suggest a program like this to anyone. This program has made my credit worse because it takes so long to settle accounts. I feel Debtor's Court or bankruptcy does not mess your credit up as bad as this program. Do your research before doing a program like this. I have also asked them to settle my last few accts which has yet to be settled. It is so hard to talk to anyone if you call Harbor Legal. "RIP OFF."

Program review
I have to admit that I was very disappointed in the program. I had considerable debt and was in the program for 3 years. I paid $467.00 every month, had 11 creditors and was expecting all creditors to be settled at the end of the 3 years. Unfortunately in addition to that I had to pay an additional $175 each month for my Target account for almost a year and at the end of the 3 years I still had 4 accounts that were not settled. The estimate I was given when I started the program was not accurate, meaning the estimated settlements were not close as I still had $8000 to be settled. I ended up taking care of those accounts on my own.
Any time I emailed I would get an email generated response saying someone would call, they never did. I would have to call back. Any time I called I had to wait a very long time before my call was answered. You need more people to answer your phones, waiting more that 15 minutes is too long!

totally unacceptable business practice and questionable competence and integrity
We made several attempts calling Legal Harbor Group ( 855-401-5792). Unfortunately, all our calls go straight to voice record and then put on hold for close to 30 minutes. We have completed all our payments, yet much to our dismay, Legal Harbor Group was only able to settle 3 out of our 5 credit cards. It seems LEGAL HARBOR GROUP has a reputation of asking more payments every time full payments have been completed because somehow it was not able to keep its promise with the agreement. We have fulfilled our obligation to pay Legal Harbor Group the amount of $688.00 for the past 4 years and therefore expect that Legal Harbor Group will keep and fulfill its obligation to settle all of our 5 credit cards. The amount we have agreed upon with Legal Harbor Group is for the complete settlement of our 5 credit cards. For Legal Harbor Group to ask us again for more payments because it was not able fulfill its obligation is totally unacceptable. There are several reviews from clients that were published in the internet indicating that this has been become Legal Harbor Group's " REPUTATION". We therefore did not not accept any additional payments they have requested. We expect Legal harbor Group to fulfill their promise to us when they initially convince us to get their services 4 years ago that the company we are dealing is competent, honorable and with integrity.
We also reminded them of the mission statement they lavishly put along with their logo “Excellent service and compassionate employees who take the time to explain issues in detail and are available to answer questions.”
hold true, honorable and sincere.

I started to laugh when I received this…
I started to laugh when I received this email to review our experience with Harbor Legal Group. They do not want my wife and I to be their poster children!
This has been the worst experience you can imagine. I can not even begin to explain all of the issues with this company. The list goes on and on.
These people lie to you and they are the worst in customer service.
Please, do not fall into the trap that my wife and I fell into with this company. Do not use Harbor Legal Group! You will be making the same mistake that my wife and I did!
This review is written in all honesty and the facts of our situation and how Harbor Legal Group has handled our accounts is not worthy of a single star in this review. In fact, if I had the money to sue this company, I would.
The are terrible and just look at the other reviews. They should be shut down!!

In the beginning all was good, not so much towards the end
We started the program in 2015 as well and have been pleased with the service, response and especially all of the settlements, that is until August 2018. We were down to our final 3 creditors, had enough in our account to pay all 3 in full and asked for lump sums to be paid to all 3 of them so we could graduate and be finished.
What happened instead is nothing but constant phone calls from us for the next several weeks (3-4 per week) to ask for the lump sum to be completed. At the end of September the 1st of the 3 accounts was done anyway so not a big deal but the 2nd of the 3 accounts took until the end of October while we were charged additional program fees, etc. The 3rd account has been a mess since that time with the 2nd of 2 payments sent out on 8/31 but then returned at the first of October due to an invalid account number.
Then things really got messy and frustrating. It took them from the first of October until the end of December (3 more months of program fees) and began accusing us of missing our draft payments being the reason why the check from August was returned. The December payment didn't go out because RAM figured out they had forgot to charge us for a previous month so took out an additional payment which left us $5 (yes, $5) short from having enough in our account to cover the "final" payment.
So, in January they finally got in touch with the creditor and they agreed to let them send a payment at the end of January (another month of program fees). This payment was returned last week due to, you guessed it, another wrong account number. The same wrong account number that was used back at the end of August.
They have our account marked, of course, as "client defaulted" because it couldn't possibly be their fault (duh?!) and we're now waiting on a copy of the settlement letter so we can send in the final payment ourselves. This is because our RAM account is closed and they apparently didn't feel like going that route, so once again it's our fault.
Their customer service is interesting, sure they answer the phones after a 30-45 minute wait and they attempt to provide a service but every time we call it's as if none of the previous conversations ever took place.
The reason for the 2 stars is that they didn't complete what they started and act like it's our fault. If they had sent out lump sums at the first of August, as requested, we would have had $500+ dollars excess funds in our RAM account. But because they waited, it dwindled down to the point that we had to put in extra funds to cover the 4-5 months of additional program fees.
We did send a detailed e-mail showing how much we have been charged in additional fees since August. Their response was "thanks for letting us know, we'll look into that situation". At this point we have heard nothing about that situation.
So, on 3/15/2019 we are waiting for a copy of that settlement letter to arrive via e-mail so that we send in the last payment ourselves. They have assured us that the creditor will accept our payment but at this point I really have some serious doubts.
We would gladly rewrite this review and give 5 stars if we could ever be sure that we were finished but until that happens it will remain as posted.
As of 3/18/2019, still no settlement via e-mail so we are still waiting ....

