Deceptive Insurers. Strongly Recommend Alternatives. Happy to Share Details.
After securing the insurance, I was notified 2 days before the renewal date that my premium is going up by 30%. Their representative/broker was clear in his tone and cavalier attitude that he knew if he told me about that premium increase with advanced notice, I could shop around an alternative. I couldn't because I would then be at risk of being uninsured for a week or so, which is dangerous, to say the least. So, I was effectively forced to contract against an egregious premium increase.
I was then told (by someone else) that I can cancel after 90 days and get 75% back. So I did exactly that following the renewal, set it to cancel exactly 90 days after the start date. But they loaded the contract with the right to a "short-rate" refund vs a "pro-rata" refund, which then allowed them to charge me 35% of a premium that was 25% completed.
It also took over 5 months to get my refund, which was on the back of numerous emails (many unanswered) requesting an update on the refund.
I strongly recommend you stay away from this company. Happy to field any questions and provide communication that verifies the experience.
