My partner and I had a great experience arranging our wedding rings with Holts. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and knowledgeable, and we are very happy with the result :)

May and Holt's Gems are exceptional. From my first email inquiry, May was responsive and helpful, which was a big factor in my decision to go with Holt's. When I visited in person, she was patient and took the time to explore all the options. She provided great guidance, ensuring I felt confident in my choice without ever rushing me—especially for such an important decision. Thanks to her attention to detail and expert advice, we ended up with exactly what I wanted. It was a wonderful experience, and I would definitely recommend them.

We have been customers of Holts since 2008, when we had a diamond solitaire in a platinum setting especially designed and made for us. At that time we were guided by Jason and Alicja, and the ring was made by Robin.

A couple of years later, our daughter had her diamond solitaire engagement ring made at Holts with help from Jasón and Alicja.

Recently we were in Spain, and Maureen accidentally caught the clasp of her ring on something metallic in our car, breaking the ring and the stone fell out! Thankfully we found the diamond.

On Thursday past we went by appointment to see Alicja, and we decided to have the diamond reset. Alicja pulled out all the stops and had the job completed on Friday afternoon, the day before we were due to fly back to Ireland.

The help and advice is as excellent as the jewellery itself which clearly gives us the confidence to keep going back, and to recommend them to our family and friends.

Alicja’s help this time, and the service she has given us has been outstanding!

We cannot recommend Holts highly enough.

Thank you so much to Alicja and the Holts team for helping me with my fiancée’s emerald engagement ring. I had a tight timeline of around 4-weeks to arrange a ring and most jewellers were advising of a 5-6 week turnaround, plus I was having the issue of not being able to physically view the ring I wanted at other appointments. However at Holts, Alicja was able to help me with my tight timeline and during my appointment physically show me how various stones looked with different ring options - which helped massively! Thankfully my (now) fiancée loved the ring and all of her friends were buzzing with it too. Once again, huge thanks to Alicja and the Holts team!!

From first phone call we felt Holts would be the right place to bring our antique ring to be 'saved'. Farah helps us decide what to do with the extremely weakened ring. My daughter chose to have the diamonds reset and to add a small emerald. The work was done within our time in London and we are so happy that our heirloom ring has been remodelled for my daughter.

The staff were so helpful and friendly, they took on board exactly what style of ring I wanted made. Several emails followed together with a couple of CAD designs, alterations were never too much trouble. May was particularly helpful.

With Holts i felt very comfortable and assured that my idea of a dream engagement ring would become a reality. Alicja handled my whole journey with total professionalism and integrity, she made sure I was aware of all the different possibilities and designs. The whole process took around 6 weeks from start to finish and I was kept informed of the making of the ring the whole way. I could not recommend this very established company enough! 10/10. I'm so pleased to have gone to Holts for my engagement ring. I worked with May to choose a setting and she was brilliant, she understood what I wanted and was super helpful. The diamond from my grandma's ring was carefully removed and a beautiful modern ring was created.

After visiting a couple of jewellers we decided on Holts. They were warm, friendly, and professional, and their office felt organised and safe. The rings they made (from removing a stone and recycling the gold of an existing ring) were beautiful.

Holts Gems was recommended to me by the jeweller who made me a stunning ring, however, they did not have someone internally registered with the National Association of Jewellers who could appraise my ring. For me, this was an essential requirement of anyone providing me with an appraisal so that I could rest assured that if anything ever happened to it, there would be no argument with an insurance company as to the quality of the appraisal.

They specifically recommended Alicja, the Managing Director of Holts Gems. Holts Gems are members of the National Association of Jewellers and have been delivering a valuation service for 80 years - with no issues with their many valuations being accepted by the insurance sector. Alicja herself is an accredited valuer who also has CAT - Certificate of Appraisal Theory, providing the essential foundations for jewellery appraisal - and the necessary qualifications.

Reassured, I contacted Holts Gems and could not have been more impressed with the service I received.

Initially I happened to be in the area (the same day I picked up my ring!) and just showed up to have an initial discussion. I met with Amy, who was lovely and helpful, and she gave me Alicja's email address. I expressed that I really really did not want to be without my ring for any length of time - ideally my preference would be a same-day service. I had investigated more local appraisal services to me, and the general theme was that a company would want to take my ring for a few weeks on a waiting list before completing the appraisal. This was honestly completely unacceptable to me and I would not want to work with a company who had that approach. Not to say I don't understand why companies do that - I'm sure there are many non-shows for appointments made, which is of course a massive time-waster for them. However, I didn't want that.

Amy was very reassuring and said they could offer a same-day service so long as it were during a weekday and far enough in advance to have their time available.

I then emailed Alicja, who was also more than helpful. We easily found a date when they could provide a same-day service, and it wasn't too long a wait, which I was sooooo happy about. I feel they bent over backwards to make that happen for me.

Also extremely importantly, I have a very specific and unusual diamond. I really wanted this to be captured in the appraisal - like not even 'wanted' but considered it an essential part of the appraisal contents. Alicja went out of her way to ensure she completed due diligence on this even before I attended my appointment and reassured me of the research she had completed. I really appreciated that as it was just a great reflection on her approach, keenness to ensure she had the correct information to make an accurate appraisal, etc. I was impressed and grateful.

I attended the appointment and again, Alicja and the team were lovely. They were so efficient; made copies of the paperwork I had brought; and quickly took all the appraisal photos/measurements/weights etc. The thing I was SO surprised about was that this approach meant I IMMEDIATELY had my ring back!!!! I had thought I would have to leave it with them the whole day but received it back straight away. I was thrilled!!!

And true to her word, the appraisal was with me by the end of the day. :D

It definitely wasn't a cheap service, but honestly, the same-day appraisal service, getting my ring back immediately and the reassurance I was getting an official valuation trusted by insurers made it more than worth it.
