Something as simple as restoring the color that you didn't change to black and white monitoring, as it must've changed on its own. Is like an Easter egg hunt to figure out. Whereas the online videos... See more

HIKVISION CCTV not good
HIKVISION CCTV not good. I used external hikvision camera not waterproof. Never used hikvision external camera
Finally, Hikvision is gone, smashed into oblivion.
I cannot express in words the relief when we finally had all of the Hikvision devices removed from service at our property. Add to that the pleasure I had in taking every item, including the NVR, placing each on a big rock and smashing them with our heavy mall. Watching each item smash into many un-usable little pieces has finally brought to an end their involvement in our security. Good riddance.
Could be considered a scam company.

They have a "contact us" page which they don't even try to pretend is working. Messages cannot be sent from their web forms and they'll never reply to emails. Their software is outdated and requires you to install questionable software that require more permissions than they should need. Normally a web browser connecting to the camera should have been enough.
My experience with the DS-KV8413-WME1(B) has also been a nightmare. At some point they released a firmware update that promised the device would work stand-alone with phones, so I purchased it with 2 indoor stations hoping I'd use one of the other buttons to make calls to my phone. It would work for a few hours and then there would be no video on the phone call, just audio. Then they released a firmware that fixed this issue but blocked the previous feature of calling to a phone without an indoor station. At least that's what I think... it's not like I can contact them to ask if there's another way for this to work!

Camera quality is great however a security company can call Hikvision, change your contact info to theirs and you can't change it back. You can 'buy' the equipment but you cannot 'own' it. Also if you forget your password, forget it, you're best off to buy a new user-friendly system. Customer service is non-existent at Hikvision.
Camera's are oke
Camera's are oke, however the AI human and vehicle detection are really not made good.
Lots of false alerts.
Even line crossing gives false alerts when there is a shift in light. It does not do any effort to see if it is human, car or a car driving by and the light crossing the line.
Software can be way better.
Nvr system gives a lot of noise and could be produced in a better form factor with better airflow.
Support is not present.
ATROCIOUS SERVICE & SOFTWARE
The Hikvision NVR has worked reasonably well for me, but like others writing reviews the support is non existent and the software is terrible.
They are most likely only interested in assisting companies paying for cloud services. DEFINITELY do not buy these units. Do research and find a system with decent software and a customer care service that actually cares.. I think the comments about spyware on these may be true as my user name has been changed on my account and is now totally inaccessible to me and they won't reset it.. Time for a change!
Chinese State controlled ?
Arrogance in the extreme doesn’t begin to describe the attitude this company has. Unsurprising as I believe it’s ultimately controlled by the CHINESE STATE ! They’ve done nothing to convince me otherwise
Avoid at all costs. They are capable of listening/viewing everything within one’s home.
Spread the word
Wouldn't even give one star,
Wouldn't even give one star,
Person who put cameras up let me down tried to get help off these but support is very poor
Very very bad customer support and service.
Very very bad customer service I called them I asked them to help me with an issue that I had with the CCTV , the customer service was rude arrogant telling me we can’t help you, she refused absolutely.telling me they have to be bought from us.i bought from shops and other places not direct from HIK vision.i have the serial number and everything she was telling me they might not be HIK Vision cameras.i asked why are you there answering calls when you are telling me that you don’t want to help she stated “I am the front house” actually reading the reviews too shows what type of customer service they are and how they are running business.its so bad unbelievable…..
Worst cam systems
If you want to mount more than 5 cameras do not choose the brand. I have to manage 120 cameras and there is no possibility of auto discovery, if there is an ip conflict both just disappear, and the most frustrating you cant sort by name....

