Honestly top notch customer service. Every time I contact them which isn’t much because their platform is awesome. Jade was fantastic, she kept me updated, did exactly what I needed and walked me through the steps. She was very friendly and prompt in her responses. Great company. Great customer service.

I have been using Bonsai for a year and recently encountered an issue with their customer service team. I had an outstanding invoice involved in legal battles throughout the year, which was recently resolved. After the client made the payment, Bonsai emailed me requesting additional information to verify our business relationship, essentially holding my funds until I provided it. I responded immediately with the information and asked why they had suddenly taken this position. Their customer service team was slow to communicate, offered no phone support, and provided impersonal responses. I will be leaving the service and cannot recommend it to others.

They refuse to cancel an account attached to an email that no longer exists, even the account has not been used in over 2 years. Multiple conversations with customer service, yet they still charge my bank every month, forcing me to file a dispute with my bank.

Great Product - Phenomenal Support
Our experience with Bonsai has been very positive. What we found most refreshing is the incredibly high service and support levels. You generally do not get the kind of support that Bonsai offers from other SaaS providers. Their support has made our transition to the solution much more efficient and productive.
It has everything I need as a new freelancer!
Honestly, I don't often leave reviews, but Bonsai has been so great that I have to. Everything I've needed as a startup freelancer, Bonsai has had. From contracts, to time tracking, invoicing, and banking - it's all there. And the few times I've run into issues, there's been fantastic support and even a suggestion board where I can advocate for new tools. I use free versions of everything wherever I can, but I'm happy to pay for Bonsai's high-value service.
Everything started out great but its too risky to use this platform
Everything started out great. As a freelancer, this was the perfect tool for covering the admin aspects of my freelance business. Then for no reasons, my account was blocked for some reason and I had to go through a verification process. I went through the process and I wasn't able to get my account back on track. They closed my account without any further details. This is the type of company to avoid at all costs. No reasons for why your account was blocked, no way to talk to a real person to resolve any items. If you are working with this platform just know that you can be set up for a similiar scenario at any time. Use at your own risk!

Lifesaver as a business owner
I am a small business owner and HelloBonsai has honestly been one of my favorite companies I have ever worked with. I love their product, but love the customer experience even more.
They genuinely listen when you make suggestions and their customer support team is amazing!
Just in the year or so that I have used them they have already implemented multiple features that I, and many other clients, have suggested (some of which I couldn't find in any other similar platform I had looked at).
Being a business owner is crazy sometimes with how many hats you have to wear, and their platform has been a time and effort saver in a lot of ways. Some of my favorite features include being able to send invoices and have clients pay me online through their platform, invoice auto-reminders for clients so I'm not spending so much time chasing money, built in contracts with electronic signatures, the client portal, time and budget tracking for projects...
As with everything I use in the world of technology, there are things I get frustrated with and don't necessarily love about their platform, but even still I would recommend them without hesitation as I have watched them improve on a weekly basis, giving me confidence in the future of this program.
I finally have time to actually work on my business!
Bonsai has been a game-changer for my agency! It's like having a personal assistant that handles all the tedious admin work. The templated contracts save me a lot of time on paperwork, and I love how everything updates automatically when payments come in, or projects move forward. Their automated workflows help me set up when documents and updates get sent to clients. Everything is streamlined, from project management to time tracking, helping me stay profitable. Plus, their customer service is exceptional. Always helpful and responsive when I need them. They listen to my feedback and consider feature requests, making me feel valued as a customer. I can finally focus on what matters: growing my business. Definitely worth the investment!
AWFUL customer service
Company has a good product. BUT their customer support is AWEFUL. It takes days to hear back from them. And when they do, there's zero show of concern on how sensitive it is to miss the services of a platform you've trusted to handle client work. I paid my first subscription and in the first week there was a bug and I couldn't use the app. Took weeks to fix. Now I am unable to login and on contacting support, they need to take 3 days to go over stuff. All this while, my business is paused.

I have created a Bank Account and connected my business account to this application which was a lot of trust I placed in using this service. AVOID AT ALL COST
Created an account as my previous invoicing platform stopped being supported. I had used Bonsai before and had a good experience. I set up my account no problem, and got my client on board. Sent the first invoice and 3 days after they paid it, Bonsai said I was subject to a manual review. When I asked why I was flagged they said their process was “proprietary” and they refused to disclose it. I provided several documents they asked for and after over a week of back and forth, they closed my account and refunded my client. Super frustrating experience! I found out PayPal has invoicing and will just be using them from now on. Avoid Bonsai AT ALL COSTS!

Bonsai has freed me up to do what I love...
Bonsai has been an outstanding productivity boost. I have been able to maximize time with my clients rather than paperwork, from start to finish. The proposal templates, their calendar booking tool, CRM management, and invoicing automation have allowed me to understand my best customers, best offers, cash flow, and resource usage. The integration is easy, and the overall use called for minimal time spent on learning the tool. I was able to hit the ground running because it is so easy to use.
Absolutely do not use this service
Absolutely do not use this service. I made an account not long ago and after a week of using it they cancelled my account out of nowhere, which was gutting as it looks good.
I then set up another account with a different e-mail and set up my business on there. I've had the account for 2/3 months now.
I finally got my first client and was so excited to use it, guess what ? It happened again. I've set my client up on there and sent hi ma proposal, he's paid a 5% deposit through the proposal and they've just sent me an e-mail saying your account was subject to a manual review and was closed.
DO NOT USE BONSAI, I WILL BE GOING TO TRADING STANDARDS ABOUT THIS
Good Product that continues to improve
We wanted a product that we could integrate our project management and invoicing seamlessly and Bonsai was the answer for that. Bonsai seems to be constantly improving their product and are very open to feedback.
