HIVelocity = HIV with supporting criminals

HIVelocity = HIV. It is company that supports criminal activity for months. If you scam people, spam, do phishing or do other criminal, illegal activities - this dishonest, fraudulent pseudo-corporation with pseudo-hosting is for you. They won't stop you doing illegal stuff.

Their abuse support does not exist. For them, laundered money is more important.

However, when they received my first review there, they replied that they take care of spam (hahahaha) and I need to report spam to abuse[at]givelocity.com and they will take action. It is fake. They NEVER took any action. I was reporting them spam via SpamCop FOR MONTHS and even via e-mail when I had still patience to them. No action taken. No reply.

Instead, these lying bots flagged my previous review for describing their support of illegal stuff.

They're perfidious liars, and even if they reply to this message and say again that they're dealing with spam - it will be lie. Don't use their services if you don't want to support criminals.

Just so you don't think I am talking without any proof. Below I listed some of HIVelocitys IP's which are used by criminals to trick people into fake DHL, FedEx deliveries, fake casino winnings, fake GMail warnings, fake issues with my iCloud storage, fake car insurance issues and a lot, lot more.

They are ALL active. If you enter these IP's like the normal webpages, you will see the placeholders sites used by a single criminal (their client or supporter). All the same styled. I wish all the criminals working for HIVelocity, all the worst, I mean years in prison for defrauding and scamming people.

Here is list. If you need to check if, just replace spaces with dots.

Cancellation Denied

We requested a cancellation on the day of renewal. Our business was charged $2,100 for a dedicated server subscription until January 2026. We have not used this server and it had been decommissioned in April 2025. We served out our previous subscription time, which we knew could not be refunded. Hivelocity would not allow us to cancel our next 6 months subscription. No pro rate or creative options. The reason why is "it's our policy to not give refunds".

Shockingly Lax Response to Phishing Report

I reported a phishing website hosted on their platform, expecting swift action to protect others from fraud. Instead, Hivelocity’s response was to ask the scammer to remove it themselves. Seriously?

Rather than taking immediate action to suspend or investigate the malicious content, they said:
“We will reach out to the site owner to get this removed.”
This is not just lazy — it’s dangerous.

Phishing sites are designed to steal people’s data. Giving the attacker a polite heads-up is not a responsible security practice. If this is how they handle abuse reports, I wouldn’t trust them with anything remotely security-sensitive.

Absolutely unacceptable.

Thank you for sharing your concerns. We take all abuse and phishing reports very seriously, and I’m sorry our initial communication left you with the impression that the matter was not being handled appropriately.

When we receive an abuse complaint, our responsibility is to both investigate thoroughly and ensure that valid customers are not suspended without cause. This means we open a formal abuse case, review the report against our policies, and take appropriate action.

In this instance, the site in question was investigated and ultimately removed as a result of that process.

While our first message may have seemed insufficient, it was part of our standard abuse workflow designed to protect the broader community while also ensuring fairness and due process. Please know that we do not ignore or dismiss phishing complaints. They are treated with urgency and resolved through established procedures that lead to removal when justified. These policies are within industry standards.

We appreciate your feedback, as it helps us improve the way we communicate our processes to reporters in the future.

Limited Options, Long Contracts

No longer offer servers that you can add additional RAM or upgrade storage space. They will try and force you into an instant server that doesn't fit your needs very well, little to no RAID options.

They no longer can customize anything even if they have the components in stock, even if it's just simple adding a second drive so you can have basic RAID1.

The other option is to get a custom quote from them which takes a few days. The price is at least 3x to 4x higher than what it should be for simple, common, standard configurations (example: Intel E2300 Series, 32 GB RAM, 980 GB SSDs in RAID1 ~$300+/month) they want to put you on a 12 or 24 month contract/term, otherwise the price is 10x to 15x higher than what a standard configuration normally is if you want to just be month to month. They are pretty much asking you, the first customer to lease the brand new hardware to pay off the hardware yourself, even when they have components in stock in which they can easily add another drive to the server, so that they will be able to use it for many years to come, with many different clients, with the hardware being well payed off (by many years) by the time it's retired and junked.

In summary. If you have a need beyond a simple, non-raid, oddly proportioned speced instant dedicated server that you aren't allowed to upgrade ever, you'll be paying at the very least 3x more, waiting 2 months for hardware delivery, and stuck in a contract with them. Do yourself a favor and find any of the many other hosting companies out there that still value customers needs, and don't expect you to pay for the full price of hardware in a few months that they will resell for many years after you're done using the server.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We understand your frustration and appreciate you bringing these concerns to our attention.

At Hivelocity, we strive to offer a range of options to meet our customers’ diverse needs—including both instantly deployable servers and custom configurations. We understand the importance of flexibility, and while our instant servers are designed for fast provisioning, we absolutely still support custom builds with RAID options, additional drives, and tailored specs through our custom quote process.

