Been trying to get my date of birth…

Been trying to get my date of birth sorted since February and it’s now September as they have the wrong one on their system I sent a certified copy of birth certificate as requested. Have phoned numerous times to be told it can take weeks if not months for this to be sorted Tried again today after being on hold for an hour finally got through. They put me on hold and it cut me off! Phoned straight back same thing went to check with a manager put me on hold again! And it cut me off again. So I’m still no further forward. What is going on with hmrc ?

45 mins to speak with somebody

45 mins to speak with somebody, on this occasion, to be told “I can’t help you!” I wrote to HMRC 17/07 regarding incorrect Nat Ins contribution 3 and I am looking for a refund Site suggests I should have received a reply by 28/08. If I owed them I would be harassed for payment and yet I have to wait patiently for a refund. Why as a nation do we accept this poor performance from a government body. If this was a private company it would have gone out of business years ago.

I left UK almost 1 year and I keep calling to get a proof for child benefits and still nothing. 👎👎👎 All the time they saying they will send me but nothing....I called to cha ge the phone number even that they didn't do it. For what you get paid???? If you don't solve the people's problems???

Been on the phone for 1 hour and 23…

Been on the phone for 1 hour and 23 mins as of now. Send form in a month ago to authorise my accountant to deal with my tax affairs. Apparantly HMRC are struggling to do this. They also cant tell me why this has taken so long. I then asked for all my records, that they hold , to be sent to me as I have an urgent matter. I offered to pay for next day delivery. They said no and it will take 7 working days to receive my information. Appalling service .

If I could put no stars there would be no stars. I was recently informed by HMRC that they were changing my tax code because I had started a new job....I hadn't. Told them this and the woman on the phone ended my employment with them creating a P45. I'm a single parent working part time and now have universal taking money off me for a job I don't work at and an income I haven't received. I have told both it's clearly identity theft and have been passed from pillar to post by both saying I need to contact the other. Rang HMRC today and they have said because that lady needed my employment with them and created a P45 it's now saying that I'd confirmed getting paid by them. I can't stress how utterly unhelpful you are. So I'm now out of pocket and have someone using my details and have an increased tax code and am waiting on yet more phone calls back that don't happen. I will be putting in formal complaints

So unprofessional and incompetent

So unprofessional and incompetent. Having being told in a letter there was a system error on their side so I did not owe any money, I receive another demand fit the same money. Impossible to get through to anyone.
So worrying how shambolic it has become.

in an attempt to erase , someone internally changed my name , how this is possible when a legal document or deedpoll would be required, is impossible and FRAUD. a Nat Insurance is for life. they refused for past 3 yrs to updae my address and send confrimation and in all calls have said nobody with my name exists on their records. adjudicators office are unfitt for purpose and in addition they have breached my fundamenal right to a cpy of my records and full file records and oher information requested. now reported to he united nations. Our ref 0043510

i will not be providing hem with a copy of my passport as i do no know wha hey will do wih it given what hey ahve already done so i is now at court. and no reliant on uk jurisdiction.
none of the complaints signed by a name either or on formal paper.

HMRC ignore governments own website persons…

Rang HMRC to apply for blind persons tax allowance for my mother, told me on 2 calls I had failed security then admitted they had the wrong address where my mother has not lived since 1997 someone moved it ! According to staff have go to solicitor and pay certify Power of Attorney wheras govt website states give staff OPG codes over phone .Staff claimed could not enter details on screen which is a lie I used work HMRC as a tax inspector so now off to MP This review alert people to blind persons allowance which HMRC keep quiet about and problems POA as from experience I know HMRC couldn't give a toss about call time waits, incorrect info.They despite their claims do use e mails just not for taxpayers as they do not like give out names for obvious reasons

Will lie, con , manipulate evidence & deny any accountability for THEIR mistake. Not fit for purpose. Sick of adverts stating they " help & support". They gaslight, patronise & think they know better despite you having proof they're wrong. Unbelievable. The Newcastle office is the worst for this

Getting worse and worse and no good for helping people. They are more about stressing people and angering people and no care or listening skills!!!

I wouldn’t even give these disgusting people a 1 out of 5, I would give them 0 stars as they no longer deserve any decent rating! I spoke to a James this morning and he was absolutely rude, condescending, rude, abrupt, and talking over me most of the time. He was putting words into my mouth and just not listening to me properly. He also gave me new information which no one else gave me before which I thought was really strange! Because of the fact that he was making me stressed and angry he said he was going to terminate the call and couldn’t help me. I was giving him accurate figures and he did not even listen or hear what I was saying. Very rude person. Hmrc honestly stress me out every time I call them, they do not help or do me any favours. They should be even running anymore as they clearly do not know what they are doing. No respect whatsoever! I called Meena the second time around wanting to complain and take it seriously and she did not hear me or what I was saying and I said I demanded to get a response this time about this complain towards James as I’m not putting up with their nonsense anymore! She said she couldn’t help me as I was refusing to give her my details, funny how people can’t just answer the question and the fact that people clearly get stressed and fed up of these people who do not know how to speak to human beings like myself, instead they make things worse! But yet it’s ok for them to make mistakes over and over and not even be sorry for their mistakes. This is honestly not acceptable. I have read the reviews on here and they don’t care to read what is being said about their terrible behaviour and lack of helping without any issues or people getting stressed. This is about people’s money and livelihood at the end of the day! I do not even respect Hmrc or the people who work behind this government company. They don’t care about anyone but themselves! James and Meena did not help and neither of them heard what I was saying clearly. My issue has not even been resolved because of their lack of listening skills and my questions were not answered!

Paying too much tax

Paying too much tax, have tried to call them 10 times over the last couple of days so far waiting anywhere between 30 mins to 1 hour 27 mins to only get told we are currently busy and can’t take your call and disconnect me. Are the staff working back in the offices yet or at home at our expense. How are they monitored if they are actually working. Have also tried the chat option and online both not helpfully either. With the cost of living it would be handy to have the additional money in my account not theirs. An actual joke of a system!!!

Been trying to tell hmrc I've not been self employed for over 5 months now keep sending me imaginary fines, been filling out the stopping self assessment form been employed since March 2022, absolute useless
