Don‘t use them if you need professional…

Don‘t use them if you need professional banking services or transactions over 100k€. I had them for two of my companies and some issues which risked important business deals.

The app is great but that is not enough.

Amazing Service & Customer Support

I signed up with the free account and closed down my NORDEA business account, as I was very happy with Holvi - it simplified accounting, sending invoices and keeping track of transactions.

I received several Email that I will have to upgrade to the Paid Account as Holvi changed their business model, which I fully support. Dealing with the support always has been fast and friendly, and I’m a happy paying customer - I pay more at a traditional bank, with not even half the services. It feels like the majority of the 1 ⭐️ Reviews are by people who don’t check their Emails regularly, and now vent by leaving negative Reviews here.

Holvi upgraded my account without my consent!

I registered a free account years ago and ran it on the free basic package.

In October 2021, I received an invoice because I was supposedly upgraded to the Business plan (without my consent) and they supposedly notified me several times via email, which I cannot confirm.

Now they want to force me to pay outstanding fees, although I never agreed for the paid upgrade.

I was in contact with their support but all they could do was to send me the invoice.

This procedure is completely unacceptable and dubious to be honest.

Ich habe ein Konto vor Jahren registriert und auf dem kostenlosen Basis-Paket laufen lassen. Das Konto habe ich nie aktiv benutzt.

Im Oktober 2021 bekomme ich eine Rechnung, weil ich angeblich auf den Business-Tarif (ohne meiner Zustimmung) hochgestuft worden bin und sie hätten mich angeblich mehrmals per E-Mail darauf hingewiesen, was ich nicht bestätigen kann.

Nun soll ich Gebühren bezahlen, obwohl ich nie für den Tarifwechsel zugestimmt habe.

Dieses Vorgehen ist völlig inakzeptabel, unseriös und fühle mich erpresst.

Eigentlich ist es ein Fall für den Konsumentenschutz.

Shiny on the outside, full of thorns on the inside

When I joined Holvi in 2020 the bank offered an almost perfect product to me. Just the basics I need for my small business. Then, the price got hiked and they graciously announced this would not affect existing users. Then, that got revoked and in addition to charging a monthly fee, the already available features got cut back. So I'm stuck now with a product I must continue paying for to finish the year, yet without the ability to create new invoices or even download older ones I already sent out! I regard this as highly unprofessional and cant wait to pack my bags and leave. This is nearly a Bunq level bad customer experience. As startups are oh so keen on feedback to improve their product, this is how I would have expected their price change:
1. Let existing customers keep the existing account for another year, freeze features
2. New customers can sign up at the basic 6€ tier
3. Add new features in the meantime for only the top tier at 12€

... instead of basically forcing me to pay for a product that has not developed since I opened the account. Shame on your product managers!

Years ago I singed up for free account…

Years ago I singed up for free account to see what Holvi was all about. I ended up not using Holvi as I was not satisfied with their webshop capabilities. Years later, I received an email stating that I need to top up my account balance to cover my service fees. Turns out all free account have been rolled into a paid subscription model without asking for any consent of the customer in question, can this even been done? I just cancelled my account and in the cancelation email it stated "that I would have to pay any outstanding service fees promplty as unpaid fees will prevent them from fully closing my account." I never agreed to your pay your new service fee in any way, how can you force us to pay something we never agreed and/or gave our consent for? How is that for clarity and responsibility? Great business practice...

HOLVI closed our bank account

HOLVI closed our bank account
We had a business account with Holvi and today without ANY prior notice our account was closed. We contacted the support but they didn't give us an answer nor did they transfer our money back (even though a new account number was provided to the support team). It is impossible to reach them so we tried to post something on their facebook page with is immediately deleted every time. It seems like a bad dream to unreal to be true...

I chose Holvi after other banks

I chose Holvi after having used other traditional large banks. Holvi provides many functions that are simply not availed by the other banks that I have used. The charging for services by other banks was confusing and often unpredictable, which sometimes resulted in surprisingly high bank fees in some months. I appreciate the simple pricing plan, the financial reporting, even if simple, but most I appreciate being able to link invoices to transactions, received and sent. As far as customer service, I am satisfied with their response rate and manner. Even late at night, when they are not at work, I have left a message in the chat facility, and woken up to a response in my e-mail box. I have also pro-actively sent them improvement proposals, to which they have responded.

Product feels incomplete so far, but has potential.

The product itself is immature and not worth the money yet, but it is getting there. Half the features don't work properly or feel unfinished. Classifying expenses? Random errors. Adding pdf receipts to an invoice? Doesn't work. Adding personalised message to the invoice? Doesn't work. Invoice templating? Nope. There is still a lot of manual work where there could be automation.

Horrible experince

Horrible experience with Holvi!
They blocked my businesses' first invoice claiming it violated anti-money laundering standards and never notified me about it. The whole point of a startup is that you have to start somewhere and raise a first invoice at some point. Holvi caused me so much pain that I switched to Sparkasse and had no issues receiving the payment. Wonder why Holvi (a bank targeted at startups) found the transaction odd while sparkasse didn't.
Totally disappointed with the forced switch to a paid plan. I only stuck around with Holvi because it was free. Now that they're forcing me to upgrade, i'm going to drop them like a hot potato

no trust; no service

Just closed my account. Like many others, I was lured by the promise of low fees and online banking efficiency, only to be notified of increases only 6 months later. Along with the price increase, their service also seems to have taken a hit. Before messages were answered very quickly. Now 2+ days and still no answer…

Free account offering - and being forced to upgrade

I like the banking experience with Holvi, however, one of the reasons I picked it was because they offered free bank account. For someone just starting off with a company and having little to no cash flow keeping expenses to a minimum is important. I was planning on upgrading when I reached a stage where this was needed. BUT now I received a message that they are discontinuing the starter account and we are all basically forced to move up to a paid account.
They basically got me hooked on a promise of a free account and option to upgrade, to the reality of being forced to upgrade after not even a year as a customer.
Not how you do business and I will be looking for a new bank.
Also I have seen some feedback from Holvi on other reviews - for a price of two cups of coffee a month you get a great service - at the end of the day it's not about the price, it's about trustworthiness and keeping promises that you used to gain customers.

Poor customer service and turnaround time

After 72 hours from the first message to customer service, still no reply regarding an inbound payment, gone missing. Not impressed at all. They pretend to have a real time chat, but that's pure BS.

Worst bank ever.

Worst bank ever.

First I couldn't even complete the registration process because the selfie upload always failed. I literally tried it for over 50x and finally one selfie went through. After that I wasn't done yet. I had to upload a lot of things. Then they send me a email that I had to answer a few questions and sent them an email back. When I finally completed the registration process, they told me at the last moment that my business was not compatible with Holvi. Very bad experience! I don't recommend this bank!

The ease of use, Mastercard, responsive customer service and peace of mind about accounting are well worth the price. Makes billing simple and allows me to use my time on things that matter. Easy to recommend for anyone running a small business.
