Held $7k - no contact

They held a payment and didn't send an email.

I had to log into the app to see the notification telling me to reply to the email to release it. I checked my email, they didn't send an email, and the links on their website to contact support didn't work either.

I had to record a loom and send it to their team. It is pretty lame that a company can hold onto 7k for over a week and not send any communications.

I've since emailed their team 3 times.

Please just release the money, you're holding up client work, which we're having to fund out of our own pocket. It's pathetic to say the least. I understand you need "Additional information is required" but for the love of god, send an email, or at least tell me where to submit this additional information.

Edit: I got it sorted. I had to find the CEO on LinkedIn, send him a bunch of looms and screenshots, and then get passed onto their online chat.

Once it started working, I had to do the exact process, send multiple screenshots, and create an entire email thread between myself and a client.

Then, I was asked to fill in a form to ensure it didn't happen again.

What a waste of time.

Best project management tool for our agency

As an agency of over 15+ professionals, Bonsai has transformed our workflow. We started using them when we were only 2 people on the team, and we used Bonsai only for a few features at the beginning (proposals, contracts and invoicing).

But as our team grew to nearly 20 people now, we started needing more features, and surprisingly, Bonsai grew as well and launched the features we needed like project management, budgeting, team resource planning and business profitability overview. It made our daily operations way more efficient and simplified the overall project management process and working with clients.

We also tested a few other tools in the meantime but Bonsai was the only one that hit the sweet spot of ease of use and a comprehensive list of features that seem to be specifically built for agency workflows.

Additionally, the customer support is top-notch, always responsive and knowledgeable.

The most ridiculous service i've ever received. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME

Just don't bother wasting your time.

I am a digital marketing agency, so I thought this looks amazing so I opened an account. My account was locked immediately and it told me to message support, so I did.

You still have access to all the features whilst this is happening, so I spent time adding all my details and setting up clients and tasks etc.

After 3 days, they reply saying my account has been cancelled, READ THE REASON BELOW:

"Your account was subject to a manual review process. As a result of it, I regret to inform you that we will not be able to support your Bonsai account going forward. While we wish we could support every business, there are certain cases in which we are not able to provide our service. We have made sure to cancel your subscription and refund any unsettled payments."

I mean what type of software specifically designed for marketing "can't support every business". If you can't support business for whatever reason, don't offer a subscription plan in the first place.

So now I'm left with 4/5 days wasted, clients waiting for proposals, because Bonsai "can't support my business", with literally no real reason given. So I will be taking my business elsewhere.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME ON THIS TRASH SERVICE.

Great Customer Experience

Still in my trial period. Had a relatively complex question re: uploading emails. Cara made sure she fully understood the issue, and she escalated to her team. I got a reply and resolution within hours. Usually don't receive resolution on escalated issues same day.

Bonsai has great customer service

Bonsai has great customer service. I tweeted them about an issue I was having and they emailed me within 12 hours. Their tools are so helpful in the small agency I run, that I'll probably never go anywhere else.

Really loving Bonsai for my consulting practice…

Really loving Bonsai for my grantwriting consulting practice! I'm surprised to find a platform that does proposals, contracts, time tracking, invoicing, client data collection and project/task management all in one place. It's been saving me valuable time on the admin side of my business. Especially loving the user-friendly proposal acceptance / contract signature features, and the automation capabilities, which have enabled me to send invoices, payment reminders, and forms automatically instead of manually. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5, is the process for importing data from my prior time-tracking program hasn't been the easiest. But other than that, the Bonsai platform is fantastic for a freelancer or consultant.

Hello bonsai is a scam

Hi, the bonsai bank is nothing but fraud, they are scammers pretending to be a bank. Do not open an account with them, do not deposite your money into the account nor use it for your business. As soon as you start putting money into the account out of no where they will close your account. You will not be able to access your money or account. They will not give you access to your own money. They will literally steal your money right from underneath you. As I write today. I'm still fighting them to rewire back to me money that I rewired from my personal account from another bank into my bonsai account. I'm so happy I didn't give the bonsai account to my customers. I would have lost way more money than what I'm fighting for now. The most annoying thing is they cancel your subscription but yet they still charge you for the monthly fees even though they say your account is closed and that they can no longer work with you. Please please please do not invest with bonsai.

Bonsai / Hello Bonsai is Terrible

Bonsai / Hello Bonsai is absolutely terrible. They charge ridiculous transaction fees and then hold your money up for weeks after the payment has been made. Absolutely infuriating, they have massively screwed up my business. I wish I had known this before signing up with them. I canceled my account with them as soon as I learned about their predatory practices. Literally, any other service would be better than Bonsai.
In addition, Bonsai support is practically non-existent. I have never paid so much for a service and not been able to get an actual person on the phone to try to resolve even the most basic issues.

Bonsai is a great tool that has helped…

Bonsai is a great tool that has helped make freelancing 10x easier. It has time tracking, invoicing and proposal templates, integrated payments, banking, and even has white-label client portal support. A lot of value for a low monthly or annual subscription.

Support has been incredibly helpful with getting me unblocked when I've run into issues, and have even taken my feedback and added it to a feature request board where I can track progress.

Overall great team and very helpful product.
