Untrusted and Unprofessional Company
I have applied a role for a Care Assistant for Northampton area at Helping Hands at the beginning of June 2026. I took the one day RAD training on the middle of June 2026 and was told I passed. Then the next step, I was told to wait for their call as now they will have to process the admin stuff like the DBS checks and references checks, which they had done.
However, I have not received any call from anyone. Concerned, I phoned them on the 13th of July for an update and the trainer apologised for the long process. She asked me some questions which they already have the answers before, as I have already provided them to the HR. However, after my last contact, I still have not received any response from them, whether I am going to start the role or not.
It doesn't take very long to get a DBS check nor references from my previous employers. I know that for sure. I do have a very clean criminal record so, I'm not sure why it's taking them so long to process my application. Very, very long process!!
This is the 2nd time I have applied a role from their company. The first time was in 2025 and they have done the same behaviour even then. For that reason, I had accepted another role from another company.
In the meantime, I can still see that the role is being advertised. Which means, they are still looking for staff for other places including Northampton.
How I feel?
I am very disappointed and now lost my trust on them because of the way they handled the recruitment process is very unfair and unprofessional.
If this is their attitude to job seekers, how would be their behaviour with their clients?
I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone at all because of the reason mentioned above.
