An enormous thank you goes out to Hillwalk Tours for setting up our hike on the West Highland Way. Not only did Hillwalk Tours arrange for our housing for Inns and Bed & Breakfasts. The relationships that Hillwalk Tours has with these businesses had us staying in places that we loved so much and can’t wait to return to (YOU SPOILED US). Hillwalk Tours along with their suitcase moving company made everything so easy. We were staying in Scotland for a month, so Hillwalk helped arrange for an extra bag. Plus, here is the best part!! Hillwalk Tours gave us a subscription to the Hiiker app. Their partner Hiiker made it so easy to stay on course. The markings on the West Highland Way are good. With Hiiker as a backup made our hike stress free. If we tried to go off course Hiiker alerted us that we were off course. We loved the Hiiker app so much we now have our own subscription. Thank you Hillwalk for this chance to try out the app for our hike and we got a 50% off discount for keeping the app. Goodbye paper maps! If you made it this far reading my review and are looking at other companies for a hiking vacation, do yourself a favor and look no more. Hillwalk is #1. The walk we did was ok. South downs way (the route we did) is a well known and well documented way. Hillwalk tours doesn't add much added value to it though.
I realized that the price we payed is fair if you walk alone, but as a couple (like we are) it is totally overpriced. As a matter of fact, the extra price for the 2nd person comes to an extra breakfast and a little surplus for the luggage transfer (far from the extra 900 £ we payed).
My advice: organize the walk yourself, B&B's are easy to find and for the luggage transfer: multiple companies offer the service for 30/35£/day for 1/2 bagages. Result : 50% savings

What a great organisation, everything was perfect. The good, friendly b&b’s, the transfers of our luguage, the pick-up at the end of the day, the map and instructions where perfect of our tour, Hadrians Wall. I will for sure recommanded hillwalk tours for other people and we wil absolutely book an other tour with them...what more can I say..amazing !!

I booked the Beara Way with Hillwalk Tours. I booked the 11 day Challenging route, so that I would walk the entire Beara Way.
And I honestly had the best walk of my life. I saw beautiful things. Also had one bad day, where I was just done with the walking. But no matter what, the next day I had a big smile on my face. Also because of the beauty of Ireland, but also because of the good bed & breakfast, where a good bed and always kind people were waiting for me. Not to forget my big bag, it was always taken care of. Before the journey they also helped a lot with all the questions I had. They also emailed me before the journey a part of the Beara Way was closed, they also gave an explanation and new route notes and a map which outlined the new route. Thank you Hillwalk Tours! Because of you I just had to walk, the rest was all taken care of :)

We did the 'gentle' four day walking tour on the West Highland Way this July and are very positive about the way the people at Hillwalk Tours organised everything for us.

Even though many thousands of people walk the WHW every year, Hillwalk Tours arranged our tour with such attention, that we didn't feel like a number or 'one of many' to travel Scotland. The B&B's chosen by Hillwalk are all spotless, run by dedicated people and located at or near the WHW-trail. The bagage service provided is flawless and the service of the Hillwalk staff is personal in a way you rarely see anymore these days in tourism. We always had the same contact person who had the knowledge, expertise and pleasure of answering all our questions and doing whatever she thought was necessary for us.

Because of coeliac disease I always need to take extra precautions while travelling, so after making our tour reservation I immediately contacted Hillwalk to ask them if glutenfree arrangements could be made. Just a few emails back and forth were needed for Hillwalk to take all the necessary measures for me to have a safe and well taken care of tour in Scotland.

We highly recommend Hillwalk Tours if you're looking for personal and well cared for hiking tours in some of the most beautiful places in Europe.

We have been walking three times with Hillwalk Tours now; once in Schotland and twice in Ireland and we have booked our fourth time wit Hillwalk tours for next summer. Every time everything is arranged very well, so you don't have to worry, but just enjoy your walk in nature and rest yourself in beautiful B&B's on your route. Highly recommended for people who really wants to experience nature at its best.