Hik version Bristol fantastic I baught cctv cameras and a DVR turbo HD 7200 from them delivery was next day quality of equipment is very good. I needed help with setting them up to watch live on my TV so I called Bristol and a gentleman helped me do that he also helped me set it up on my mobile phone too and to pair it with my friend phone so he can monitor it live when im out of the country . I would recommend them to anyone.
Dont trust these ignorant & cant work own stuff
I must admit the cameras we have are ok and 1 is awesome BUT IT ENDS THERE as customer service is non existent for hikvision and there other company Ezviz though these answered just cant use there own stuff. We have lost £5/600 as cameras wont work after they told Mrs close and open new account to fix fault without saying DELETE cameras first. Sent us to ignorant hikvision.
Poor product and NO CUSTOMER after SERVICE
Poor product and NO CUSTOMER after SERVICE
My alarm system developed a couple of what would be simple things to fix. After calling there 1300# and then being diverted to God knows where and getting the brush off, I tried the other 1300# for the distributor, same brush off and total lack of care. I then tried by e-mail, same brush off. No one wants to own it. That is typical of so called "customer service" from products from China. Take homes: Unless its something like "socks" and you don't care that only last 6months....Do not, do not, do not be fooled into buying high-ticket items of any type from China if you can avoid it. This isn't the first fail I've had. Alarms are high-ticket and important. Go with a reliable brand, local, with adequate customer back-up service. Hik Vision is waste of very good money. Be alerted, don't even think about them as a reliable product/company.
Rubbish cctv and no customer service
Simply not worth buing
Simply not worth buing, no support, impossible to install, EVEN with my mate being pro. gonna burn it.
2 days wasted, 250 us wasted, they cant make a desent cam whitout logging on to the hikvision site. Not even give a description on YT. with the right cam even with right product nr. all deleted now and waiting for daylight to burn the cams.
The company might be called Hikvision, but as far as its UK Customer Service is concerned, I'd say it's definitely got no vision whatsoever in either eye!
I have a CCTV system with a Hikvision camera linked to a Hikvision NVR.
Initially, my local Security Dealer, had a fair amount of difficulty simply enabling my Android phone to connect wirelessly with my NVR, even though there was no problem with the signal strength of my home wi-fi.
It worked in the end, and I had no problem in checking out my carport, while away on holiday in New Zealand.
Getting the NVR to link to my Windows 10 OC, using a different Hikvision app, was much more variable, and literally had a mind of its own.
My initial NVR lasted a fair time, before I updated it, using a different supplier. Unfortunately, they had set it up for 24/7 recording, which made a far greater demand on the hard drive, than with my original NVR, and which subsequently failed a few weeks ago, just over two in situ, with a dedicated security HD by Toshiba installed. I ordered the exact same HD, and fitted it myself, and it seems to be working fine again.
Somehow in the process, while I was still able to to use the mobile app to monitor both live-view, and recorded events, it didn't want to play ball with the Hikvision client software on my PC.
I phoned Hikvision, and found them EXTREMELY unhelpful, almost to the point of rudeness and dismissiveness, and they were unable to give me any help at all as to resetting thing on the PC app, because I think that is all that is needed.
Their 'advice' was to go back and ask the installer, because 'they should know what to do', which will require a physical call-out, or remote reset.
They seem to have at lot of the market share, and yet, from my experience, and that of others who have given Hikvision similarly poor scores, clearly they're not bothered about customers' needs, once the equipment has been purchased and installed.
Yes, I know they're a Chinese company, but that shouldn't imply that proper customer service is not available, especially when you go to the trouble of having a European call centre, which may even have a UK outlet! When you give them your serial number, they seem to know everything about the machine and its basic settings, so how hard can it be to share that back with the customer, who will then end up praising Hikvision, rather than feeling the need to slag it off!
There is a facility to email @Support, but this was neither acknowledged, nor responded to!
Disappointing Experience with HikVision…
Once again I want to share my bitter experience with HikVision CCTV cameras and their service, which has left me extremely dissatisfied as a customer.
Last year, I made the decision to purchase 6 HikVision CCTV cameras. However, within just 1.5 years of usage, all of them developed a significant issue - a foggy cloud on the camera lenses, rendering them useless with zero visibility of images. This issue seriously compromised the security.
I decided to seek assistance from HikVision for the first time by sending 5 of the cameras in for repair. To my disappointment, one of the camera was returned to me without any repairs completed. I believed this to be an isolated incident and sent it in for a second time, hoping for a resolution.
Unfortunately, my second attempt also ended in disappointment as the camera was once again returned without any improvements.
Adding to my frustration, HikVision refused to replace the camera with a new one, citing that it was beyond the warranty period and therefore ineligible for replacement. This lack of consideration for a customer who invested in their product is both disheartening and unacceptable.
In light of my experience, I would strongly advise anyone considering the purchase of CCTV cameras to look elsewhere and not consider HikVision as a viable option. Their cameras have proven to be ineffective, and their customer service has been unreliable and unsatisfactory.
Hic-vision app
Had the engineer out to this system a few times, the main issue is the app,it is virtually impossible to trace issues around your property on a phone or tablet,as they constantly freeze when you try to pinpoint any issues ,THIS APP IS TOTALLY USELESS!!!
Incredibly frustrating.
Had HIK vision cameras installed for a couple of years and all been ok. Recently changed my phone and the HIK connect app didn't transfer over. I just spent the best part of a day attempting to connect my cameras to the app and it has been one of the most frustrating things I've ever done. The QR code "is not recognised" the serial number has "failed to connect" I've been unable to find the DVR/NVR/Firmaware or any other random irrelevant and stupid numbers the app has requested of me. I cannot seem to speak to a human. I've attempted to submit an enquiry form but I am not even sure it has been submitted. It is like a horrible joke and now I think we will just have to get a new system installed. Really really over complicated for something that should be fairly straightforward. I would love them to contact me and sort out a very simple problem and I will happily retract this review.
Awful customer service
Awful customer service. We had a system installed which was fine. When 3 cameras went down and our installer had gone out of business I called Hikvision directly. They were rude and unhelpful, even told me it would be 3 days before the could give me contact details of an installer that might be able to help.
