Misleading and misusing you personal data

I have been trying to delete my account for more than a year now without any success.

It is my belief that such a fundamental feature should be readily available on the website prior to the commencement of their services. However, regrettably, this has not been the case. This lack of accessibility raises concerns regarding potential misuse of our data, including its unauthorized sale to third parties.

I have just sent in a complaint at the EU authorities in Denmark and Germany flagging your issue.

This post is my final attempt to give you feedback and I would be happy to never hear from you again.

I truly never had a worse experience.

The concept of having recipies and…

The concept of having recipies and ingredients is simply lovely and the recipies totally fulfill my need for difference. I love the variety of choices for meals. Personally, I would prefer an option of ordering larger quantity of food for two meals a week, instead of having to have 3 meals as a minimum. I never manage to cook the third meal. The portions are quite small. The vegetables could be nicer and riper. The fish and meat are excellent.

Be careful about how you log on

I have started again on Hello Fresh one week ago and I’m really happy resume to the weekly boxes. Until today I have received two of the same box. Hello Fresh refuses to refund my box because they believe I have two accounts even I say I’m only using one. The funny thing is, if I log on my hello fresh app with my Apple ID by accident then it automatically starts a subscription, then it’s a bit scary.
Anyways I have cancelled both of my accounts now just to be sure. I am not happy about food waste either now I have enough food for 8 people in my small apartment.

Terrible service

Their website is very complicated and they do not mention it is a subscription based company when you pay for the first delivery. I had a voucher and ordered via them and then a week later I receive a message for a delivery I did not make with some meals I did not choose that cannot even be changed! A message would be ok BEFORE the deadline! Stay away from HelloFresh, I'm surprised this is even a legal business in Denmark. Not to mention that the vegetables were not in the best condition either, one of the carrots was molded.

Alle ændringer og afbestillinger skal foretages inden deadline, som for leveringer lørdag og søndag er tirsdag kl. 23.59, for leveringer mandag og tirsdag er onsdag kl. 23.59, og for leveringer onsdag, torsdag og fredag er deadline søndag kl. 23.59.

Vi gennemfører alle ordrer efter deadline for den kommende leveringsuge, så vi bedst kan koordinere med vores leverandører, og sikre dig de mest friske ingredienser fra dem, til din dør, samt reducere madspild så meget som muligt.

Vi informerer om vores deadline ved registrering, men forstår at en ugentlig levering ikke fungerer for alle. Derfor tilbyder vi muligheden for at springe op til 5 uger over ad gangen, eller at have en abonnements plan med levering hver anden eller fjerde uge i stedet.

They write you can cancel the box with 5 days before, but it's not 5 is 6 days. The price is also expensive.

We have now tried it for 2 weeks and we…ri

We have now tried it for 2 weeks and we think that overall is fine, but not great. Our criticism:
-vegetables are often a bit old.
-dishes are repetitive: in 2 weeks, we have gotten 4 dishes rice based and every day, EVERY DAY, we have a variation of mayonnaise :) and I don’t even like mayonnaise.
-we have in a few cases an ingredient or two missing (not impressive that has happen a few times in 2 weeks, one day it was one of the main ingredients).
-considering the price, the quality should be better.
This is our opinion :)

Vi arbejder konstant på at udvide valgmuligheder af vores måltider, så variation på måltider er helt bestemt formålet. Hold endelig øje med det.

Vi sætter stort vægt på kvaliteten af vores produkter, så det er en ren skuffelse at høre, at det ikke levede op til forventningen 🙁 .

Vi ved, at brugen af HelloFresh formodes at være den lette og problemfrie løsning, så at der mangler nogle ingredienser, eller findes ingredienser med dårlig kvalitet, er heller ikke den bedste oplevelse. Vi lægger meget tid og kærlighed i vores måltidskasser, for at undgå fejl som disse, og vi undersøger gerne hvad der kan være sket.

Incomplete/flawed deliveries takes the convenience away

In October 2023 we took a hiatus from Hello Fresh. This was because we had experienced a steep decline in quality of their veggies since we first begun using them in the spring. After 2 months, we decided that it was now time to give them a second chance; this is the first week after Christmas and New Year's and notoriously busy; it would be nice not having to spend time in yet another shop. However, this was not to be the case; the day before delivery we were notified (in 3 separate mails) that the ingredients for 2 of the 3 meals in our box were incomplete and that we had to procure them ourselves. This is pretty frustrating as one of the main selling points of Hello Fresh is the ability to save time from shopping and now we still had to visit our market.

After contacting their customer service it became abundantly clear that they unwilling to offer anything else than had been already been relayed in the mail (i.e. the monetary value of the missing ingredients). This means that the people at Hello Fresh do not seem to understand that their value proposition is really all about the convenience of not having to go to the store - not just that you can be financially compensated for missing/stale ingredients.

Even if I decided to spend some of my time to give my feedback, they were steadfast and made no concessions apart from promising that my next three deliveries would be checked by a supervisor. I think they might spend this time better by ensuring that the people who do the packing do not pack stale veggies, and that the customer services representatives do have the mandate to fix issues instead of just repeating what already written by mail. Till then, we have decided to close our account and go for one of the many alternative meal kits that focus a bit more on ingredient quality that you can depend on, so that you actually don't have to run to the store.
