They charge for preorders then and there and don't want to provide refunds for cancellations. My preorder was to ship over a year from purchase and they "provided me with an exception" a refund reduced by 5%.

They also took about a week to respond to customer care ticket and told me to expect the refund on 2 business weeks???? AND to message them again if I don't receive it.

One of the best sellers of Japanese goodies, never had issues with them, very good packaging and the price are very fair. I highly recommend.

I had a very disappointing experience with Hobby Genki regarding my pre-order.

I placed my order during the very first pre-order wave in October using the Buy Now, Pay Later option. The item sold out quickly, which is exactly why I secured my order as soon as it became available.

After many months of waiting, I was informed that Hobby Genki could not secure stock for my order due to "supply issues." What frustrates me most is not the cancellation itself, but the extremely late communication. Had I been informed earlier, I would have had the opportunity to purchase the item elsewhere.

By the time my order was canceled, the market price had risen to roughly three times the original pre-order price. On top of that, I was refunded in Japanese Yen, and due to exchange rate fluctuations, I lost approximately AUD $80 compared to what I originally paid.

What makes this particularly difficult to understand is that I ordered during the very first pre-order wave, yet additional pre-order waves were opened later. As a customer, this raises serious questions about how pre-orders were allocated and managed. If there was any risk that my order could not be fulfilled, I believe customers should have been informed much earlier.

I understand that supply shortages can happen. However, the lack of transparency and delayed communication left me with no realistic opportunity to secure the item elsewhere before prices skyrocketed. As a result, I suffered both a financial loss and the loss of the opportunity to purchase a highly sought-after collectible at its original retail price.

I have purchased collectible items for many years, and this is one of the most frustrating pre-order experiences I have had.

The shipping was fast, and the item arrived well packaged. Overall, the item itself was great; the only small complaint I have is that the package and figure reeked of cigarettes. And this wasn't just a little bit; it had seeped into everything, the bubble wrap and wrap paper, and nearly blew me back with the stench. I had to thoroughly clean and deodorize the figure's outer packaging before I felt comfortable giving it to my best friend as a gift. But the figure itself was amazing, the price was good, and I'll probably be back again soon. I'll just be making sure I have a bottle of enzyme cleaning on hand as well.

Everything went smoothly it was good but unfortunately the butterfly joint piece is defected and I already issued I replacements so I'm waiting to hear from you guys 👍

Real satisfied customer! I placed an order for the Revoltech cable 1.5 figure. It was shipped a little later than usual due to the golden week holiday in Japan. When I received the figure., it had a defective knee joint which came apart while handling it. I contacted Hobby-Genki and they assured me they would make things right. Within a week I had recieved a replacement part from Hobby. This was my first purchase from Hobby-genki., needless to say I have another product order on the way as I type this. Great place to do business. The team stands by customer satisfaction. Great Job Hobby-Genki!

Due to tariffs making changes to many online shops it's hard to judge one shop's own experience so 4 out of 5 stars would make sense. I mainly have issues with confusing reward points rules as there isn't a faq on how they work. Also, navigating is clunky. Like looking at pics of any item annoying due to clicking arrows for the next pic. And clicking on pics is slow to load during this time. Other sites like Amiami do better by simply loading all pics to see. Search has improved, it took a long time to get there. Warehouse and shipping is more or less same as other sites and so far seems reliable if not a little slow.

The prices are great, especially with their weekly sales (some go over 50%), the handling and shipping time has improved dramatically, I receive all my orders within a week. Absolutely amazing customer service.

The prices on Hobbi-Genki and their speed at availability make this a good website for select items when ordering from the UK. Customer service can be a little slow, but very helpful. Would recommend.

Im a collector from Chile here obtaining original japanese figure is overly expensive sometimes the market carges the double of the original price from the mafex line.
I was so amazed from Hobby-Genki that I ordered one figure to test the service and it was flawless since then I have ordered almost the complete X-Men line from Mafex and others that I always wanted.
