I paid the Hillingdon Councill £70 for a service I can't use.

I paid the Council £70 to have my garden rubbish collected and to receive address tags to put on the bags to prove I had paid the money. I was told that while waiting for the tags I could put the bags out as long as they had the house number on them and the dustmen would check them against a list to see I had paid. I did that but the dustmen left my bags behind! I emailed the council saying I still have not received the tags and as I had paid £70 for a service I cannot use, I wanted my money back. They said they would look into it some weeks ago, but I have heard nothing since. My neighbours have all received tags, but I still haven't received mine.

Recycling bag and food waste bags…

Recycling bag and food waste bags delivery: Please, please, please, PLEASE, can you either KNOCK on the door, or RING the doorbell, when delivering new bags? The number of times, they have been stolen off the front driveway, due to these ignoramic, single brain celled morons, probably just throwing it from the delivery vehicle. It's not exactly rocket science now, is it.

Hillingdon council bad apples

Hillingdon council has a few persons working for them that has no self respect or regard for disabled persons, no accountability for their misconduct ,bad behaviour, bullish attitude and unprofessional mannerism. After several calls on 7th July 2025, 11th August 2025 and 15th Aug 2025, to resolve matters. I was faced with persons who disregarded my concern with subtle discriminative behaviour, acting like they are getting paid to be some form of deterant to Claimant/disabled Claimant. After a few telephone communications with them i was left feeling insulted, felt like my condition was my fault, felt like peeling my skin off, feeling like vomiting. Those persons in question should not be working in the position they are and dealing with volnurability persons with a protected characteristics. I will assume that Hillingdon council is not aware of such unaccepted behaviour projected unto to customers from some of their untrained, ignorant and complacent staff. Please note some persons disability is not visible and they are faced wit unimaginable tay to day challenges, some wit assistance, some without assistance, these person(s) do not have to disclose their disibility for someone to treat them with respect.

Hillingdon's Locata system is useless…

Hillingdon's Locata system is useless barely any properties listed for months on end.

Even after their so called “update” to Locata, it’s still the same broken system. What’s the point of upgrading a platform when there are barely any properties listed to begin with? It’s not just the odd quiet week it’s been months, even years, with little to no properties available to bid on. Residents are left waiting endlessly, checking week after week for absolutely nothing.

Meanwhile, councils like Brent are building and listing homes regularly their Locata is active, with a proper flow of new builds and available housing. Brent clearly invests in actual solutions, not just flashy website updates that mean nothing without properties behind them.

Hillingdon’s Locata feels like a box ticking exercise to say they have a system but in reality, it’s doing nothing for those stuck in temporary accommodation or desperate to move. No transparency, no communication, and no urgency.

If you’re going to update your system, at least put some homes on it. Right now it feels like a complete waste of time and false hope for the residents you claim to prioritise.

Hillingdon council - As bad as it gets

I can only concur with what everyone here says. Arrogant, incompetent council and full of bullies. Completely ignoring repeated requests to make reasonable adjustments for an elderly, disabled person. The councillors ignore any communication. Complete waste of space. This council has no legitimacy and is in disrepute. When you complain, they fail to answer the questions and just refer you to the local government ombudsman. It’s a deliberate strategy to avoid dealing with complaints but still ticking a box to pretend they have. They are as bad as it gets.

Get trained at Hillingdon Council Apcoa civil enforcement officer school for 3 months and leave for higher salary …

Lucrative salary after getting trained at apcoa as a civil enforcement officer. No previous experience required. Even fluency in English not required.Only Apcoa needs trainees to roam the streets. Once you are trained you can leave and join any council with higher salaries.Apcoa will give you a stipend of 12.21 / hour .Hillingdon Council being one of the biggest and most acclaimed council cannot raise the salary band as told by Apcoa Hillingdon management when asked during the recent minimum wage rise. But don't worry join Hillingdon Council Apcoa, get trained for as little as 3 months and leave for greener pastures like hundreds
of offi iers bred at Apcoas stables.

Total waste of good oxygen

What a horrible bunch of people work here. My mother was in a care home and died in their care. Hillingdon Council have all my mothers possessions and have refused me access. They then send me a form to fill out regarding my mothers financial situation and inform me that I have to reply by return. I reply and then I'm told that it will take up to 10 days to reply to me.
