This company is a scam
This company is a scam, BEWARE!!!!!!! I scheduled an appointment. They charged my credit card immediately. They cancelled the appointment later, and for days kept telling me they are trying to find a technician. I am trying to get my money back that they stole from me on my credit card. Company is a money grabbing scam. Notice all the 1 star reviews. I hope they go out of business soon.
They will steal your money
We requested that a Ring security system be installed, along with two cameras. Company sent out an incompetent technician who ended up having to leave midway through the job , saying he had to get to his other workplace. He did not finish installing the system, nor did he even start on the two cameras. Only one of the eight door sensors for the security system was correctly installed. The other sensors were either incorrectly installed or not installed at all. It's impossible to get ahold of anyone at the company. When I finally did get a response, they offered a 20% refund ($65.60) on the $328 job. Two cameras were not even touched ($229) and the $99 security system was not functional. So I paid $262.40 for nothing!!! I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I'm stunned that this company has any decent reviews. They are scam artists who deserve to go out of business. The 1.11 star average rating from 122 people on BBB is a more accurate assessment of this company.
Virtually impossible to cancel this…
Virtually impossible to cancel this subscription. A scam.
Stay as far away from HelloTech!!!!
Better customer support. They don't care about the customer. I filed a complaint immediately and got no response. By the time I finally got ahold of someone the 30 day cancelation had passed and I was told there was nothing they could do.
The installer left a mess everywhere. I neglected to remove 2 bolts from the old mounting and he complained about it then asked me if I wanted hime to remove them and I said of course then after he left he charged me another 150 bucks! If he had told me that was the case I would have removed them myself! HelloTech is the worst company I have ever worked with! I sent them pictures of the job and complained about the installer and all they said was thank for letting us know but nothing. I've been trying to get out of the contract since day 1! Stay away the only what your money and don't care about single bit about you or the job they do. They just take your money!
Don't use this company
I booked this company to install security cameras inside and outside of my home. The technician canceled twice so requested a refund in whole in the amount of $200 that had been taken of my debit card prior to service being completed. It was only supposed to be a hold in that amount however it was deducted and now they are saying they did refund me however nowhere in my bank records show such thing even contacted my bank and they didn't see any refund. I have now have to file a dispute through my bank in effort to recover my money!! Totally got scammed and the audacity to lie even steal from me is horrible.. I warn you do not use this company
I have absolutely NO reason to use any…
I have absolutely NO reason to use any or their services.
I'm not accusing them of being a fraud, but unless I've lost all of my marbles at age 87, I simply don't need their dervices.
Terrible experience
Terrible experience. The tech never showed after saying he was going to arrive before 10:30am then 30 mins later he said he was going to arrive before 11am then 20 mins later he said he is going to arrive closer to 11:10am. I followed up at 11:27am asking if he is going to make the appt and he sent a text message saying he canceled the order. What a joke this service is.
Listen folks, if you don't want to work then do not say yes to a job you never intend on fulfilling or a job you are not committed to.
No show
I sat at my house for hours waiting for the first appointment. They said the technician called, but I didn't answer, so they cancelled and marked the work completed. I only found this out by calling the company through xfinity. Today, they didn't show. I'd specifically told them they'd need a ladder to get to the second story, yet the message I got today at the end of the appointment window was that they were looking for a ladder. Now have a 3rd appointment, but they set it for two different days. One would hope they'll give me a firm date ahead of time. I carefully explained again that they need a ladder, and if they don't reach me by phone to text. I don't have a great deal of hope that they will come through.
Extremely Disappointed – Unreliable and Unaccountable Company
I normally don’t write reviews, but after my experience with this company, I feel compelled to share in hopes of saving others from the frustration and time I’ve gone through.
From the beginning, communication was spotty at best. I scheduled a service with them well in advance and was assured that everything was confirmed. The day of the appointment came and went—no one showed up. No phone call, no email, not even a courtesy text to let me know there would be a delay. I had taken time off work specifically to be available, only to be completely ghosted.
I reached out the next day and was told there had been an "unexpected delay" and that someone would reschedule with me immediately. I gave them the benefit of the doubt—everyone has off days, right? Unfortunately, that was just the beginning of the ongoing pattern of unkept promises.
They rescheduled... and failed to show up again.
This cycle repeated itself multiple times: confirm an appointment, fail to show, offer vague apologies, and promise to "make it right" with a new date. Each time, I cleared my schedule, and each time I was left waiting with no service delivered. After the third no-show, I finally asked for a full refund. I had already paid in advance for a service that, to this day, has never been provided.
That’s when things got even more frustrating. Suddenly, the customer service reps became much harder to reach. Calls went to voicemail, emails were ignored, and when I did finally get a response, it was full of vague promises that my refund was “being processed.” That was over a month ago. To date, I have not received a dime back.
It’s one thing for a company to run into scheduling issues—life happens, and I can be understanding when people are honest and proactive. But the complete lack of accountability, professionalism, and basic respect for a customer’s time and money is unacceptable. Not honoring a refund for a service that was never rendered is not only unethical, it borders on theft.