That said, we recognize that timelines and pricing for custom hardware may not work for everyone. Our pricing reflects current hardware costs, ongoing support, and the high-performance infrastructure we provide in 50+ global locations. We never aim to "force" a solution, and we’re actively working to improve how quickly we deliver quotes and provision custom builds—especially for customers with specific performance or redundancy requirements.

We appreciate your honest feedback and are always looking for ways to improve. If you’re open to it, we’d love the opportunity to speak with you directly, better understand your use case, and see if we can find a solution that works for you.

Please feel free to reach out to us at customersuccess@hivelocity.net.

Hivelocity deleted my device without confirming with me

Hivelocity deleted my device without confirming that they had made a good faith attempt to reach me.
I was on vacation and fell victim to credit card fraud. My bank blocked my card. It also happened to be the card on file with HiVelocity. They claim to have sent me two email about my payment being missed, but I have no record of said emails. They went ahead and deleted my device. Totally unacceptable. I shall not be doing business with this company.

We’re sorry to hear about your experience and understand how frustrating it must have been. Our system did send two additional emails regarding the payment issue before the device was removed, but we recognize that email delivery isn't always perfect and appreciate you bringing this to our attention. If you’re open to it, please reach out to us at customersuccess@hivelocity.net so we can discuss this further.

This review is relevant to colocation…

This review is relevant to colocation customers.

I have a list of about 50 reasons you should not use Hivelocity, but we'll focus on one at a time.

Reason #1
Their abuse department is a mess.

We had this situation happen where they were migrating their abuse portal to a new one, and they were still using the OLD system, which did not properly send email notifications (kind of important to notify about abuse.) Their solution? They turned off the network ports to ALL our servers, over something like one or two unanswered abuse reports. They contacted us in every way EXCEPT the usual way, aka, the email we input into the system to notify us to that specific abuse email.

They admitted this, but then our account manager just pretended to care about their screw-up and said he'd conduct an internal investigation and give us SLA credit, never happened.

By the way the best part is we already got reports for the abuse from third parties, and already had handled the abuse so they didn't even bother checking to see if the IP address reported pings before just turning off all ports, and Diana Cruz who is some higher-up tried to spin all this as somehow being our fault, like we should have known that their systems suck.

Then, it gets better! They forgot about all this, because they didn't mark it off in their system.

Later, they contacted us AGAIN threatening us for the SAME abuse case that was resolved weeks ago!

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're sorry to hear about your experience and the frustration it caused. We understand how critical timely communication and reliable systems are.

While we’ve worked hard to improve and modernize our abuse handling and notification systems, it’s clear from your account that we missed the mark in your case. We take this feedback seriously and will be reviewing the situation internally to ensure better communication and resolution processes moving forward.

If you'd be open to a conversation, please contact us at customersuccess@hivelocity.net so we can revisit your experience and work toward a resolution.

Post-Payment Surprise: Forced KYC from a Dodgy Service

The company requires a photo of your documents (ID or passport).
This is not mentioned anywhere in the order form or on the service landing pages.

Apparently, these guys see themselves as a "bank" or "stock exchange" with KYC procedures.
In other words, after you make a payment, they will request identity verification — not in a dispute, not to recover access, but by default.

I have no intention of sharing my personal documents with every random company out there.
There are already too many data breaches in the world.

Therefore, the advertisement claiming that servers are set up instantly (in 5 minutes) is also misleading, as identity verification is done manually during business hours.

I've requested a refund. Will update my review or write a new one accordingly.

Thank you for your feedback. We understand your concerns and appreciate the opportunity to clarify.

In certain cases — such as when the information used during sign-up does not match the PayPal account details — we may request additional verification. This is a standard security measure designed to protect both our customers and our business from fraudulent activity. It's not our default process for all orders, but is triggered only when discrepancies arise.

We understand the importance of data privacy and handle all personal information with the utmost care, in compliance with industry standards and data protection regulations.

Regarding your note about instant server setup: most orders are deployed within minutes, but on rare occasions where manual review is necessary, such as for identity confirmation, there can be a delay.

Our Customer Care team is reviewing the ticket you submitted earlier. You can send additional feedback to customersuccess@hivelocity.net.

Great company

Great company. I bought and had everything setup rather quickly. The VPS works really well, is fast and the backend system for the dashboard is really easy to natigate. 5 stars for sure!

Great Support is Alive at Hivelocity

As a long time customer of Hivelocity, I was concerned when they recently merged with another organization. For the past 8ish years, I have enjoyed fantastic support that I value greatly.

This past week, I had a chance to engage the support team again for an urgent, multi-server deployment with a firewall, Load Balancer, Database Server and multiple web servers. We were working on a short timeline, which they understood and rushed to support my team every step of the way.

I am happy to say that excellent support is still well and alive at Hivelocity, and I'm very thankful for their team.

Terrible VPS Performance and Awful Customer Service

I purchased a VPS, but it was incredibly slow with unbearable latency. I reached out to tech support, and they confirmed the issue. After waiting five days for a response, customer service refused to issue a refund. Fortunately, I had paid with PayPal, so I opened a dispute and got my money back. The service was painfully slow, and the customer support was even worse.