Cheers
Cheers. When I began this program in 2015 I had my doubts and worries. But as time progressed, as accounts were settled, and the folks I always spoke with were so positive, and upbeat my doubts began to dwindle. And now that the program is finished, I have graduated, all my accounts are settled. I am finally out from under it all. I really just didn't think it was possible, some sort of catch. The ole “To good to be true” syndrome. But now I know and believe.
A lot of people over these years, since 2015, have helped in so many ways. There have been a few hiccups along the way, but with this sort of expansive operation, well, ya gotta expect a bit of that. After all, it was 12 accounts.
But as the program started closing in on it’s final months it had me worried once again as I just didn’t see how the last 2 accounts could be settled with what would be added to my account to make the kind of settlement I expected.
In the mean time there were a couple of serious concerns about a couple of the accounts. One being paid to the wrong account, the other being settled when it had already been settled. After a number of calls I was put in contact with Kedra, my understanding is she is a Floor Supervisor. She is the first one to get the ball rolling. But after further review she referred my concerns to Natoya, my understanding, a Client Services Manager.
Now let me tell you, when she took control of the situation, she lit fires everywhere. I couldn’t believe just how quickly things progressed when she stepped in.
Both of the serious problems were resolved virtually within a couple weeks. She kept me informed every step of the way. Boom, problems solved.
Next, she looked into an account that had submitted a Form 1099c to the IRS with a code G, which indicated they were not going to pursue further negotiation settlement, just simply had forgiven the debt. Natoya ensured the account reflected the action and had it basically marked as resolved with no further negotiation required.
Last on the list was an account that had been sold off to a different debt collector without notification to myself or Harbor Legal Group. When I informed Natoya of that action, she immediately reviewed the situation and within days had the negotiation team come to a settlement for the account with the new debt collection agency. I mean it was like lightening, liketty split as we used to say!!
Bottom line: Because of her personal attention and involvement, all problems were resolved and accounts settled. Result: I am graduating from the program 6 months early. I know a lot of folks helped me over these past roughly 4 years. But Natoya’s personal involvement, the way she kept me informed, the way she explained all the actions that were to take place along the way, is simply amazing. Your Firm needs to clone her!! She is wonderful.
When Natoya stepped in and took direct control, I was able to cross the finish line in truly great fashion. I don’t have the words to say just how she made such a difference in how things turned out. Thank you just doesn’t seem sufficient!
But: THANK YOU!!! MY SINCEREST GRATITUDE TO ALL THOSE AT HARBOR LEGAL GROUP WHO HELPED ME, ESPECIALLY NATOYA!!!

No follow through on requests
I have 10 months left to go on my plan and already the customer service agent is telling me that I probably won't be able to settle my last 2 accounts and will need to pay more in the end. I asked to have copies of my paid off accounts sent to me and twice I have been told they would send them out and to allow 48 hours and it has now been over two week from the last request. I am getting so frustrated as I have paid everything on time and stuck to their plan. I am ready to contact the Better Business Bureau and also plan on sharing my experience on social media. Very disappointed after paying close to $40,000 into this program.

I made all of the program payments on time and fullfilled my part of the contract, they did not settle all of my accounts in the 42 months of the contract and are now expecting me to pay more in for the last two accounts. Harbor Legal did not deliver what they promised and also worth noting is that there customer service is lousy, I sat on hold for at least 30 minutes on average before I got to speak with someone about my account. Do not trust this company to provide you with what they advertise. I would give zero stars if possible.
POOR SERVICE HARBOR LEGAL
Just now happy with Harbor Legal Group you have thrown me under the bus a few times and still have my deceased husband 2 years ago on the accounts which I have sent you many times the death certificate as well as anything else in regards to the accounts.

Professional but horrible customer…
Professional but horrible customer service. My creditor offered a reduced settlement but they refused to pay. A year later Harbor settled for an amount four and a half times greater than that which I was offered citing the Power of Attorney that they had me sign three years ago. I was told that I will be given the opportunity to accept or decline any offer presented. I expressly declined the offer but the next day I was called and told that they had accepted the offer on my behalf. I told them that that was unacceptable and asked to speak with a supervisor. I was told that I could not. When I pressed, I was told that the supervisor would call me on Monday. Three weeks have passed and no call back.

This company paid off 2 pf my lowest cards first... exciting then the nightmare started. I received a judgement to go to court, they never showed up for court, , my wages are being garnished. Now the company that is suing me will not talk to me because HLG are my power of attorney but has not reached out to the collection agencies. I would sfvise you to find an agency in your local town . Do not use HLG...run....

Please beware of this company
Please beware of this company. I entered their program in June of 2015 with $48,000 of debt. I was told that I would be debt free in 3 years. I called them in May 2018 to see if I could pay the last 3 months off and was informed that the program will need to be extended. I told them I payed in excess of $31,000 and you are saying I need an estimated $9,000 to finish the program at $866 a month. The starting debt of $48,000 was with interest and late payments so what did they actually save. The contract states that they will settle your debt at 35% of what you owe. Well you can see that this math did not calculate out. I did tell them to opt me out of the program so I can have the rest of accounts resolved myself. Please do not fall for their false advertisement.