I’ve since filed a complaint with my bank and reported the company to the Better Business Bureau. If you’re considering using their services, I highly recommend you look elsewhere. There are plenty of businesses out there that value their customers and operate with integrity. Unfortunately, this is not one of them.
Save yourself the stress. Avoid this company at all costs.
It’s a scam
It’s a scam. I asked for tv mounting and paid for it. After few weeks they starting charging me subscription fee on my credit card and for months they had been doing it until
I found. I asked for any proof where I subscribed or confirmed subscription but to no avail. I plan to file a law suit against them. It’s not only me but various other complainants I have seen on the internet.
Take your business elsewhere
Take your business elsewhere. HelloTech will be out of business soon. This is from the perspective of one of their top techs.
When I started taking job offers from HelloTech years ago, the techs received the larger portion of payout (which is how it should be). NO TECHS EQUALS NO HELLOTECH.
After several partnerships, tech payout is less than half in most cases.
Now that they have lost most of their techs to competitors, they have resorted to annoying the few of us left by sending job offers hundreds of miles from home and even out of state, even though they CANNOT AFFORD to pay what it would cost to convince any tech to travel that far. Especially, since most techs have full-time day jobs and do not have the time or interest to travel that far.
However, even after making multiple requests to management to stop sending offers that fall outside of the tech's schedule and distance preferences, they continue to ignore and show a complete lack of respect to the techs.
FYI, they are doing just so they can tell customer's in areas where there are no techs that they tried to find a tech. Instead of being up front with the customer, they would rather annoy techs (in another state or city) knowing full well the techs will not accept the job offer, because they have already been notified by the tech that they only accept jobs within their preferred schedule and distance preferences.
Keep in mind, this company is ONLY A PLATFORM. They do not have employed (W2) techs. They just contract to local resources.
Do yourself (and the hard working techs) a favor and take your business elsewhere.
Companies that use these sort of predatory and deceptive practices do not deserve your hard earned money.
Virtually any other platform is a better option than HelloTech.
Thank you for your consideration.
Terrible experience
Terrible experience, rude customer service and inept installer. Hired them to mount a tv on the wall and hide the wires. The tech who arrived refused to do it because he didn't know how! Customer service said they could send someone else out later, but wanted to charge me again! So while the tv was mounted, the wires are exposed.
Also, asked them to hang an indoor basketball hoop. The tech failed to use any anchors and now the bolts continually come out with use.
The tech was a nice guy, but he had no idea what he was doing and this is just hanging stuff on a wall! I really don't understand why they would hire someone who admitted he was not capable of doing the job.
Issues with Hello Tech
We contacted Hello Tech and they sent a tech out to our home. He did not complete the items we needed done, but Hello Tech charged for the uncompleted items. We are getting NO WHERE with customer service. Our next step is to dispute the Credit Charges. We are very unhappy with Hello Tech

Appointments are easily available for a reason -- they clearly scramble after the fact and then tell you on the scheduled day that the tech can't make it. This happened to me 3 times. Also, they solicit memberships with the lure of bringing the per-visit price down. I think that if you decline, they place you at the back of the line and cancel on you more readily.
I signed up for the service when I…
I signed up for the service when I purchased a TV from Walmart, within 20 mins of purchase I realized the tv mount itself was not included. I was charged a 50.00 cancelation fee for a 75.00 service.
Don’t bother
Don’t bother. Made two appointments tech never showed up for either. Hello tech and xfinity perfect partners they both suck!
Buyer Beware
Called for tech and he showed up three hours late despite me calling several times and being told he is in the way every time. Had boilerplate, hidden language requiring I pay $19.99 a month thereafter. I called to cancel saying I didn’t see or mean to do that and was told that’s too bad. I scheduled a service since I was already paying and they canceled it. Then I rescheduled and no one showed up so after 1 hour 40 min I called and they said they need to reschedule. They had no reason for why no one showed. They rescheduled the next time frame and I asked if I take off that time will someone be here. And they said they didn’t know. I asked them why did the message they just sent me say the appointment is rescheduled for this time period. They said that’s just if someone responds and not a guarantee. I asked to speak to a manager and they said there wasn’t one available, worst experience ever with this place. I asked how to post a review on their site where they claim all these high ratings and was told I have to email them. Ha that explains all the high ratings and none of the poor ones. In that time period now when someone should be here but no one yet and have no idea if someone will show or not. Although I am guessing not. Buyer beware!
Worst service ever
Spent 2 afternoons at home waiting for a technicia that never shoved up, what a waiste of time. I can't understand how they can be in business!
Couldn't set up system
Techs showed up and were very professional but didn't and couldn't set up the security system. I'm waiting for a refund.
I received my refund but I had to be persistent. I had to prove that I returned the cove system before they would refund my money.
The technician never showed up and…
The technician never showed up and still try to say he “started” the project with no one here. Also, they try to charge you for service that never happened. Do not use!
